    Poor comments by Petrov regarding RHM. Stating he should leave villa for rangers. If it was Celtic I understand..but rangers? Maybe he should stay away from our training. He seems to be bitter that RDM didn't give him a contract.

    http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-legend-comments-contract-12419278 article is there.

    I don't like this bit; “He hasn’t asked me about Scotland, but I’m going in next week so we’ll probably have a conversation if he wants to know anything about it.”

    He's meant to be a Villa man and we have offered RHM a contract - therefore we want to keep him. He shouldn't being going into Bodymoor and advising about a move or bigging up Scotland. If it was Libor Kozak, who is on the way out, that he wanted to advise then fine.

  2. If Delph was interested in coming here then we should take him.

    Then when we end up back in the Premier League Steve Bruce can tell him the following;

    Steve: "Fabian I'm not using Xia's millions to sign better midfielders. You are staying at the football club and I can't wait for the start of the season with you captaining this great football club."
    He then signs a new deal on the back of this.

    Then we go out, sign a new midfield and let him rot in the reserves. Just for 'lols' we give him a packet of snake sweets every day at Bodymoor along with a Nokia 3310 installed with Snake for him to play on.

  3. I have to say loans without options to buy when they are young players with limited experience are a bit annoying. Johnstone could have a good 6 months here but we might just be providing a valuable first-team slot to help improve a Man Utd player rather than our own players.

    Still, I hope he plays well and then we can get a sensible deal done for him in the summer rather than him disappearing into the sunset like Kyle Walker did.

  4. Something I've always wanted at Villa Park is a unique song that all of the fans sing together. I know we have some good songs but such as "Yippee aye eh" but for me it just ends too quickly and doesn't have enough to it.

    The kinds of songs I think work well are ones like "You'll Never Walk Alone" (Liverpool/Celtic), "Glad All Over" (Crystal Palace), "Forever Blowing Bubbles" (West Ham) - probably loads more.

    What are the key ingredients for a song like this to happen? For me ideally I'd like it to be a local band and something well known. Is this something as fans we need to start or do you think the new owners might be able to help things along? I think with all the exciting things that could be happening at the club for me this would be a huge thing on the agenda too.

    Also for big games I'd love to see more of this type of thing at Villa Park;

    I know there is a chants thread but I wanted to create a separate thread on this topic as I'm not talking about chants in general (mods if you feel this doesn't warrant its own thread apologies. Of course feel free to merge or move it).

    Does any one have any song or band suggestions? I think Black Sabbath, UB40 and Duran Duran are pretty well known!

    Wednesday winning has pissed me right off.

    Back to 6 points off despite today's win.

    I'm looking at it the other way - it keeps the automatic places alive the more that Newcastle and Brighton lose. Newcastle obviously have a lot of points on the board but their form is dipping. We all know how their fans can cause a negative environment if things are going against them and they still have Ashley there. It still could blow up on Tyneside you never know.

    I've never once claimed that title- so that's entirely your own words and certainly not mine- it's quite ridiculous of you to say so as well - with all due respect. I am happy to change it to in my opinion if this suits you more so- I am happy to stand by my thoughts however .

    I was only pulling your leg. I think Bruce is thinking IF he can get anywhere near having Gabby at the level he was 5 or so years ago then we have a good player to help us at this level. The African nations is going to be affecting our forward line and Gabby is collecting a big wage, so why not get him working hard and giving him some opportunities?

    You could argue it would be better to give Andre Green a chance and I wouldn't disagree with this. Either way I trust Bruce to do what he thinks is best.

    People can say whatever they wish - but I'm telling you now - it's a worry that Bruce very clearly rates this guy!  We are stuck with him in January.

    Ah yes the renowned football expert Dave J "telling us now" that it's a worry that the far less experienced Steve Bruce rates him.

    It's got me questioning why we didn't hire Dave J instead of Bruce really. Doctor Tony out! :P

  8. John Carew was just superb - committed and had a big personality. We had some great chants for big JC and I loved his interactions with the fans like picking up for the ball boy for the 2-0 goal v SHA. I really miss him and regret we never got a chance to give him a farewell (same for JPA) like we did with Mellberg.
