 yeah, blind. Or able to weight up the positives and negatives, rather than brand any player that makes a few mistakes dogshit.

Il change blind to blind and completely delusional ;).

  2. Nobody said you had made anything up. I think the players are garbage. Massively overated on this site some of them. However, once again I'm watching a villa team not even trying.

Where has the Brighton performance gone? They're garbage but they're not as bad as what I saw last night..... and that's why I'm asking questions of the manager. Not asking for him to be sacked, just that I think he could be doing better despite the crock of shit he's working with. In fact, I know he can... I've seen it with my own eyes v Brighton.

    No exactly my point.

Look, none of us have the answers......just naturally frustration.

but realistically and even unrealistically, who could hand on heart say anyone can fix this in this time scale and the Constraints.

This manager needs support from everywhere in the club and time to work his experience.

This manager need's to put out a team of players that look arsed... first and foremost.

Do you not think that it's anything to do with players? He inherited a mess that wasn't his. 15 games in and apparently he "can't do the basics". Which is exactly what he has done. We're far more organised than under the previous manager. Unfortunately a number of important players are now away and, surprise, we've lost a few.

Yes of course I think it's something to do with the players. But that today wasn't organised.

Yeah you might say we've lost 2 important players.... One is really not rated on this site fwiw but that does not excuse going to a dark caldren like molineux, facing a mighty team like wolves and not mustering a single shot on target.

    Wake up.

  5. As it stands... He can't organise 11 players to do the basics and be organised with some purpose. After a promising start his overall purpose is... ok. Hence why we're 13th n miles off the pace.

Somehow he constantly manages to flip flop between excellent and awful during games.

One minute he makes a good interception, goes on a 40 yard run down the left beating 3 players and gets a cross in. Next minute he's passed the ball to an opposition player 10 yard away.

Not flip flop at all. He was brilliant for 10 seconds. Dog shit for the rest.

All in all, since he signed.... awful.

That will be seen as ott negative tripe by the ppl that are seemingly blind to the dogshit rubbish he consistently dishes up.

I have to say, that is very much not the impression I get from reading your posts.

You can't have it both ways. Either the manager has done well to get 25 points from 15 games with poor players, or the players are excellent and he's really underperforming.

So I cant have it that both the manager and players are underperforming at the same time.......... ok.

  8. All about next season.

    Literally no chance.

Not replacing gestede as a different option and not having a midfielder in place by the 14th jan shows that this is all directed at next season.

Get ready for some roller coaster highs watching bruce's men

So which is it, poor manager or bad players? Because you lose enough sleep over slagging off all the players.

My point is..... and has been for a few weeks (despite ridicule) is that while the players need improving they are NOT as bad as what we have just watched or what we watched v Norwich, Cardiff, Leeds etc. And despite ridicule again, results (a few weeks ago) really did mask performance.

Dire.... and whilst the players are clearly not good enough to get promoted... I'm questioning (that's all) whether the manager is good enough.

    Nor Steve Bruce's.

One inherited a mess who had won, what, 3 game in 18 months?

The point was that ppl would bring up the players not being his as an excuse. Thank you for confirming my point further

I think you'll find Newcastle battered us. I remember cos it was one of the few Villa games I have managed to get to.

Disagree. It was 2-0 very early on. Then young scored and we just couldn't get another, not through want of trying. Carew had one disallowed I believe.....

    Anyway.... totally OT :)

    -------------- Johnstone --------------

    Bree -- Chester -- Baker -- Amavi

    ------------------Jedinak ---------------

    ---------Lansbrini -- Hourihane ----

    Adomah ----------------------- Brady

    ----------------- Kodjia ----------------

Bench: Bunn, Bacuna, Elphick, Tshibola, Grealish, Ayew, McCormack

If we can get those two midfielders in asap, then it gives us the rest of the window to try for Bree and Brady (or alternatives).  That would give us (on paper) an absolutely cracking side and an incredibly strong bench (ignoring the fact that a couple of them might go)!  Plus it also means we wouldn't need Hutton, Westwood or Gardner in the match day squad, now wouldn't that be nice!

    At last!!!!!!

A potential team that has purpose, structure and balance and a possible identity of what we might try and do in games.

Sick to the back teeth of just randomly plonking players together for the last 5 years because nobody has a clue where they play, including the manager.

  13. Westwood being sold would be a huge step in the right direction. He is Mr Aston villa for me, for all the wrong reasons...... not because he's our 'go to' guy but because he opitimises everything we have become.

Its stuff like this that we need to get more involved in.....I don't know this player......but I don't see the big money signings getting us back to where we want to be.....having said that I can accept thats what we need to do for the "here and now"

long term, I like your view.

Think we'd have some competition for him. A few of the big boys watching him too. I'm sure there is many others who are equally as good potentially but I think there's big question marks over our ability to nurture young talent. However that's a different topic.

  15. We sent scouts to watch regan slater of Sheffield utd the other night. Spoke about him a few weeks back. Very very highly rated cm. Not a signing that would push us on this year but perhaps one to look out for in the next couple of years.
