Mainoo may well turn into a fantastic footballer, but how he's done enough to warrant an England first team place at this stage is utterly baffling (and I'll admit, I don't watch Man Utd games so maybe he's utter class all the time).

I’d agree, although we lost I thought McGinn ran him ragged and showed Mainoo’s inexperience

We have one of the most talented and exciting squads in world football, but you can guarantee Henderson will be on the plane for the Euros :)

I wouldn’t play him, but we lack cms so there is some argument for him going

Question I have is whether he’s always been this way and the media didn’t show it or whether this is a relatively new thing.

I remember at one time he seemed to be an incredibly lighthearted and reasonable guy. Then there was a season (after they’d won the PL I think) where it was a tough time for the team but also him personally (think his father died or something?) and ever since we’ve seen these interviews where he comes across as a grade a tool come through with regularity.

By his own admission the relentless nature of the job has ground him down to the point he needs to quit. So question (for me) is do his personal issues + being mentally ground down explain these outbursts and he will look back in time and cringe or has he always been like this?

He’s always been like that. But he’s also yr by yr got more into the whole woe is me Liverpool

I'm a bit puzzled why Emery choses Rogers over Zaniolo, imo Zaniolo is much better and complete player. Emery sees them in training so he should know, but I think Zaniolo contributes more.

I’ve not seen today so can’t comment on how either played, but from previous views they have different skill sets. Rogers is a bit like Ramey in that he’ll get the ball from deeper and carry it forward. Zaniolo has been higher up the pitch and looking for the final ball.

  5. Gutting to lose like that. Ramos is good player but such a horrible little twerp.
To get 4 tries is still good for England, and it’s a huge step forward this tournament.
Subs killed it for us I think, that little indecision in defence just as they came in swung the game

I'm sure Dallagio has slipped down to that dressing room at half-time and slipped the England team an E each. Total transformation from England from the England team.

Is he known for taking e?

  7. France far too powerful for England so far. Couple that with England losing the ball in contact and it’s not been a great half for us. That time of the try at the end  is so vital though.

  8. My god he hit that with some power. Thought he played well, different approach to Watkins but was causing them problems. Could be a star with some refinement

But such a situation can't be helped. This could easily have been avoided. Young player playing too much football and desperately needing a rest, instead sent off to a pointless competition. A zero gain situation for player or club which the player and club are now suffering for.

I sincerely hope we learn a lesson here.

He broke his foot, it was absolutely nothing to do with playing too much football.

The worst about yesterday is they can now bang on like our form over the last 18 months is some sort of freak fluke and genius Big Ange has outwitted limited Emery etc which pisses me off no end

Has anywhere done that though? Seems you’re getting pissed off over some throng you’re creating in your head

Interesting.  Makes you wonder why they didn't go all out for a marquee manager like Conte or Poch, rather than a project one like Ten Hag.

Not really, they had the marquee signing in Mourinho, love him or hate him, he’s a winner. They had to go for someone like Ten Hag, to build a new style. Ten Hag, then got criticised and changes his whole style

Your first couple of points I can agree with the third definitely not.. he is or possibly was an exceptional heavyweight. I suspect he may have made that much money that his heart is not in any more.

As Micky said, the worst thing that can happen, you became civilised

Fury is obviously a good mover, but exceptional I’m still to be convinced. If he’d taken the fights when he should’ve then maybe, but he’s ducked too many fights for me to be exceptional. There has always been a question of his punching power
