  1. The only way that MON has moved away from Sneijder is if he has told MON he wants to move to Spain. £10m for a player like Sneijder is cheap...his true value is somewhere between £13-17m... And...can people stop with this ridicolous fantasy names and then link them to us in this thread. It is only getting irritating and it will only get people in bad mood reading pure shit that doesnt have any truth in it. I understand that some people get annoyed with the link-saga going on with Villa at the moment, but to be so childish to sit and write posts that are 100% fiction with 100% fiction players is unbelievable...please stop! Afonso Alves was a hit in Sweden. He played for Örgryte IS in the highest league in Sweden and was a huge success. He has scored like crazy in his new club Heerenveen in Holland. He will probably win UEFA Golden Boot this year. I dont know if he would be a success in England and he would probably cost quite a lot...a very good striker...but still a little kind of lottery.
  2. Yes he might love life there but Boca chairman has gone out and said that he is returning him to Spain because his wage demands is too much for them to bare... You find it here
  3. Henok Goitom. Swedish wizzkid that has worked in the shadow from Zlatan, but is a very high skilled attacker/winger. He is not that big so to take him on board covering for Sutton doesnt make sense... Riquelme is quite gettable...he is to return to his club in Spain because Boca Juniors cant afford his salary and therefor not interested in making his loan into a permanent deal. He will change club soon...hope it is Villa.
  4. Sounds good to me too...but where to put Young? Sorensen ? Mellberg Laursen Bouma Maloney Petrov Barry Young Agbonlahor Carew I think the team looks quite ok. I would put energy on the right defence and right midfield. A new goalie that would push Sorensen or even take over his place. A central defender of bigger class than what we got. A central defensive midfielder together with a maestro attacking midfielder. A proven striker and a left winger...and we´re ready for the new season! Boruc, if rumours says right he will be great for us Ferreira, or another in the same class Shaun Wright Phillips, or another in the same class Matt Taylor, if rumours says right I am ok with this Phil Jagielka, if rumours says right I am ok with this Central defender of high class Central defensive midfielder of high class Striker of high class The areas where I havent put a name into it is where we should go BIG...that would take the team to another level and improve us hugely. As you can see I expect at least 8 new signings this summer...C´mon Martin!
  5. Thats right...end of comparison. So he might be very good for Villa because we have shortage in that area.
  6. Thanks Ahamaad. I will just get my skirt on and move to another topic...or talk about something else. Sorry for the disturbance... :winkold: Bouma has been marvellous for us this season and he looks like the player he was before he came to Villa. Next season will be great for him and Villa! Dont know much about Ferreira, but I rate Bouma very highly so Ferreira would have to be a cracking player to move Bouma out from my eleven!
  7. Such a disrespectful post. I would´ve expected much more from you than this kind of humiliating to my intelligence. Trying to score funny points by making me look stupid is the lowest I´ve seen on this site... It is totally clear to me that you dont understand anything of what I have been saying on this thread, and that is sad...for you.
  8. £12 million for Bellamy is way too much! I do think that MON feels the same because he seems to know a lot about value of money and players. He knows Bellamy so he can surely weigh up how much money he´s worth. Bellamy is a good player, but as someone said earlier...with his baggage he is way too expensive and way too much a risk to take for £12m! I dont agree with the valuation of £4m either...his value should be around £8m. He is quality on the pitch and to sell him for £4m is bad business for Liverpool. They want to recoup some money and they willl not sell him on the cheap because of the "Golf tour with Riise".
  9. Juninho is great, but I dont think he is the type of player MON is looking for...he is a little bit too old. However...their squad has some very interesting players. I hope Villa wont gor for Källström as I feel he is too slow for Premier...(and I am Swedish!)
  10. You read my intention perfectly right. Thanks! There is no bad feeling at all about the Lerner regime, I hope they stay forever! I love Martin O´Neill and I have a feeling he can bring success for the club. I am just commenting the way it always seem to go for Villa when the transfer market has opened (yes I know..not yet). We always seem to be slow starters and I would love us to go out and show we mean business from day one. We have the artillery...we have the plan...just go out and knock ´em down! :winkold: One big signing of true quality would make me relax until July....(just so you know :winkold: ). Just think of how proud everyone would be and how much good publicity Villa would get if we knocked everyone of their seats with a giant signing. It would rock the foundation that the big spenders have laid down whereas every other club seem to wait until the big guns have shown their cards and after that it is happy hour for every other club. I say...lets rock that foundation...lets show the big guns that there is a new giant entering the arena!
  11. There is a lot of time left, but this waiting and not hear anything drives me crazy. I just hope that Villa would be a starter for once and not always sit and wait... I know I made a post a little bit over the top, but I´ve seen good players passing us by that would do good for us...
  12. Why is it sooooo bloody hard for Villa to be the quickest team to get their men? Why do we always seem to wait until the final lap is on? I cant bloody understand this... I hope there is news soon about us signing SOMEONE or I go crazy! Many teams has already made good signings...like Portsmouth, Manchester U, Chelsea, Tottenham...we need to be aggressive on the transfer market and not wait for everyone else to take their share before we steps in to get the best of the rest!!!
  13. Eidur Gudjohnsen and Luis Fabiano is class....any of those and it will be a great signing.
  14. I think Villa should go for Julio Baptista. Arsenal has lethim go back to Real Madrid because they choose not to make his deal permanent. I´ve seen enough of Baptista to see that he would give us something special that we dont have now. He´s quick and he is tough to meet. Very athletic. He also has an eye for goal because he made loads for Sevilla before he went to Real Madrid and Baptista was sacrificed by Real because of the Reyes deal. I like Baptista...
  15. First...he would never leave Milan. Second...IF he was to leave he wouldnt choose Villa because we dont play CL. CL is one of his true goals left as a footballer and he still has the drive to want that trophy again and again and again. Third...We couldnt afford his salary and he wouldnt want to switch the city of Milan to Birmingham. It would mean a huge stepdown in class, both in football and in every day life...so this is really no need to speculate about.
  16. A player like Paolo Maldini would never come to Villa....he is too classy...even at being almost 40 years old! He is a God at AC Milan and Italy...I dont think he needs a new challenge...he´s going to play for Milan another year and then retire as a hero of all time. Wonderful player and a fantastic character.
  17. Exactly, whoever thinks kaka is a realistic target for us is obviously around 12. What is OS? Official Site of Aston Villa FC...
  18. You've missed my point entirely tricella. Nope...I havent really...but what I meant is that I hope Villa buy players that will improve the first team hugely. I understand that MON is looking at the big picture...and not only trying to get a quality first team. I still think that Villa need to focus on the Big ones first and foremost because we are a little bit behind in quality on the first team. If we buy "potential players" first and then try to get a few giants...we might end up in a difficult position and lose out on the best prospects this summer. I dont think that will happen, but you can never know.
  19. I have never felt that taking players that might be good in th elong run is what Villa needs to do...for me I have always had a wish that the club would go BIG in order to take the first team to another level. We have good youth within our squad, so why buy another one that is not guaranteed to be a successful footballer? I cant see the logic in this. Villa need to improve the first team and we can never do that by taking players in that doesnt fit the first eleven. We are in another position now with Lerner and that they have an outspoken policy to take quality players in this summer. To take players from the scottish league doesnt forfill my definition of quality players. A few might do it in Premier, but many doesnt simply have the skill nor the potential. To see players like Muntari, Distin and a few others going to teams that is in the same fold as Villa make me feel sad. Both Muntari and Distin would´ ve given us a lift in quality. They are not the only ones that can do that...but there isnt going to be too much players that is up for grabs really. We can end up with a shit summer tbh...but it is far too early to fear that today...however...Villa should step up a few gears in order to get players to the squad that will ease further signings that is truely quality and BIG.
  20. And so are Harry Redknapp. His record of bringing top quality players to teams speaks for itself. Of course he has had flops too, but I am truly amazed that he can get players like he gets and be at Portsmouth. Saying this it is simple to understand that Villa has had managers missing the true chance of getting players suitable for the clubs status. I just hope that MON will break this curse on us and bring in some top players that will knock us of our chairs! Talks about Naismith and so on...seems more like the curse is still holding on to us... Players like Muntari and Distin would certainly lift us...not to talk about last seasons buy of Campbell. Yes...Harry Redknapp impresses me...and I am also impressed by Sam Allardyce for the same reason. I dont know how they do it, but they do it very good and they show great ambition!
  21. Mavuba is a very good defensive midfielder that I would like to see at Villa. Also...I read that Mido is on his way out of Spurs...that can mean Defoe staying. Mido for Villa? Well...when he is good he can be brilliant, but he has some attitude issues...and might be too much of a risk for MON to deal with.
  22. ..They can have him.. Il drive him there myself! He would tackle you when you picked him up. And after that he wouldnt know where to go next... I just hope that it is ok rumour and that he is off. Villa must buy a player for that position anyway and I would rather see a younger player sitting on the bench and be back up for the new guy (or Petrov) rather than having McCann adding nothing to the team (playing). As everyone has pointed out that McCann is a good bloke, my thinking of him is entirely based on what he produces on the pitch....and that is far from enough.
  23. I dont like this....it is too quiet and the ones we are linked with doesnt impress me at all. I just hope that MON goes for quality and class and not trying to find "bargains that eventually can be good". Seems like we´ ve walked that road before...
  24. This last bit what you added Tric? As its not in the Mirror link. Jagielka is a good player and exactly the type i see MON going for and would improve us I added that myself...yes...because I seen what they write on Sheffield United forum and they think Jagielka will choose Villa because he have a much bigger chance of playing. Aston Villa also have a history of wanting him before...but it can be that they are just jumping the gun. I think the earlier Montgomery link was way off the mark because we are after Jagielka...something is going on and I have a feeling he can be MON first signing.
