  1. yep was about to post the very same thing, the no Celtic players quote was very illuminating Funny I didn't read MON's comments as saying he wouldn't be after any Celtic players, he doesn't say that. I think this says it really: Ooops! Now when I read it I must agree with you...he only says that he hasnt been near Celtic and wont be...concerning Shunsuke Nakamura! This is somewhat wordtripping...he doesnt say that he wont be near Celtic for any player...there might still be one deal on the cards anyway...like Boruc.
  2. That is a high price for a player in his age. Luca Toni is quality, but for £7.5m...hm... 30 years old...I understand why Fiorentina sold him. He might have 2-3 seasons left in him, but probably not in the same form as he has been.
  3. This is the boy Villa has taken to trial from Sweden and Helsingborgs IF. If Villa want to buy him if he has impressed on MON then he will cost somewhere around £500.000.
  4. Yes...but when we talk about youngsters, Moore is often included...
  5. Quite right. The "youngster" tag seem to follow a few players a long way into senior level even though a youngster should be considered something else after reaching 20... I mean...do you say youngster about Obi Mikel? Fabregas? Villa players seems to be both youngsters until proven skilled enough...and the same goes with the word "talented/promising".
  6. Don't get me wrong, Schneider is class and all that, but I just don't see this signing materialising, especially if we get NRC. MON bought Petrov last year for 8mill, and he is an attacking midfield. I believe he will be a big big star for us next season, wants he gets a pre-season in him, and he is obviously more settled. Is Petrov now going to be benched?! I don't think so. Can't see Schneider coming for that reason alone. Hope I'm wrong and they can play in the same team together, somehow. Why do you compare Sneijder with Petrov and NRC? Sneijder would fit in perfectly with Barry, NRC and Petrov! So where does Young play? Our nearly 10million pound signing. He is abosloute class, and certainly won't be dropped. I suppose Petrov, NRC and Schneider will suffer from rotation. We'll see. Unless we play 5 in the middle, which is an option. Young - Petrov - NRC - Barry - Schneider ^^^ Very strong! We surely need to get harder competition for places and wouldnt it be great to even have a bench that easily could make a difference in a game? Wesley Sneijder is such a versatile and skilled midfielder that he can play in numerous places. Young can play either left or right midfield...an as a striker...so why do you think that they all fight about one place and why do you think that the team will look the same every game? Young could be first choice in away games because of his pace...whereas Sneijder is stronger and more skillful and could be more suited for a strong midfield at home. A "rule" nowadays, if you´re going to be successful, is that you should have two equally good players for eache position in order to have a strong squad that would be competetive. We are far from a team like that. What are we going to have behind the first eleven? Kids? If we can get world class players that are versatile (as MON seems to want) then we will have a very good squad indeed. We would be almost equally strong no matter who get injured..that would be quite awesome.
  7. Why do you compare Sneijder with Petrov and NRC? Sneijder would fit in perfectly with Barry, NRC and Petrov! And if you wish to compare Sneijder with them he will boss every single one of them around because Sneijder is pure class. You are talking about a world class player in one of Europes finest national teams. Wesley Sneijder is gold if we get him! I´ve seen him on many occasions and he surely has a value around £10-12m. If he was english any team would have to fork out over £20m for player like him...believe me.
  8. Nasri is a "wonderkid" and with the right development he have every chance of becoming the new big star from France. For him to come to Villa would take a lot from both Villa and him. The best clubs in the world would probably be in for him and Arsene Wenger would go crazy if he miss out. :winkold:
  9. 12 million. Apparently he wants to go Valencia and the president want to buy him against the wish's of the Coach. This was a week ago and nothing has been mentioned since. IMO it wont happen. He would bring a lot of flair and creativity to a Villa midfield also pitching in with goals. Last player i can think of who did this was Lee Hendrie. The times I have seen him are for Holland playing just behind strikers and dictating most of the forward player. Outstanding player from what I've seen. It has been mentioned that Ajax has turned down two offers for Sneijder from Valencia and the player is now up for grabs as Valencia has yet to decide if they want to table a third bid or turn to someone else... Wesley Sneijder, Phillip Lahm and Gianluca Buffon would be great as Big signings! Think about a team looking like this: Buffon Lahm, Mellberg, Young, Bouma Young, Nigel Reo-Coker, Barry, Sneijder Carew, Defoe Reserve team: Sorensen Delaney, Laursen, Cahill, O`Halloran Maloney, Gardner, Petrov, Berger Agbonlahor, Moore Williams Taylor Osbourne
  10. Jermaine Defoe, Nigel Reo-Coker and Luke Young might be very realistic targets for MON. I would be very pleased with those signings... And after those deals we head for the BIG BOYS in Europe to sign. Sign ´em up MON! Sneijder and Huntelaar here we come!
  11. But rumours suggest they want to sign Andrew Johnson for £13m and give him £90,000 a week wages. That is just CRAZY money... Well...Johnson aint just shit and we dont know if there is any truth of that. But if they can splash out that kind of money then they will be a real threat for MON build up.
  12. I am very surprised at some posts here about how West Ham act in the transfer market. Remember that many on here wanted Curbishley as our new manager hadnt MON option turned up...all of a sudden Curbishley seem crazy on the transfer market and he also seems to be a manager thathasnt got a clue... Well...I think you might be in for a hard surprise here...Curbishley obviously has money to spend and he is eager to get the best players available. He did great at Charlton with a very small budget and now he seems to have a budget in the same fold as MON. I like the way West Ham show ambition by being aggressive on the transfer market. You be fooled if you think that Eggert and Curbishley dont know what they´re doing... I can see Parker coming to West Ham and they might even get Barton. I wouldnt be surprised if Bent was coming too. I think that some of you really have to take notice that there are clubs like West Ham out there that might disturb Villa build up and MONs targets. I respect Curbishley and thinks he is one of the greatest managers in England.
  13. and neither are west ham, however at least 1 of the 2 is going to them. London and wages...probably also what they are willing to pay for the player. We cant ignore the Curbishley factor too...he is well rated among players and other managers. There was many at this site that would´ve loved him here before Martin O´Neill came in...
  14. Or next Chelsea... :winkold: I dont think for a minute that Eggert Magnusson is that stupid so he jepardize West Ham United FC. You call him Mr Egghead, but as far as I am concerned he has shown ambition and financial muscles when needed. They are building a team which would be there for a long time...they are not spending big on bad or old players...they are mixing experience with young talents. I think West Ham is doing exactly right.
  15. how is he better ? Robben playing one great game in 5, or Barry doing the business week in week out ? NO CONTEST as for Solano. i stand 100% behind my he never turned up away comment. i trust my own eyes. he was a disgrace on the road the majority of the time One play for a league winning side and one plays for a midtable team. I dont mean that Barry is worse or anything but you need to put prospective and reality inside your valuation. The quality Robben has overshines Barry but Barry is probably more consistent...at a slightly lower level.
  16. Huntelaar you're kidding right?. Isnt Sneijder primarily a left winger which we dont need?. People need to get a sense of perspective. It's amazing that if a player linked to Villa isnt some world star he's slagged off to high heaven. where the hell has all this bullshit come from?. Higher ambition and expectations maybe? If MON can get Sneijder I think he will move any player in his way. Sneijder is class and if he plays on the left then Barry can go into the middle and Young take care of the right side.
  17. MON said quality AND quantity...how do you all know that we cant get Bellamy. Koumas, Sneijder and Huntelaar in one big swipe? We dont know what kind of money MON have and what the clubs strategy is so why compare those players in the first place? It isnt like Lernar, Krulan and MON has told us that we can only have one candy from the candy box and then no more...
  18. Sneijder doesnt seem to be only a dream according to this story on TeamTalk.com... Sneijder want out BTW...it is summer and sun in Sweden today...maybe even in all scandinavia...lovely weather so that cant be it dont_do_it_doug.
  19. David Silva and David Villa is beyond us...at least for two years. Maybe we have money for the deals with any of them...I dont know...but they will not go to Villa because we´re not in Europe and they are in their absolute peak.
  20. Sneijders proposed move to Valencia has fallen through because the clubs cant agree on fee. That means it is all open now. I´m not saying that he is Villa bound, but what I am saying is that we´re going to sign a player in his status or more. That is my belief and understanding.
  21. Sneijder is not unlikely Nick...not at all...I think that a player like that is just what is coming. I have a feeling we´ll see a transfer revolution at Villa. I can also get disappointed, but there is something in the air at the moment and I can almost feel it... Lerner is not going to play around and not show ambition and muscles. MON is quiet as a mouse and that I think is the only way to make this things happen. The first signing might be NRC, but he is not the main attraction...he can be the main distraction. :winkold:
  22. John Lennon can be good to make players calm down after a game...what? Neil Lennon and Alan Thompson? Stuck in a time warp Nick? Villa should be way beyond players like that..or are you having a laugh about MON/Lennon-Thompson/Celtic link?
  23. He's nowhere near Abramovish in wealth though and he doesn't beat Randy and his family's wealth either, otherwise he would have gotten Liverpool when he went in for them, apparently he's also a wanted man back in Thailand too so the whole thing looks fishy. I hope we get Nigel before he get's on the plane with the u21's because if we don't and he plays well we'll have a fight on our hands, Well...he is very close to Lerner. His total wealth I dont know but when he sold the telecom company he made $2bn!! taxfree!! He has approx somewhere between $3-4bn I would guess... 2004 family wealth
