Been on this most of the weekend and it's just confirmed what I've thought when I first played it all those years ago.
It's an absolute banger. Some games just hit all the right spots on a personal level and this is definitely one of them.

First episode of The Red King was good. Lots of Wicker Man influence.

I know I'll be in a minority, but I enjoyed this more than GTA5.
I obviously enjoyed this a fair bit

So, turned my PS4 on the other day and it turns out I downloaded this at some point and never played it. Feels like a Sunday session coming on, any pointers before I start?
Thank you
Just kidding, it's actually a very good game that holds up pretty well. Very much the video game equivalent of an early John Woo movie.
As for pointers...: A man who never eats pork bun is NEVER a whole man!

Also, genuine question this time, what was that Matt Berry one where he was a copper in sort of Victorian London? Channel 4 maybe. It had the most excellent swearing since…ooh, what was that political one, y’know with the sweary Scotsman? And then they did a London Olympics one and a BBC one - W11A was it? Armando, very smart guy.
Brainfarts are common early in the day.
Year of the Rabbit. Still hoping for a second series.

Coady Willis still remains one of the best drummers I've ever seen live. Completely blew me away when I saw him with Big Business.

4 > NV > 76 > 3
Never played 1 and 2.
3 was decent but NV and 4 took the concept, polished it up and knocked it out the park. 76 was trash on release but I played it recently and it's actually really good now.

lol game doesn’t load on ps5 at the moment because of an issue with dlc. Just crashes at the loading screen. Excellent timing with people wanting to go back due to the TV show
See posts above ^^^^^
There's a native PS5 version coming out next week (free upgrade with all whistles and bells) so I'd hold off anyway (I can't wait to play through again).

Saw this earlier...
Terrific slice of entertainment. Tightly written, with never a dull moment and some superbly choreographed ott violence. Great cast with standouts from young Alisha Weir as the titular character and Dan Stevens as a slimy kidnapper.
Good fun.

Anyone seen this yet? Trailer looks promising and David Dastmalchian is usually good.
Yes. Saw it at the flicks last week.
Very good indeed I think you'll enjoy it.
It comes onto Shudder as of tomorrow iirc.

Think I've hit a bit of a wall with this at the moment and I'm not massively deep into the story. It's just a bit fiddly in so many ways. Some side quests for example are really difficult to progress. You have what you need to progress, you go to the place you need to be, talk to the right person and nothing! I end up abandoning them. The same thing seems to happen with the main quest too but I think I'm at a stage where my next steps will lock some of the game.
Maybe I just proceed as is and see where it takes me but at the moment it's not grabbed me as much as I hoped it would.
I always love how this type of game can be played by two people with such a difference in experience. Haven't had any of the issues with quests and been having a blast and making my way to the Warfarer vocation.
It's one of the most 'pure' rpgs I've played since...well DD1 and I love how much freedom and lack of hand holding there is.
Combat is great once you can hire some decent Pawns and get the group synergy working well. I've found that after hitting lvl 30, we can take on most mobs without too much hassle.
The only thing I'm still not ok with is the lack of Portcrystals. I don't mind the travelling but I think 4 or 5 at the start of the game would have made things a little more user friendly without sacrificing difficulty.
Really good game otherwise.

Somewhat surprised that Civil War is getting such mixed reviews. Saw it at IMAX today and thought it was great. Not perfect by any means but a thoughtful film with some really good set pieces.
88% on RT so generally positive.
Ticket is booked for tomorrow. I like most of Garlands work, he's always interesting.

Next Gen update for console and PC by the end of the month
Can't wait for this. One of my all time favourite games.
Assuming there's a separate trophy list for the ps5 update I'll be going for my second Platinum on it.

I watched 4 episodes of Baby Reindeer on Netflix last night. A new 6 part mini series based on a true story about a stand up comic and who is stalked by a woman he meets in the pub he works at. That doesn't tell the half of it though. It has everything and is funny at times, distressing and sad with some great acting (the man who wrote it plays himself/the lead role).
I'm going to watch the last two episodes later.
Really enjoyed this.
Didn't realise until a couple of episodes in that the actor in the main role was the guy that it happened to in real life.
Scary stuff, but really good.

Anyone else noticed how much Ella Purnell looks like Winnie Cooper from the wonder years?
Great show btw. 3 episodes in and quality remains high.
She kinda reminds me of Buzz Lightyear

First episode is fantastic.
As someone who has clocked over 1,000 hours across 3,4 and NV I can confidently say they've nailed the look, feel, the humour and the storytelling of the games, but even more importantly I think even if you know zero about the world I think most will enjoy it.
Hope the quality is maintained for the whole series.
