My mate Man Utd supporting mate reckons:
Kusczack
Rafael/Neville
Brown
Vidic
Fabio
Valencia
Gibson
Anderson
Park
Owen
Berbatov
Rooney has to have a rest sometime whether he wants to or not. The only reason they had such a strong team in the semis was because it was City.
Obviously im not a utd fan so dont know what the regular team is but I think Utd will play 451
Van der sar
Rafeal
Brown
Vidic
Evra
Valencia
Carrick
Scholes
Fletcher
Park
Rooney
The full backs are quick to combat our wingers and then midfield to over play us.
Gonna to be a tight game, cant wait now...UTV

My friends and I have always known the wembley song as..."We're the famous Aston Villa and we're off to Wembley" but people at the moment are singing "We're the famous Aston Villa and we're going to Wembley"....
Anyone know why this has changed or has it always been this and we just had it wrong?

Getting a bit bored with the Carew slating now, he did OK and could have had a goal or two
But its ok for Heskey/Sidwell etc to get criticised. Carew is a fans faveourite and I think you are still looking through tinted eyes in his favour..he was very poor again today.
Disagree, he was much better than Heskey
As for Sidwell, he has turned out to be a very poor acquisition, I'm sure everyone would agree
I didnt see him do anything better than Heskey and obviously others think the same way.

Good game to watch, but really a poor performance from Villa.
Friedel - 5 - Got to take blame for at least first goal, and maybe even positioning for second even though it was a great hit.
Young - 7 - Strong as usal, glad to see him in his better position.
Warnock - 6 - Showed that he had been out for a few games but got stronger as game went on.
Dunne - 8 - MOM - Again so strong.
Collins - 7 - Tested by Lee, took goal well and his distribution was good.
This back 4 for Wembley IMO.
Young - 7 - Ran at players, but his final ball wasnt always the best..deliveries from set pieces very poor.
Downing - 7 - Looked tired, but delivery from set pieces superb
Petrov - 6 - Glad to see him get a goal, but he was far too anoymous for most of the game, also looked tired.
Milner - 6 - Looked really tired, not at his best.
Delph - 7 - Really do like the look of him. Tackles well, has a lot of energy runs at players. Not sure why he went off.
This midfield for the final, maybe rest Milner against Burnley?
Heskey - 5 - Started brightly, but then slowed and didnt offer anything.
Carew - 5 - One shot and header on goal were decent, every thing else appaling, no interest anymore.
Delfounso - 6.5 - Didnt have much ball, but still looked more dangerous than Carew and Heskey put together. Should start against Burnley, Gabby to play in final.
Made me laugh that ITV were saying we played well...when the majority of Villa fans I would imagine would believe that we played poor.
-
Surprised to see Delph go off again...Delfounso quality first run..lets hope we see more..
-
Very poor performance from England today. When will they let the backs run. We have some brilliant runners out there but the game plan is far too restrictive for them.
When I used to play I had a coach who just liked the forwards play, I hated playing under him, I went from scoring 20+ tries a season to 3 the following..
-
Well just seen another team in white scramble to win against lesser opponents following times where the ball was aimlessly pumped up field (England Rugby) Lets just hope we can get the same result.
-
Surprised at how strong we have gone considering MON said they were knackered after Man Utd game..
Oh well, good to see Warnock back. Come on the boys.

If all fit and available:
GK Guzan
RB Beye
CB Davies
CB Clark
LB Bouma
RM Albrighton
CM Sidwell
CM Delph
LM A.Young ©
CF Delfouneso
CF Carew
This...although would like A Young to have a rest as well.
You pair not want to be in the 6th round draw then?..
That's good enough to beat Crystal Palace if we play well enough.
Quite agree...why would this team not get through?
The defence is pretty strong even with 2 players coming back to fitness...Clarke looked good against Portsmouth and Palace arent better than them.
Midfield where 3 of the 4 played against Man Utd
Strikeforce could score goals and compliment each other...

At the start of the season 4 points off Utd we would have been delighted, and in a way still am. But cant help thinking that that was 2 points lost today. Utd were there for the kill today, however we sat back and looked like the team with 10 men. Cant believe how negative we were. Utd and Roney showed their class.
Can't for the live of me understand that Delph was taken off, he looked very assured. The 451 really helped him and allowed him to shine. After that the only person who wanted the ball was Milner.
-
Thought we were very poor yesterday, well apart from the defence who were all awesome.
Midfield were anoymous, didnt even realise Petrov was playing..
Carew...well he was just shocking didnt run, couldnt pass, couldnt head not interested...cant see him being here in the summer..
-
Have only seen the goals on Sky Sports so cant vote on MOTM.
Anyone know why Hangleland was moaning about Gabby's second? Seemed to me he just got turned too easily.....was there meant to be a foul?
-
Oh and Mon fighting back........again!
Wenger had earlier been less than complimentary about Villa's style, saying: "We know when you come here what you get and we were not disappointed. It is an efficient English game with long balls and they are very physical."
And O'Neill responded by saying: "That's only an annoyance really at the end of it all. Anybody who saw the game wouldn't take that viewpoint.
"If Ashley really played some long balls today - he didn't have time to play long balls when he was taking that left-back to the cleaners. It is an appalling insult."
Shearer also backed us, "I saw Ashley Young, MIlner, Downing, Petrov and Agbonlahor, any team with those dont need to play long ball, and Villa certainly didnt today. They play quick counter attacking football which really scares teams."
-
Friedel - 7 - Not over worked but what he had to do did well enough.
Cueller - 6 - Still looks uncomfortable at RB but did ok, distribution lacked at times.
L Young - 6.5 - Not as effective as at right back but did a good enough job and made some vital interceptions.
Collins - 7.5 - Strong, love his distribution (majority of time)
Dunne - 8 - Goes above Collins just because of that run! Maybe should have hit the target from a couple of corners.
Downing - 6 - His worst performance for us. Went past his man a few times and his switch of plays are always good, tired early though and shouldve been replaced by Delph.
A Young - 9.5 - Thats the Ashley Young we love... Clichy supposedly one of the best left backs in Europe was destroyed... Thats what we want from him on the right wing...go outside someone and cross..no need to constantly cut back.
Petrov - 8.5 - - His best performance this season, pressed forward more and had more of an impact on the game.
Milner - 7.5 - Not as influential as usual, but always wanted the ball and worked his nuts off. Tracked Cesc all over the pitch and stopped him playing.
Heskey - 8 - His best game of the season, linked up play brilliantly and scared Arsenal when he ran at them, shame he didnt really like scoring.
Gabby - 8 - Keeps getting stronger, couldnt be knocked of the ball and chased well. Besides his opening shot, never looked like scoring.
Delph - 6.5 - Did well enough when we changed formation, not on long enough to make a big impression.
Ref was awful, how clichy stayed on the pitch when he was constantly fouling Young I'll never know.
Crowd - Holte were quite first half, songs seemed to end prematurely. Second half lifted more and on good voice. First time all season I have heard songs started by a group in the lower north..fair play lads.
-
I bet Sidwell was fuming with the Fonz afterwards, just about to score and fonz blocked it.....
-
Marshall
Beye, Collins, Clark, L.Young
Albrighton, Sidwell, NRC (if fit), Delph, A Young
Delfounso
Yes I know we are the home team and against a lower league team so 451 seems negative...however I think all 3 centre midfielders need games more than carew (comes on as sub pretty often). I know sidders does come on, but as centre mid you need a run of games to get upto the pace more than a striker...
Was unsure over downing/young but downing did have a bad injury so may need a rest (wouldve put bannon there and rested both but obv cant do that as on loan...swings and roundabouts..)
Marshall...well when else is he ever to play for us?
Dont think MON will make quite so many wholesale changes though
-
At the moment Milner is no where in Gerrards league. Gerrard is one of the best in the world.
I have no doubt Milner has great potential but he has a lot of learning to go before he can be put into the Gerrard league.
Gerrard has constantly scored 15+ goals a season and dominated HUGE matches.
-
I thought NRC was superb today...and delph looked very good, if a little careless with his tackles.
Surprised people are saying A Young was brilliant...at times he worked hard and put in some great crosses, however there were times when he could've put the ball in first time (and the strikers were making runs accordingly) however, he didn't and had to take a man on at least once (often more) when the cross was eventually made the strikers were moving away from the goal rather than running towards it. Although there is no doubt about his ability, I think he does need to look at his decision making. Still think he is not on the form he was a couple of years ago.
Surprised that Albrighton didnt come on at some point. He did do a lot of warming up and probably would've come on if B'burn hadn't scored.
Overall a decent performance, first half we were very good but second as we have throughout the season we have taken our foot off the gas..
-
For me I would prefer winning a trophy. Even though 4th would be great.
The main reason behind my decision is that I don't think we are ready, for the quality or the amount of games that you have to play in the champs league. We play a very British style of football which although can make teams anxious and force them into mistakes, can easily be passed around by quality teams (as Arsenal who play a European style showed). Could you honestly see us getting a result against the like of Barca?
For me winning a trophy this seasin would show how we have progressed, which would hopefully lead to 2/3 quality players added to the squad in the summer. Then next season hopefully, we would then get into the top 4 and win another trophy, so that a further 2/3 players would be added to the squad the following season. Then we would be ready for the competition rigours of the champions league. Remember it is a marathon not a sprint and MON said he had the 5 yr plan...
-
Arsenal deserved the victory, better than us all over the park...shows that we are not the finished article and that the team needs to be strengthened.
Our MOM - Friedel
Arse MOM - Fabregras, closely followed by Diaby. (Our midfield couldnt get anywhere near them).
-
The only reason Santas sledge is pulled by reindeer is because James Milner was too quick and santa kept on emptying the contents of his sack in random places..
-
65-69 (I think we will be 5th)
I still think the "top 4" historically will finish there again....Yes Liverpool have dropped a lot of points but when playing well they as with all the "top 4" have the ability to go 15 games unbeaten...spurs, city, us as yet dont seem to have the ability to put runs like that together..

So what was everyones seat like?
The view was good (in block P) but was a little disappointed to be very back row considering I had not paid the cheapest amount (£54).
Did speak to Tony Daley at half time, great bloke with a good out look for the Villa, summed up the game well. Wish him all the best at Wolves.
