the games about players, yes a good manager is a help but..this squad is weaker with no snoddy/terry/johnston..
so we have some brand new owners but the problem is spending ££ as ffp not a new manager.
were in a hole as overpaying wages etc, so will new owners pay top doe etc so its the same black hole if no promoted
when the results go bad after 6 games bruce will be sacked, he has spent nothing but 2m last year on whelan & elmo. brought in terry/snoddy/johnston on free & can not get ross out of his house gates yet but hes not a bad manager,he could have walked after wembley but hes here with us-changing manager is a gamble
if the new owners change manager, the new manager will want new players.. how with ffp is the biggest question ???

Youre not trying to be funny, but gotta laugh at these type of comments.
We were in a false position after 11 games, and were very unlucky to be there with conceding last minute goals all the time, also it was the most expensively assembled squad this division has ever seen.
Bruce had 2 cracks at it. It might only be a 2m net spend (though I think that figure is incorrect) but its the wages you have to think about, and the 5 loan players from the premier league. Which other clubs in this division can afford those types of wages? John Terry, Robert Snodgrass - these were premier league players the likes of Burton, Brentford and the rest just could never dream about signing.
outs,
veretout 4.5m
baker 4m
bacuna 1.5m
cissokho 1.3m
sanchez 250k
inns..
elmo 1m
whelan 1m
terry ..free
the above are facts on out v ins.
when the "outs" were bought the prem tv £ was greater etc, yes i get wages on johnston but he was not on huge doe as very much in development wages at utd
snoddy was on doe,
bakers fee would cover terrys wages for 2 years as he came through at villa etc,
if you google about you will find that villa spent 2m last year.

not being funny but bruce took over when villa were in bottom 6, spent 2m net last year & finished in play offs.

Sadly I could see this happening maybe one loan at best. And people think we have a chance for promotion. It's goingvto takes years and a new owner for us to get anywhere near promotion.
Xia has destroyed the club.
terry was on 2m a year, if they could not offer him 1m or 1.5m for another year even after gabbys 50 or 60k has been off the books.
could not sign johnston..
sent snoddy back & wont pay him the doe
when the results turn.. guess who gets the axe? bruce..
them the likes of gary megson will be in the dugout ffs

i dont think one player will be signed ,
i think jack will be sold & the funds used to pay loans or shoved in to "non football areas"
IF jack goes dr death might get a loan deal on a player to keep us (the fans) on board.
what a clucking mess avfc 2018

long time ago while on holiday in dominican , we used to spend most evenings with a welsh couple, year later she was on tv for her singing ..katherine jenkins

spence is a good fighter & is swerving lots of quality fighters..his main problem is marketing ..his very dull, hes not exciting to watch in or out the ring, he can not do good ppv figures & can not sell out venues. he may hold a strap but it counts for very little these days as customers want to see entertainment over a world championship defence

Wages... Terry, Jedinak, Whelan - Probably £130k a week just between those. We would’ve paid a lot of Snodgrass’ Plus a loan fee. Then you have other high earners on the books plus the wasted transfers McCormack etc and it soon adds up
i get that ..but with players going out on loan & players in ,, yes is probably costing more but surly with 13m in from sales & 2.5m spent.. is that enough to bankrupt the club ?
-
i have just googled villa transfers 2017/18 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aston-villa/transfers/verein/405
if you look it says whos on loan in -out, spends, in short 2.5m spent, sold players 13m
loans players etc, the point is its does not add up why villa are in a mess, their was still tv /gate ££ coming in etc,
ian taylor tweeted the gamble did not work, how was a 2.5m a gamble?
it does not add up big time
-
not being funny but if ffp is stopping any spending, whats the point of a new owner?
it appears like big t bought the club & thought all we needed was a rudder to sale back to the promised land.
-
why does villa need a new owner, big tone will be in top 6 in prem in 5 years...this is year 3..

Just seen this quote in the express
“The Hammers have held preliminary talks with Villa but have been initially put off by the £40million price-tag.
Tottenham are keen but they too don't want to stump up the huge fee that Villa, who lost in the Championship play-off final, are looking for.
But both clubs are watching the situation closely and they will reopen talks with Villa if they drop their lofty demands.”
My first thought are if they don’t like the price (which should be higher) then look elsewhere. Second thought is if this club lets him go for anything less than what we need to cover our mess then I’m done, the would be no point selling jack and not getting enough money to get us out the shit.
they want the player but not willing to pay the doe putting it straight.
if villa HAVE to sell ..cash only,(ffp) no px they never work .. milner -stephen ireland springs to mind!

Would people rather see the club sell bodymoor to keep grealish, or keep the training ground that produced players like Jack, and selling Grealish?
Personally flogging bodymoor would seem like a very bad idea imo.
the new train line is supposed to run through it

i know.. lets bring nathan baker back to replace terry

Technically the player doesn't have to leave if he doesn't want to.
you correct, however if you were in the room & big tone says you will be helping villa out with the ££ & you get more ££ if you go play for spurs .. we can still be friends jack.. just sign here & go see spurs new ground ,it be ok jack they pass you the ball jack, they have ali & harry.. you like it jack ..
-
not being funny but what a clucking mess,
got to sell to bridge the gap & hope we can loan players sums the summer up is the hard cold facts.. im a realist not a fantasist ..
i remember when stan collymore said relegation would not be a good thing as it would send villa spiralling when other villa fans said we need a reality check & we can regroup in the championship & build a good side.. how right stan was..
what was it.. proud history bright future
now .. part of the pride ffs
next ..fight like chinese lion
-
the player may say the right things but if villa need the figures quoted & teams offer it..
-
can you imagine the phone call..
sb -hi tone, how much have i got to spend this year?
tone- ahh we sell jack & chester, terry & the other one has gone who talk funny.. you know west ham team & i think bunn can be the number 1 ..steve you their ..steve can you hear me..we got a bad line ..steeevvveeeee

good luck to the lad,the ££ is in the prem, its where villa are not & teams like leicester that are in better positions to get our only quality player.
again we as a club sell our best players that will go on to better things away from vp..dont ever kid yourself villa have a cheaper replacement as they dont..
who replaced barry..milner..young..downing..? NO ONE OF ANY QUALITY -FACT.
-
if its true the clubs in the brown .. if he was on 60k a week & we offer him 40k..thats 2m a season.. so does that mean villa have less than 2m to buy a replacement of equal stature on & off the field?
-
i think a club of the size of villa should stand up to ffp.
as the mail read was spot on in many ways, job losses etc.villa is geared up to be in the prem,
if by a mad one man u got relegated they would get around the ffp ,city get around it by spending 50m on 1 player etc,
if villa want to spend 100m every window let them! get people back in work again, the tax man will be happy as he gets his cut down the line,
ffp is BS ,villa bring through jack & green only to sell them to balance the books, hows that fair ?!!!!
villa is like a big bus that needs a big powerfull engine ..you carnt fit a moped engine in it & expect it to work

If we have learned one thing over this last few sorry years, from now on forever more, we should never pay any new signing the kind of wages that no one else will ever consider paying them if it doesn't work out for them here.
When you can't even unload somebody on a free something has gone badly badly wrong.
bang on ..villa has put lots or very average players in to the millionaire status,
just look at gabby..compare john terry performances to gabbys last season on the same wage.
theirs to many dead weights at the club.. we all know who they are.bottom line..sanction big wages comes from the top,,managers dont get involved with wages etc

DR T..few alarm bells are ringing,,why did he not buy the club when RL put it for sale when it was in the prem league? with very little ffp then he could have got us in top 6 (his words)
so now hes saying the same as randy "cuts" etc but using other words,
other clubs get around the ffp as stated with ground "rename" etc,
lets be honest.. if he wanted to ..he could, other teams like city take the fine & says its whats needed to compete at the higest level, thats the difference between owners

I think what @VillaJ100 is suggesting is that we go all out, buy the best players now and face the transfer embargo which won't mean a thing after spending £100+ million on the players we need.
It's not a strategy I'd approve of, but in theory it is a way of getting around FFP. If for instance you spend £500 million in one transfer window you shouldn't need to buy anyone else for years, assuming you bought well at least.
It's a risky way of doing things that's for sure especially given Villa's track record in the transfer window.
their no masking it, you get what you pay for, buy cheap buy twice
teki would rip the league up , wages.. gabby lump wages-ross lump wages- hogan wages..3 out -1 in

the bottom line is how can the new owners invest in the playing side of staff,
rename VP?
by the look of things their very little point having 3rd richest owners unless the team is on the same page as the owners, how they are going to swerve the speed bumps that are laid by the league is tricky
