I always find it amusing when people use Woke as a pejorative term.

And is also explained in the film.
Thanks, I couldn't remember if it was but I know the book mentions it

Watched Poor Things over the weekend.... Looked weird, interesting, cinematic. But was very uncomfortable throughout.
Re your spoiler...
SpoilerIirc, in the book its explained that Bellas brain matures faster than a normal person and so by the time she has sex she has the mind of an adult.

ICYMI or ICYHSIY
Sweet merciful giggety. There's no way it can match my expectations.
It looks great. As a massive fan of the game series I just hope they nail the story and characters.

Interesting going back to the first dozen or so pages of this thread (when it was still titled 'Recommend me a movie')
We've always had pretty good taste in movies on this site

I picked this up on Blu ray recently as I was hankering for a rewatch:
It was as brilliant as I remembered it being, and yet another example of the genius of Bong Joon-Ho.
If you like a bit of Asian cinema and haven't seen it then I can't recommend it enough

Finally started Succession.
Couple of episodes in and it's pretty decent so far.
Expect good things.

Posted in the 'Health and Sickness' thread but probably better suited in here.
Does anyone have any experience of taking Sertraline? I recently had quite a 'big' life event that has potentially changed my life, and I started developing OCD symptoms a couple of weeks after, to the point where it was affecting my work. Doc put me on Sertraline and I've been on it since Jan, and at first it seemed to work quite well. The dosage has been upped since, and now I feel worse, more anxiety based OCD about a number of things. I'm guessing 'life' has caused the anxiety, but I don't understand why it's hit me like a train when I'm on double the dosage now?
TIA.
I've been on it for a good number of years now and I've found it to be the most effective and side effect free anti-depressant I've ever been on (and I've been on lots).
I guess it just suits some people better than others

I saw a video the other day where a guy was leaving prison and this other guy in a dark suit and dodgy looking hat only came and picked him up in an old bloody POLICE car. The pair of them looked well dodgy with big dark sunglasses obviously trying to conceal their faces. Both smoking as well.
Had some cool music playing on the video though.
Did the car have a lot of pickup?

I’ve not read the books but thought the first film was absolutely spectacular. It was **** brilliant
Same here. Never got around to the books (been meaning to for years) but both of the DV movies have been outstanding.

Is this an OK place to ask about Zendaya? In the first film I felt she was the weakest actor, but then, the character didn't have much to do. In part 2 she has much more screen time, but to me, again, she's the weakest on screen presence. Admittedly it would be hard to shine amongst so many great performances, but I feel she's competent at best, but mainly she's just wooden. She has angry face and smiling face, that's kind of it. Why is she so revered? I saw Spiderman No Way Home and she was OK I guess. What has she been in where she shows more range? Any suggestions, because I'm just not getting it.
Agree she didn't have much to do in the part 1 so very difficult to judge her in that but I thought she was good in part 2 tbh.
Her best performance is in Malcolm and Marie where she really showed her range.
I thought the most 'phoned in' performance in part 2 was Chris Walken - I felt like he'd been beamed in from a different film (and I bloody love him!)

Never got the BMTH hype to be honest. My eldest used to absolutely love them, and although she and I share a lot of musical overlap this was one where we drastically differed.
Oh, and by all accounts Oli Sykes is an absolute word removed so there's that.

First episode of Shogun was very good indeed.
Yep, just watched it and totally agree.
Nice to see Cosmo Jarvis get such a prominent role in it as I rate him very highly indeed.
Looking forward to watching more.

Midnight Suns is criminally underrated imo.
My favourite Marvel game ever.
