  1. IMO, No question here, there is only onw way all the parties must go and that is for the present government to continue for a set period, a firm General Election date called in October and then the nation does it all again, this Election is a poison chalice for any party attempting to take power and unless they can agree to work together a s a coalition we must have another General Election 6 months on, also this business about people being turned away at 9.20 and prevented from voting, there absolute right, and turned away by the Police is a national disgrace, this isn't Mugabe's Zimbabwe ffs, complete shambles, this could also give the parties time to discuss any new electoral method before going into an general Election. The other point is surely these parties with the kind of decisions they are going to have to make over the next few years will want nothing less than a complete overall majority and a sweeping mandate from the public to implement these polices, otherwise we have unstable government, infighting, deals being done to stop legislation going through parliment delay delay delay, it just can't work. Most of all Thousand being denied there absolute right to vote is scandelous and a total disgrace. The only fair way is another General Election at a set date, after a cool calm period and another campaign period where the parties will now know that thus far the public are not impressed and they will have to work a lot harder. Only way............another Election and the Queen should call it.
  2. Got there, settled in my mind as to who, got in the booth, couldn't do it, stood to one side, went back into the booth, still couldn't do it, came out, one of the assistants said do i need any help, said i couldn't decide, stepped back in put my cross on the paper and stuck it in the box, point on making is it was that close.
  3. Probably a bit late for this election also but my manifesto would be. A compulsory 3 points for every Villa game next season and to be awarded the FA Cup before the competition starts and a down payment of 70ml by the FA to Villa on the fact that we will get it be default anyway, a bit like Man Utd now. Rather than a Live debate, every party leader should have live sex on TV so we can all see how they perform in a crisis. Where any MP is found fiddling they should pay recompense by treating everybody in the country to a 99, a curry and a six pack for the world cup . If we win the World Cup, it will be found that in fact Capello is of true English decent, a researcher came across the little known fact that when the allied & British forces landed at Anzio Private John Worsnip from Yorkshire ran up the beach after the Italian forces, who ran a hell of a lot faster, then into the local bistro, consuming copious amounts of beer and vino thus resulting in the seduction of a local lass, making hot passionate steamy love, after loads of burping and back passage and Fannie squeaks only to find 11 months later a baby bambino with terrible bad eyesight and a gift of not understanding any question asked of him. Of course there would be a parachute clause built into this new legislature, if we lose, Capello will be found to have been a war criminal, after trying to sell England flags and emblems to the invading British lads at Anzio and whilst claiming to be a future England manager. He will be executed for treason at dawn at an unspecified location but believed to be somewhere reflecting the true nature of his terrible crime such as at Birmingham City football ground, a place known in infamy for people dying a thousand deaths. The final part of the manifesto is last but not least, every opposing side next season will be required to implement a tactic whereby opposition defenders will be instructed to help any Agbonlahor attempt on goal thus insuring the ball goes in every time he shoots or goes one on one, in order to do this the other team must place 4 players at intermittent spacing either side of the right and left upright, as Agbonlahor shoots the player will be required to deflect the ball into the net assuring the goal every time. If by some chance the ball is on goal the keeper will be required to lay on his back and play with himself at a ferocious rate, the crowd will endorse this by shouting abuse at the keeper for authenticity, something like, What a masturbator, or the street alternative. Well i know what your thinking, but you have to remember in these times such austere conditions will have to be implemented. As such i commend this to the house for a smooth passage through. I Thank Yow
  4. Think Ed Balls is already making his play. By the way that's not a rude or sarcastic comment, i mean Ed Balls making the kind of statements he made yesterday regarding tactical voting and his advise to voters says to me the guy seems to think of himself as a kind of leading role player, particularly as others in the party have immediately come out and dismissed his comments.
  5. For me the disappointing thing about this election now is the fact that it started to look interesting a few weeks back and slowly slowly we are seeing the old format fall coseley back into place, Labour v Tory, that's what a lot of people are saying to me and thus they are getting none interested again. I actually think this will not be as a close as people think it will be, IMO there will be a substantial shift in the last hours, i think that because a lot of people seem to be of the attitude, i really can't be arsed, but i suppose i must go and make the effort, on that they will make there choice, that's when you will see the swing.IMO.
  6. He comes across like a politician should. Really? Awkward with the general public (who as PM he represents in their entirity), fake and awkward plastic forced smile, belittling and abusive "in private" of the people who vote for him. If that is how politicians "should" come across, I must have been living in a parallel universe for the last 36 years. He seems to treat his public with contempt. Whether that is a genuine portrayal or not, the others don't do that. Clegg seems genuinely interested in the public he meets. I think many a leader would struggle to get elected when they seem to dislike the public at large, or at least dislike interacting with them in any way. Image does matter, as does substance. Brown's image is simpy woeful, as Brooker acknowledges. It'll cost him. Oddly enough, that's my favourite thing about Brown, it's like they didn't manage to finish the surgery and he's still got some humanity left in him. Clegg and Cameron are Blair clones, they're the epitome of a modern party leader. They always seem a little bit identikit to me and I get the feeling there's a spin doctor somewhere churning them out. Agree with this, Brown still looks craggy and saggy like life's kicked the phuk out of him and it shows, Clegg looks like a well honed and sculptured shop window dummy to me " The suit man", Cameron, i reckon he uses more moisturizer than the average bint, his face positively shines and gleams with reflective light, perhaps he's an angel !!!!!!!!
  7. Think we have to assume the best outcome for us in the Man City v Spurs game and so we go for it v Blackburn, but lets hope we get a good game of football, a lot of the matches( not just Villa) have been abysmal lately due to the end of season fitness, even so players seem very tired to me, dread to think how some will perform for England or how they will start next season.
  8. Tinker, I have to agree, furthermore Barry was a better player under MON and at Villa, and yes i do think we would have had that extra strength in midfield which could have made all the difference. I think Barry at Man City is nowhere near as dominant as he was at Villa and i think that will influence his England game. When Barry cracked the England selection as we all know he was raved about, England was first choice him and Gerrard, doesn't seem to be that way anymore.
  9. I think its a fair bet that if the Tories get in they will look at every possible tax that can be raised will be raised ( that's not a party political broadcast) Tories have always been for the short sharp shock treatment, this in order to reduce the borrowing in the shortest possible time, problem is with this kind of thing is the fall out, there is always a price to pay, when Thatcher came to power after the Labour mess and winter of discontent blah blah, Credit squeeze, ( anybody remember Mick Hucknell, Simply Red, "Money's to tight to mention" became an anthem of the time) wage freeze, unemployment rocketed, massive house repossessions, record bankruptcies, incredible inflation and interest rates, but the country over the next few years came around, problem is most of the things mentioned we are already there now so phuk knows how bad it could get.
  10. - What a load of tosh. Which bit? The spending cuts in the public sector is really a major worry of mine; and also this potential Tory Government haven't been totally upfront with their plans for the future of our Country, I mean they plan to hold a emergency budget meeting 25 days into their internship, not telling us the full extent of their ideas and how they will recoup the deficit until we've voted them into Downing street. I have a vision of them ruining the NHS and other public run sectors, which ordinary people depend on and I can also see jobs being cut in these sectors immediately. I really hope they don't get in. I think these spending cuts to come could be a real horror story for this country, I think there is far more not being said than being said as to whats to come, It depends on what you want really, if Labour get in they will dilute any impact of the cuts on the public by borrowing more at a lesser rate than before, if the Tories get in and they are like any of there predecessors there will be no lessening of the impact on the public, they will hit it hard and without mercy but probably bring the country back into the black faster, with a bit of luck, very painful though, unless you are stinking rich in which case you won't know the difference.
  11. This Guy? There was a thread on the subject on here a few weeks back That's the fella....handful or what, I actually didn't get what he was saying or was on about because he was shouting a fair bit and talking over etc, another fella a few days back had a go at Cameron, Cameron clearly couldn't deal with it so using his arm swept the fella aside and walked of, and we've all watched Brown in the soup, don't recall ever seeing an election campaign with so many disgruntled voters at every turn.
  12. Just watching Nick Clegg, wow, anybody see that guy wading into him, actually thought as he kept moving forward he was going to plant one on him, think the security did as well, its Ok but Clegg isn't even in power or his party been in power since Jesus walked on water. Couple of things that are beginning to look ominous to me are the fact that we see this "time for change" thing being thrown at the public, when in actual fact you only have to listen to any of the parties to realise there is going to be no change, nothing different, no change of thinking except how we deal with the crap we are in. Another thing that is starting really to piss me of is the fact that there seems to be a huge machine that's now kicked in and we are seeing this momentum to get things back into the comfortable system or zone that the city requires, we see both Labour and Tory slipping back into the 2 party politic and Lib Dems taking up there 3rd party role of filling in, and yet just days ago it was all Lib Dems, even the polls seem to be working that way, are people really that precarious, i wouldn't imagine so. The other point i think is if i was any of these blokes, Cameron, Brown or Clegg i genuinely wouldn't want power in this country over the next 5 years, a) I don't think they will be in power that long before another election is forced, they will have to legislate and enforce such austere laws it really wouldn't be worth it and c) most importantly they will become so hated and detested because of the problems they will never hold power again for donkey's years, If it where me as leader i would dumb things down, even talk the losers card, let the other party take up the mantle, bide my time over the next few years ans slip into power afterwards, but that's me, and politicians ego's don't allow them to see further than the end of there noses.
  13. Still think they need to come clean on these cuts the IMF and the governor of the bank of England reckon will be the most severe in Europe, looking at the rest of Europe taking to the street in protest of austere cuts is one thing, when the UK takes to the streets its war. An interesting but doomladen point of view given by a notary German economist (who's name i can't remember and couldn't say it if i did) on TV last night, saying that Capitalism and the west is going through the same process of meltdown that Communism suffered in eastern Europe years ago, basically its coming to a dead stop. He said. "Ze problem is ze old communist state embraced capitalism and the Vest and de preceding transferal of da system went unt relatively simples, however vot will we do now mon heir". Thats a kind of rough translation of what he was trying to say.
  14. I agree, it's mind blowing to think people actually believe they have changed, they haven't. You just need to get past their sweet beguiling buzz words and speeches to find the Thatcher blue print lurking underneath with all its misery for the majority of this Country, except for the small few of course. I am voting Labour because they have a genuine plan for the future. Conservatives are a empty hub of promise and change, their true agenda is filtered through enticing speeches and tough talking promises which won't materialise. But voting for "Dave" is voting for change. After 31 years on uninterrupted rule by rupert, a tory victory will usher in an era of control for James The new leader and his lovely assistant "Dave" I reckon Cameron has got his hand on the other fellas rinky dink, they look way to cheeky to me.
  15. Sorry mate, your missing the point. The CL leagues at stake and we need to stand up and be counted.
  16. Agree, that's whats so frustrating, in fact this City won't even get through qualifying for the CL IMO, they look suspect and dolitary. MON needs to insist we go for this. C'mon Villa.
  17. Yeah we just need to get Gabby on the pitch ... We really really really do, he appears hamstrung to me, like he's following orders, he's got to do his thing and Young, he's starting to annoy me.
  18. Why awas Adebayor unmarked?????? Shit. In fact weve been asking for trouble since we scored, why sit back SO much, asking for it!!!!!!! We're troubling them going forward, WHY DONT WE DO MORE OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Petrov is shocking. Bang on, Why do we sit back and play this oh so composed football when we are best going forward, we have nothing to lose, if we lose 1-0 we may aswell lose 10-0, MON needs to sort this and to sort some of the players who just are not involved in this, don't they want 4th. FFS Villa...................Go for it.
  19. How many times has Warnock, handled, tripped, in the area and given away penalties this season. Have to say i'm really dissapointed at our performance, we are sitting back giving away possesion, being pinned back, another team and we would be 3 or 4 down, Man City have all the possesion would hate to see the stats on that. Has Ashley Young touched the ball, i counted 11.46 into the game before he even made contact with the ball. I can't even imagine what MON can do here, Man City will really fancy this now.
  20. Agree, we have to stop Bellamy and we have to be aware of Tevez ( Mancini says he can leave, just a thought) we must control the midfield.
  21. MON has already said we need to get at them, let's hope we do! oooops, stating the obvious then. We can do this................. I just hope Gabby ( he can be the difference) really throws of any inhibitions, plays a free role, at em at every turn, uses his pace, we are due to see this so lets see it now. C'mon you Villa boys.
  22. I really think MON has to set the lads up in a way that we are at them right from the kick of, Mancini sets Man City up in a kind of pensive patient manner, control the midfield and wait for the right time to pounce. I really think if we give them no time on the ball and get right in there faces, wind them up a bit, really go for it and be unstoppable, we can win this, I fear for us if we sit back, play the ball around to much and let them have to much possession as they have players that can hurt big time.
  23. What a simply massive game this is, and lets not forget, if everybody is getting wound up and excited over this have you thought about it if we win and then the last game C'mon you Villa boys.......... I'm going for Gabby and Dunne to score and us to win 2-1. Milner must be at the very top of his game. Ash Young must be in there faces relentlessly. Back 4 must be solid as a rock. Friedal utterly reliable. Petrov, composed, probing, vigelant, constantly looking for that opening. Downing, If this bloke has ever been in doubt its now he needs to play out of his skin, Man City are without a keeper, we've all seen Downing almost take the back of the net out with his shooting for Boro, lets for goodness sake see it now, perleeeeeease. Carew, Right from the first whistle, overdrive, strength, run straight threw them like a runaway juggernaut. And Gabriel Agbonlahor, if he can do to Man City what he did to Man City last season they should rename one of the stands,"The fast as fook stand" C'mon Villa. this is our moment, the Champions League beckons.
  24. Excellent post, Malachite. I wish some of the election parties would talk about this kind of thing, and how we need to change the way we do things. blandy: Agree, we really do, the one thing the British worker is a world beater at and that's making things, we have real craft and skill, know how almost as a birthright, especially B'ham.
