Try to imagine where we would be right now if Randy was still here*.
Well in reality there isn't much worse it can get. I mean what are we? 18th?

A man who is as deluded as he is enthusiastic.
At the end of the day, if you're ranting to Stan colly more on twitter you don't have the required focus on your multi million pound business.
Ridiculously unrealistic goals being abysmally executed.

Surely not??
He hasn't stooped this low has he?

It wasn't pretty but he was winning. With a terribly poorly balanced squad he was winning.
I think this is potentially interesting. How ironic he quotes wages being because of high expectancy. Atm, he can't handle the expectancy. Chips were down.... could do no worse......went on a run. Got within 3 points of the playoffs before Xmas. Suddenly playoffs were an expectancy rather than a hope.... Bang. Implosion!

It's one of the rare things I agree with @Woodytom on is that Norwich was one of the worst performances I've ever seen.
Genuinely the most toothless pathetic display I have seen. Was a major major sign of things to come and we've never really recovered bar a couple of what I'd class as 'jammy' wins looking bk.

If you meant this season fair enough but of your referring to ever that that isn't true.
I classify the brentford gme worse than Norwich. At least we kind of defended ok vs Norwich!
It's ever and note that it's games 'I've seen'. Like I say... I'm not going over it again. We all interpret games differently. For example the Luton game. Horror show..... but we scored a goal. We at least looked likely at times.

Norwhich was bad but worst you seen? Give me a break. I can think of 5 games on top of my head by a country mile that were worse than that
8-0 Chelsea
6-1 Southampton
4-0 arsenal final
3-1 Luton
6-0 liverpool
I'm not going through this again. The point was that the signs were well and truly there, a while back...... and they were highlighted by some.

where I differ from some fans, I don't see this being fixed by another manager anytime soon.
I don't think we differ too much here. I genuinely don't know a possible candidate who is realistic and would almost guarantee improvement like when MON took over.
We do seem like a poisoned chalice. I didn't want Bruce, wanted wagner and although I expected dull football, I'll be honest, I wasnt expecting this rubbish.
If there is some underlying issue that is evident to him then he needs to come out and say. Just be honest...... I for one will stand by him. However, until he does that, our form and indeed brighton's continued good form, will sustain my opinion that him and Calderwood are way way way out of their depth.

There must be someone out there with half a **** clue about what they are doing? Surely?

Mike, its hard to defend.
but like I said to VC you wasn't so certain a few weeks ago when he was basking in the sun of 8 wins....I guess it's easier to heard at present.
Some of us were asking serious questions quite a while back.
Remember my concerns regarding the Norwich game, which I stand by as the worst performance I've seen from a villa team.

More pfe hyperbole from me a couple of months back when I said he was vastly overated

not just a standaone manager who spends an age just grabbing the odd random coach from anywhere...
That tickled me.

More BS.
The reason why the wage bill is so high is because it continues to be atrociously managed.

I'll put my hand up Woody, I gave you some grief over your perceived negativity but right now it looks more like wisdom. We are shite
I genuinely want the best for Aston villa but yes my perceived PFE etc, was just me being realistic as to what I see.... We genuinely could be league 1 next year. I don't think we will fwiw.

He was shit from moment 1. Just looked a bit pumped up at Hillsborough so the hype commenced.

Yeah true. I forgot to mention the disappointed. I was so excited for that final especially after our semifinal performance. Never been so gutted by anything before.
Agreed. It was pretty grim.

At Wembley, in front of millions worldwide. Unbelievably humiliating.
Trust me. The vast majority of those watching worldwide Won't have even battered an eyelid at villa's performance.
We're really not that important to external fans.

Yep, It's my first season as a ST holder and I'm already pondering moving out of the Holte for next season.
Even when we were winning it was **** depressing because the people around me are so negative.
Not that I'm sat in the holte or even a ST holder but you can't believe that negative opinions at this stage are wrong.
Whether you like to hear opinions that are negative or not, I don't believe that you genuinely feel there is much, if anything to be positive about.
I mean, about the only positive this season as it stands in the grand scheme of things, is that we're not in a relegation battle...... not that I would consider that a positive really.

I would say sherwood would get more out of these players than Bruce. Certainly in an attacking sense.
That said, they're both garbage.

Oh okay, good idea, let's do that then. Hang on though, what if appointing 'the right one' doesn't work immediately though?
Should we get angry, frustrated and sack him in 5 months too, despite the fact we were all sure he was progressive and a much better fit than Bruce?
Ok, yeah, let's do it right now. No time to waste. Can't take this pain any more, we absolutely have to have new hope immediately.
Well hopefully, if as you point out, we ALL agree that he is more progressive than Bruce then we will see some form of improvement within 5 months.
That's the thing here.... nobody wants Bruce gone because we're not knocking down the doors the champions league. People want Bruce gone because the 5 months under him have been as bad as the utter turd we've put up with for 5/6 years...... and if anything, it's getting worse.
Hire the right man and things will improve. Keep making bizarre appointments (eg garde, Rdm) or hiring managers who are terrified of defeat (mcleish and bruce) and we will continue to be dished up this crap.

We pay ridiculous transfer fees and wages for players who (ok some have talent).... but are coming for the wrong reason. If Aston villa wasn't a big enough pull for conor hourihane without quadruplING his wages then we don't want him.
I'm not for one minute suggesting hourihane alone is the issue.... but there's no desire to play for Aston villa. It's all about money... where it wasn't for Barnsley.
It's an issue that's spiralled out of control from the moment we started giving very poor players ridiculous contracts off the back of a few good games.
It doesn't work. It's not even been full proof at the top clubs. Man utd are a great example. Man City and Chelsea..... very hit and miss at times.
What happened to Leicester when they started handing out unreal money to the likes of vardy. The focus came away from the hard work and togetherness and shit's hit the fan.

The club is poison, SB may not be everyone's cup of tea but he's record in this league is exceptional. Something is inherently wrong at this club that saps the life out of everything that goes into it.
Probably me and my OTT negativity.

Who has turned on him? Just highlighted his failings.
On your point thof. .. How did he ridiculously back rdm? He sacked him after 11 games. He also basically told him before the start of the season if he wasn't in the top 6 early on he'd be gone.
Why is it that pumping 100m into a football club is seen as a guaranteed positive.
The 100m has been spent poorly... and dare I say it'd been a lot less than 100m if he'd wound his neck in with his ridiculous statements about being the best team in Europe within 5 years.
He slates the players.... on twitter. I'm all for holding the players responsible but in the right way.
So he's appointed experience ppl in the right places? Wow. Hardly rocket science. And they've not even worked out so as it did with Lerner (when he employed failures), the buck stops with Tony.
