The stand remake is really good

Yeah, it’s pretty decent so far.

I’ve never read the book all the way through. I started it about 18months ago, got 25% in and haven’t been back to it, so I only know the start of the story anyway, which is probably a blessing or I’d be spending most of the time comparing it to the book.

  2. I’m gonna piss myself if this comes off and Reddit was right.

In the past 1/2 hour my ‘losses’ on some of the short stock they’ve been pumping have gone from $100 dollars, to $25 and prices are rising again

Game, Blackberry, Nokia and Naked Foods all on the up, if I’d got in earlier I’d making an absolute killing :crylaugh:

  3. I’ve got a few quid on this. It’s more fun than giving my money to a bookie!

I only chucked a bit at it to see what would happen and I’m holding on for now.

I can afford to lose the cash, but it’s also reignited my interest in stocks and I’ve been buying some nice long term stuff while messing about with this.

Just started American gods series 3. How refreshing having something that is easy to follow and makes total sense🤦‍♂️

I really like this show, but the 2nd series did go off on one a bit after a brilliant S1.

I enjoyed the new episode, a good ‘previously on’ to start with and then it kind of got the story back on track for me.

When I said disproportionate I meant that smokers seemed to be less affected early on, with some loose hypothesis that the virus preferred a nice set of clean lungs.

There were loads of theories initially, some suggesting more likely to catch and it be very ill and others saying less likely to catch it, but higher chance of being very ill if you do.

Some said it was down to the lungs, some said it was because smokers touch their face more often and there was a theory that nicotine prevents it spreading. Clinical trials on nicotine are ongoing and results due later this year, but on the basis we haven’t heard anything about it, I’m assuming it’s a non-starter.

I got a pair of these, for no other reason than they are awesome, and I can pretend I'm in Back to the Future.

Unless something goes wrong with supply I don't see any reason why everyone won't have been offered one by August.

That said we have to consider that they are going to need to start on the second jabs in a couple of months so "new" people will have to enter the system at lower rates than currently.

They said all along getting it into people's arms would not be the issue and that certainly seems to be the case, they haven't even opened up all the facilities yet.  I'm guessing they could go up to 500k a day if they had the supply.

    Fingers crossed.

Even if we haven’t made the NHS list by then, I’m hoping there will be enough supply that we can go private if we need to.

I’ve got no problem paying (within reason obviously), but I wouldn’t feel comfortable ‘taking a dose’ from public healthcare, I’d only do it if it was a capacity issue, rather than than supply.

Good for those airlines. I'll de definitely flying with an airline who ban non vaccinated people.

    Yup, I’m with you.

Might change my tune in late August when I’m due to go to the US and haven’t had mine though! #squeakybumtime

There’s been a few noises about ‘vaccine passports’ that has set the KBF lot off and IIRC a couple of airlines have said they may introduce a ‘vaccinated only’ policy, can’t remember where I read that though.

Airlines May Require A COVID Vaccine

So far, Qantas is the first airline to firmly state that proof of vaccination is necessary for international flights. Qantas CEO Alan Joyce called the vaccine a "necessity" once they become widely available during a November 2020 CNN interview. Statements from other airlines, including Korean Air and Delta Air Lines, indicate a vaccine will ultimately be a prerequisite.

What remains to be seen is if governments will require a vaccine to enter the country or if individual airlines will adopt new policies first.

Reading the last few pages and nodding at all the comments about the hassle of moving and the whole ponzi nature of ever increasing house prices, it makes me feel like just getting out of the whole game. In 2020, in a lockdown, house prices went up more than normal. Madness.

I must admit the thought of selling up, paying the mortgage off and then buying a narrowboat to live on does appeal to me more and more. Must have watched a hundred hours of narrowboating blogs over the last year or so.

I don’t even really want to move tbh. I know we have to really, but I am 40 and looking at taking a new mortgage that’s going to end up being roughly 3x what I pay now, over the next 25 years.

We’ve only been ‘ok’ for money in the past 3/4 years and now my disposable income is about to get wiped out again.

I know its not compulsory to be vaccinated, but I wonder what restrictions could be placed on people who aren't? Could they be banned from catching flights? Anywhere there is a mass gathering of people?

    Ugly word removed, ain't he.

    He’s the poverty Paul Bettany.

Also, I watched one of his videos the other day and judging by his nasal whine, I suspect he might be rather partial to a bit of nose candy.
