great start but fadded,we struggle to keep the preasure,again missed chances in front of goal ! im getting very frustrated with downing! hes bottling his 50/50s,his delivery is poor, i think we should move millner to the right again,bring in delph & sidwell & bench carew & downing.

had a great day out,the "green man pub" was rocking! ..the game; played well first half,worked hard & closed them down,still lacked a cutting edge,you still felt if villa were to make a impact on the goal it was maybe was down to "luck,a slip", villa played typical villa with lots of huff & puff but just carnt blow the house down, yes the big descions went their way,thats how it goes it seems,lets take it on the chin.. with 10 mins to go i felt hollow when mon introduced heskey,.. this was plan B, win or bust! we got hit with 2 more. i thought mon might have gone 4-5-1 from the start as we have produced our best football imho then plan b is carew...

I think it's pretty stupid for someone to assume their opinion is right and MON's is wrong. Especially on a subject such as a players fitness when MON has plenty of staff and technology at his disposal to determine such things.

Big John I think if anyone cannot see that Petrov tires then they are not watching the game properly. I think MON must see it, he is an intelligent man, but I think it is his way that the club captain must see out the 90 minutes with the exception of injury. Unfortunately Stan is our captain as opposed to say NRC or Dunne. That lets Stan down. I think MON probably sees it as a weakness to withdraw his captain, in a 1970s sort of way, even if was to benefit the team. The only time I remember him withdrawing Stan was against Newcastle 2 years ago when we were losing 1-0 at half time and that day and for some time Stan had been utterly shite...so his hand was forced and we won the game 4-1.

know what you mean,dunne is more suited to captain so stan gets the hook,i guess its why mon stuck millner in the middle from the wing to replace nrc,stans lacks imagination in the final third,yes hes a super passer of the ball but sideways only, how many shots did nrc+millner+petrov crack last night? no more than gerrard.

dunne showed hes a class act again,kept torres quiet for the whole game till warnock did his stuff 93rd min,nrc had a sper game & was unlucky to get the hook! petrov worked hard with no end product again, same applies for carew,no end product.. torres was the difference,gabby made pepe save his efforts,torres made brad pick the ball out. untill we get "that type" of striker expect the same

Yes those are facts. But it's complete statistical irrelevance. We didn't lose today because of Heskey and we didn't win those other games because of Sidwell. It's pure coincidence.

ive said it before.. i think mon like a small pool of players, call it old school management i dont know. however the question is have we replaced barry/laursen this summer? for me ,no, has mon invested in the squad? yes, when downing gets fit he will add some genuine quality at the right time of the year, its not been said before but "when delph has played its been in 4-4-2,when mon selects delph in 4-5-1 we will see the best of him"

Dont blame the defense,you need a midfield to slow down the attacks and give the defenders a chance.At the end of the day if your team spends more time having to defend you concede more goals and look useless.
