Having finished GOW I’m really trying to get back into DS remastered. Started a new save but **** me this game is so inaccessible.
I have no idea where I’m meant to be going, what I’m meant to be doing. Every direction I go I seem to be able to go so far before I reach something insanely difficult.
What am I meant to be doing? Where am I going?
As someone who has finished DS1 over 100 times, I believe a first run of the game should be blind. I'm so glad I didn't use a guide and I'm always jealous when people are on their first playthrough.
Having said that I'll give you a little bit of advice just to get you in the right direction.
Assuming you're out of the Undead Asylum and have landed in Firelink Shrine, take the hill upwards towards the tunnel. Once you see a massive bastard red dragon fly over you, you know you're on the optimal route. Do not go down the hill towards the regenerating skeletons. That's for later. The game does a good job of telling you which direction by how difficult the areas you come across are. If you are getting one shotted, you need to find another route.
Also, taking the Master Key as your starting gift can make things much easier.
Oh, and keep an eye on your equipment weight. If it's too high, you will be 'Fat Rolling' and that's no good for evading enemies.

Just back from:
As @Follyfoot says, it's a very good movie indeed.
It's kind of difficult not to compare with the glitz and shine of the contemporary Hollywood film series, but apart from having Godzilla in the title, there's very little in the way of similarities.
The main characters have emotional depth, and I connected immediately with them. The story has many layers with a central theme of guilt which is very well done and the post WW2 setting is portrayed with some pitch perfect cinematography.
In a nutshell, the Hollywood movies are about Godzilla with a few human characters thrown in whereas this is very much a movie about people which just happens to have Godzilla in it.
It's brilliant.

Only saw the post above and assumed it was the colourised version of Scrooge with Alastair Sim being discussed.
Wasn’t aware there was a non black & white version of It’s a Wonderful Life.
My favourite Xmas film (and also one of my favourite films in general tbh).
I once caught a few minutes of the horrendous colourised version and I would happily erase it from existence.
Utter, utter filmic blasphemy.

I'm quite enjoying "Kin" on Iplayer. It's obviously loosely based on real events, but Aidan Quinn and Ciaran Hinds are always worth a watch. The episode where Frank visits his brother in the jail had me howling, "cos everyone knows you're just a windy word removed?" I'm tying to think of the actor who plays Brendan, Frank,s brother.
Kin is very good indeed. I Just need to wait for the second season to come on iPlayer.
The actor who plays Frank's brother is the mercurial Francis Magee. Brilliant character actor whose been in everything from Eastenders, Peep Show and Game of Thrones.
Oh, and its Aidan Gillan, not Aidan Quinn

Was watching a best of 2023 video and this came up as that number 1 and its pretty damn good.
Finnish doom band based around a christian cult that was active in the 1930s/40s that admonished sexual intercourse (including within marriage) and generally seemed very crazy.
Anyway the music is great and you should give it a listen. Smacks of female led bands such as Blood Ceremony but slower (and no flutes) and elements of early Ghost with the anti-religion/mystery about them and of course there is an element of Sabbath worship.
Sounds right up my street. I'll check it out tomorrow cheers

I am booked on Friday at my local cinema as my lad has been pestering me continuously, it has three showings early and mid afternoon and evening so seems to be going into wider showings now
Yes I checked this morning and they've added more showings. All booked up for Sunday afternoon now

For Lego people's arses? I bet Steven Gerrard has square toilet seats in his house.
He doesn't bother, he just shits on the club he's currently 'managing'.

There's only one showing per day at my cinema at a time I can't make
Annoying, because I was really up for watching it at the cinema and it's reviewing ridiculously well.
Hopefully the schedule updates for next week and I can get to see it.

Picked up my 4 months sober coin last night. Was meant to pick it up Wednesday but Villa came first. Freely sharing among the group now and feel settled within a community that just want the best for you. I’ve gone longer than 4 months before but it’s been misery the most part. Feels different this time. Anyway won’t bore you every time I get a coin but hopefully get to 6 months then a year but we’ll see.
Nice one. I've been Tee-Total for just under 4 months myself, and have to say I feel much, much better for it
Keep it up!
