Nope. software can be repaired, I used to recommend that any budding software developer spend time maintaining and patching code - hoping that they'd learn from this. Even embedded systems can have firmware (embedded software) updated. In my many roles in IT, I loved coding the best, now though AI can do a respectable job at generating useable working code. People who have built their empires on sitting on knowledge I think need to worry, if you've got a practical skill you'll be fine, that is until they've built the machine that can print what you do. Importantly they'll be able to make the best choices using the world of information, not based on some individual or cohort experience. For so many years AI seemed to be the next big thing, now it's really getting somewhere. I think AI could be as important to us as the discovery of fire. I'm loving it - do I understand it, nope but I know the difference between a perceptron and Adaline. One day hopefully it'll be able to tell us how it works!

Shame I had a load of at the races race card and result data with draw bias, pace, predictions, odds movements. I could get the past 2-3 UK/IRE race reports quite easily for any given horse, but you'd end up with so much reading, today as an example this morning there were 410 runners, you'd have 1230 race reports to read.

Take one set back and ask for a refund. That way you'd feel all good and happy that you've taken the clothes back and you'd be extra happy that you've also now got a free set of clothes in your wardrobe. Win Win.

The 'held up' part is something that I looked at last year, basically if the run description for a beaten favourites previous race mentioned 'held up', the next race the horse ran it would win more often than not, that said odds were normally quite low for these horses so making any profit was difficult. Sadly I don't have the reports for this any longer - I badgered the sd card the system was on! Bloody ex IT consultant not making backups! How would you go about identifying the front running horses? Would you mine the run descriptions or the various racecard texts?
