Jesus amavi

All over the place

Hutton has been as good as amavi.

Harry Redknaapp tried to swap Bale for Downing a couple of times when he was Spurs boss ... guess some people have a better eye than others
Eh?
In one example you've supported your own argument.... bale being underated but at the same time supported mine.... downing being overated.
A 25m left back does not get smoked in this league like he did twice in that half.
-
Another 45 mins of dross in this utterly appalling league.

Took him 5 seconds to give the ball away.
Abysmal player.

Can't wait for the AFCON. Won't have to watch him taking the same player on over and over again.
-
You have to question the sanity of anybody who thinks this kid is worth 25m based on that first half display.

All that matters is the now and getting us back into the prem.
then we can assess/improve the team as required. Until then, I wouldn't consider selling our best lb.
So why previously mention that he can hold his own in the prem..... prompting me to say that that was debateable?

He is our best left back, non debatable.
Then again it appears you don't rate any of our players.
I was saying that it's debateable regarding him being able to hold his own in the prem

Sorry, I can't see through all the gloom.
All the gloom of someone not thinking amavi is that good?

amavi is one of our best and would be able to hold his own in the prem if we get back up
Judging by some of his performances last year and some of them this year (Norwich away), that statement is very debate able imo.

I get the feeling you'd complain if we accepted the bid too. The club can't win.
You're completely wrong.

But I just don't see what a lot of people see in him, hence I would snatch someone's hand off for £25m.
You and me both. Think he is the definition of inconsistent and makes some truly awful decisions.
25m is beyond insane and the fact that it now seems to be from some Chinese team that probably hasn't the faintest idea what they're doing (see 60m for oscar), goes some way to explaining that insanity.
I'm all for this standing strong and keeping your best players but I can't see us missing Jordan amavi at all given the likelihood of us replacing him should we receive such an obscene fee.
That said, if said club comes back and offers 30m then we will have played a blinder.

However unlike you I don't think that is implausible and as a result I don't think 2 points per game is out of reach. If we can add a couple of decent midfielders, I expect us to improve on it.
I don't think it's implausible, I just don't think it'll be enough given the likelihood that there will probably be 6 other teams (that are already above us) that will continue to average a similar ppg ratio.

Well yeah, that's 12 games played and about 40% of those games were against good sides. Why do you think we've only played dross teams under Steve Bruce?
I never said we'd only played dross. I said we'd played a lot of dross. Against the better teams our results haven't been great bar the reading game.

What like Brighton, Leeds, Norwich, Reading and Fulham, all who are above us in the table? (well not Norwich any more)...
No like wolves, brum, Cardiff, qpr, Wigan, Blackburn. All that are below us.

2 points a game since Bruce started - I expect that to continue...
We're not going to play the same shite teams Bruce has played. We've played a lot of dross since his arrival.

Why is it worrying? All it says about the dr is that he wants the player more than he needs the money, I see nothing but a positive in that, hopefully a sign of things to come, it's safe to say the previous regime would have sold him for less
Just adds to the problem making it even more unaffordable to become competitive in this game. Rejecting 25m for Jordan amavi is ridiculous and goes along way to explain why we were charged 60m for a load of shite in the summer.

ridiculous
Because they've never been known to pay well over the odds for players have they? Especially if it's Liverpool

Won't happen. Last night proves imo, what I've been saying for a few weeks. Too many teams to make up too many points. We've been 6/7 points off for a few weeks now. Not making any inroads really. We need too many teams to drop points for us just to be within a game, nevermind get in there, never mind stay in there.
I think Thursday is a must win. Lose and it's pretty much over for me.

Well well well... Seems like another club thinks he's worth 25m too, not so laughable really ...
Even more laughable tbh given that it means multiple persons share that viewpoint.
What is worrying is one of those people is our owner.

Not good enough this Steve.
Simply can not play like this week in week out and continue to get results.
