Defence has to be key now. At least a LB and a CB. Does KEA do what Kayal and Wanyama do? Agreed Defence will be strengthened IMO Possibly Ramis and would love Kjaer but that wouldnt happen Kayal is more attack minded and Wanayama is a midfield destroyer.... could work alongside KEA...

Remember Lambert got Grant Holt scoring lots @ norwich.... 15 last season 20 odd the season before... yes Holt is a little more mobile than Carroll but I think we could get a return of around 12 goals for Carroll and maybe 15-20 for Bent.... add in Gabbys total with the midfield chipping in... we would be in a good position!

To be honest us getting Carroll (IF) I don't see how it would get Liverpool out of a hole? they still payed 35million for him and we wouldn't even consider paying that I think it would be around 10-15m if any deal was going to take place and that would most likely be after a years loan. Also I think he would score lots if we got good service into the box... He's a beast of a bloke who towers above defenders and can either knock the ball down to Bent or can score himself, in theory it would be a good partnership that would get us 30 goals a season from the both of them "if" it worked! All Ifs and buts But for me I'd love Carroll down the villa! XD

I don't think we should be doing any deals - buying or selling with Liverpool. If liverpool have paid £35m for a players whose worth £6m - it shouldn't be up to us to get them out of that mess. ...and how long before a certain villa player is linked with a move in the opposite direction ? - if that happened I would loose a lot of faith in Lambo. Well to be honest I agree on not bailing Liverpool out, but Carroll is a good player and a loan to buy for around 10m wouldnt be bad business. On DB9 I don't think Lambert would let him leave unless sill money came around (20-26m)

I'd take Izzaguire in a second, great player Agreed would love Simon Kjaer and Ramis at Centre half but unfortunatly Kjaer is beyond us atm.... I reakon Ramis will join us tho, the links won't die down and he wants to move!

get them in... i'd rather us take a chance of these two (Doumbia and Brahimi) for what 3-4m for both all together? (2m for Doumbia and 2.5 for Brahimi after a loan) than Snodgrass for 4/5m.

I still hope we go after Clyne. I'd hope so but after his agent messing around I doubt we will come back in for him unless they come crawling back... then it would be on our terms..... I'd like Koybasi, Anita or Olsson as they are all young (22-24) should be good value, (I'd say Koybasi @ around 5m, Olsson @ 3m and Anita @ 7m). Centre half wise I think we will sign Ramis soon if twitter and the press are anything to go by.
