As I said before it's a no lose situation for Bruce now.
Start badly the excuses are there. Struggle throughout the season at the lower end of the table the excuses are there.
Villa surprise most and hover around top ten. Heralded as a miracle worker and enhances reputation ten fold.
He can't lose by staying. He isn't stupid.
Said this all along. He’s in a brilliant situation as a mediocre manager. Why would he leave?

my 10 pence
Wilshere and shelvey arent good enough, wilshere doesnt play enough football to merit an inclusion either, henderson has had a really good tournament and i think tonight showed the tactic was long and early, we didnt try and keep the ball in midfield, we pushed maguire and stones up instead
i think rashford's 2 extra time set pieces showed why young was in ahead of rose, its been the best part about us this tournament so young and trippier were key, he was shit tonight though a good yard off the pace
agree, we seemed to set up around him tonight and i thought he was excellent, no such thing as a lost cause, gave lovren and vida huge problems
agree again, ali has had a poor world cup, never looked fit, looked shattered and injured tonight
I disagree that Shelvey and Wilshere are not good enough to be in the squad although I wasnt saying they’d be guaranteed starting eleven but having them as an option off the bench instead of players like dier they offer far more, we struggled heavily in CM imo, especially tonight when Ali and Lingard went missing.
With young I’d suggest just putting Trippier on both corners and free kicks as young’s Delivery doesn’t beat Trippier’s anyway, Rose is better than young that just my opinion.
Overall though it’s been a good World Cup for England just feels very deflating right now.

While I’m proud of the lads and how far they got I do honestly feel Southgate made a some crucial mistakes.
1) Not taking a ball playing CM e.g Shelvey or Wilshere.
2) Starting Young over Rose.
3) Taking Sterling off totally killed any attacking threat we had.
4) Leaving Ali on when he was totally anonymous, Loftus-Cheek was massively underused in this tournament.
We were very good first half but when Kane and Lingard missed them BIG chances I just had a nasty feeling we would pay for it and we ultimately did, proud of England but also frustrated as this was a big opportunity missed -

Jack couldn't go anywhere if we had a transfer embargo. Even if he wanted to. Let's do it.
Can’t believe how many people don’t know how ffp, ownership or embargo’s work, you can sell but not buy with an embargo until it’s lifted.

if the club and the efl are aware of it then its not unconfirmed. Sounds like they had time to amend it and didnt
Ok let’s say it’s confirmed. Still don’t see how our situation is better, we are having to sell our best players just to keep afloat.

Yes
So a (unconfirmed) transfer embargo is worse than having to sell all you’re best players to just keep the club afloat? ok.

well they dont have money to spend. Otherwise wouldnt have an embargo
Seems you don’t understand ffp. An owner could have billions to spend but you can’t spend more than clubs incoming revenue. You need to have massive club revenue to spend big amounts (e.g Man Utd, Man City, Real Madrid etc)
-
I don’t think we are in better position really as they have money to spend but can’t, not sure we have any money in truth we are in financial ruins, what I’m getting at is both clubs are in the shit basically but SHA issue is ffp stopping them spending while we simply cant cope financially and must sell to keep afloat, suppose they can’t take the piss as much now though which is a positive.

It’s amazing how they ALWAYS go one better than us in the catastrophe stakes.
Is a transfer embargo worse than our situation though in all honesty?

When I posted it was during ET and he was losing his cool, losing his temper and was giving away possession multiple times. He was like this during he last 20 minutes as well.
Maguire was above everyone on the field in the 90 and extra time, I don’t know what game you were watching.

While we didn’t play great we were the better team and Colombia were a disgrace. It would of been a real sickener to go out to them horrible pieces of shit. Good riddance.

Bruce is now in a no-lose situation, unless we go under, which is highly unlikely. Whether Bruce walks, is sacked or just does a piss poor job, the blame will fall on the shoulders of those that run the club and have made the Aston Villa manager role more difficult than a fingerless fluffer.
The perfect excuses have already been written for him.
This is exactly what I’ve said. It’s win win situation for Bruce along with a handsome wage.

Regardless of one's belief in twitterers this chap has reared his head of late and has got a couple of things out in advance of press if memory serves - then again it is wonderfully vague.
So we might get out of this mess?

I was thinking same can’t be that good if Denmark didn’t even have him in the squad at all.

Anyone know much about that defender SHA signed, he’s called Pedersen from German league 2.

We have got very lucky with them fixtures in August/September gives us a chance to settle down after the crazy shenanigans going on. Can’t believe some are moaning, we have to play every team twice just like everyone else does, I actually think we couldn’t of asked for a better first two months to get some points on the board.
Players that you think are rubbish

No way is Rose terrible, over rated a bit possibly (he’s a decent player imo). I think Dele Alli is a massively over rated player but I thought we naming players that we think are terrible.
