  1. @choffer This may sound a bit daft, but my wife booked a ‘rage room’ for me at some place in Brum.

They give you a metal baseball bat and 15/20 mins to smash up a load of old phones/computers/office equipment in a big empty room. I cannot tell you what a release it was. The anger kind of drained out of me there and then.

Does someone want to help me out and tell me that you do get over losing your mum?
I could never have imagined how hard it would hit.

I like to think I’m normally a pretty resilient type but three weeks in and I’m not sure I’ll ever get past the overwhelming grief.

I lost mine to cancer a few years back and feel your pain.

You go through a range of emotions. I was very angry for a while, mainly because of how she was treated by the NHS in her last few weeks. Then came the sadness/feeling of loss, which hung around for a while. It does get easier and you’ll get through it, it just takes time.

    Take care of yourself.

About £300 profit so far (only put in around £60) so I think I will probably hold a little while longer. So didn't put that much in to begin with.

And yeah I don't know really what to expect further, also just had a look at Gamestop and its still at about 278 USD, so that's going to be the interesting one

A friend of mine said he's made over 50k USD already on it and he's expecting it to go up much more.

There no denying that something is going to happen with GAME, it’s just a question of when and how big.

Our dog is quite possessive of his toys and if he’s earring something he shouldn’t be. For example my lad left a bag of sweets on the floor in the garden. I went to take them off the dog and he kept going for me, like proper nasty. He’s great with other dogs and with people but it’s something we are trying to alter with him. He’s only 5-6 months old.

As for your dog, maybe that incident with the other dog triggered something. How old is your dog? I’ve known some dogs get a bit funny when they start getting to old age.

    He’s only 16 months.

It stands a chance it was that, but it’s really weird. Yesterday he went mental at a dog he’s met, more than a dozen times before.

I’m gutted. Firm believer in ‘no bad dogs, only bad owners’, but I can’t work out what’s happened or if we’ve done something wrong. Socialising was probably the thing we concentrated on most.

I’ve got someone from Sutton coming over on Saturday to take a look. I booked him before I saw @Stevo985 post.

It’s going to cost me a fortune, so I hope it works.

  5. Has anyone in the Solihull/North Warwickshire area ever used a dog behaviourist and could recommend someone?

I’m having some issues with my Cavapoo, who has suddenly started being massively aggressive towards other dogs.

Started with a couple of larger male dogs and I put it down to a bit of fear, but it’s getting worse and he’s having a go at every dog he sees now, even one’s he’s met loads of times before.

He was absolutely fine for the first 12 months and he was well socialised, having met well over 100+ dogs out and about.

No other signs of aggression at all, he’s soft as anything in the house and just wants fuss all the time. Fine with other humans too, just going mental at other dogs for no apparent reason.

A little french bulldog had a nip at him a couple of months ago and I can’t tell if it’s come from that, but it’s becoming a major issue.

So what do you do, ride it out and see how much higher it goes or cash out?

It looks like it’s a short squeeze, so i will just ride it.

I took some profit last night, then got back in and am already up again.

It could go sky high, so I’ll just see where it goes.

Been a good week for the meme stocks.  AMC flying right now.

GameStop up over 40% this week again. AMC flying as you say.

I hope it all comes off, I’m not even bothered about the ££, I can afford to lose what I’ve got riding on Meme stocks. I just want it to be a massive FU to the professionals and institutions that called it so wrong.

I’m still not 100% sure on it all myself, hence me only risking a relatively small amount of money, but if anyone thinks the likes of WSB are just a bunch of idiots that don’t know what they are doing, well they couldn’t be more wrong.

I'm brand new to this investing/stock game. Trying to learn as I go by reading books like The Naked Trader, mucking about with virtual portfolios etc.

Bought me some Doge and turned a nice profit, or at least I would have done had I not completely misunderstood how to set a trailing stop the night of the SNL Musk show 🤦🏻‍♂️

So I'm now about 40% down on my initial investment, which hurts a touch but I'm hoping it will rebound when it goes live on coinbase in 6 weeks or so

(He said sounding like an utter novice)

Thankfully, I'm cautious by nature and not quite stupid enough to invest large sums as a novice, so my investments are with piddly amounts. Even if it all goes tits up, losses will be less than £200

Don’t listen to anyone in this thread or any other internet thread. It’s opinion and nothing more. Everyone thinks they are right, very few ever are.

Do your own DD, decide what you are trying to achieve, how you plan to achieve it, then do it and stick to it.

Be patient, be brave and don’t panic.

  9. My recent decent.

    Resident Alien - very good

Mare of Easttown - very good

The Nevers - very good, so far.

    The Terror - good

    Frank of Ireland - hilarious

    The Grinder - equally hilarious

I went to college with an ex-Villa player and his Mrs was into this. He rocked up one day with a bag containing about £20k from it, that he’d collected on the way in!

    Get Boris done.

No chance. The whoppers love him and there are far too many of them now.

I don’t think he’ll last a full term, but only because he’ll give up/be forced out his party and replaced with another Eton w****r.

Joe public think he’s ace and sticking it to the woke lefties.

The country is in the bin and will be for quite some time.

I’ve just posted in the house thread but thought I’d drop in here too. Quite often I’ve been a silent reader of this thread.

I’ve been burying my head in the sand for too long. Over the years we’ve racked up a lot on credit cards and loans, and been in a vicious cycle. We’ve always been able to pay them monthly and still had excess but the debt had been increasing, but more recently and over the last 12 months it’s been getting closer and closer to becoming an unaffordable problem.

I’ve been ashamed and it has taken a toll on my mental health. Sleepless nights worrying about it, I should and do know better but been feeling helpless to do anything about it. The debt prevents us from doing a lot of things as a family. My sister is getting married in Rhodes next year, and as it stands we simply can’t afford to get because of this debt and I refuse to put even more on a card

This week I’ve spoken to a different mortgage advisor to who looked after us previously. The previous guy wasn’t much use, and just did a product transfer without really addressing our issues.

We’re 12 months into a 2y fix, and with the increase in property price are able to finally consolidate all the debts and will save us around £700 per month even paying the ERC (current lender won’t go high enough on the LTV for debt con). This is massive. It will be such a huge weight off my shoulders and my mind. I’m vowing to never build the debt up again. And try and save! Whilst, as it stands, having a decent amount of equity in the property, we’d be at about 83% LTV consolidated everything.

I know this is small in comparison to issues discussed in this thread, but it is having a big impact on me and my marriage also. I’m hoping this all goes ahead smoothly as it will transform things for us.

Being in debt isn’t a small matter. It can be hugely debilitating and take a massive toll on both physical and mental health.

I’ve been there. 4/5 years ago I had close to £50k on credit cards. I only got out of it through a mixture of good fortune and some help from my Dad. I’d carried some of that debt for almost a decade and it’s crippling.

Still have a bit left now (more than a lot of people would be comfortable with), but I’m chipping at it with overpayments every month and hope to be completely debt free in 12/18months (mortgage aside)

looking back, I can’t believe it got to where it was and consider myself very fortunate that it didn’t pull me under.

Hope it all works it ok for you.

  13. It’s a bit of a travesty that Godfather Of Harlem is tucked away on a subscription within a subscription over here, it deserves a bigger audience.

If they can keep up the quality, it has a chance of being right up there with the very best.
