Got to be King Olof. Defending is an art, and strikers always get the glory. Best defender we have had since Sir McGrath. I celebrated him dinking the ball from going into the back of the net in the first few minutes of the Palace game. And he is scoring goals now, with the finesse of a forward. Long live King Olof, and long may he serve the Claret and Blue!

I would have anyone but Owen partner Rooney. What has he done lately? Yes he has a good scoring record, but he is not mtch fit and his performances for England over the last few games, incl Euro 2004, have been distinctly average. He is selfish, has lost a lot of his pace, which was his main attribute, and Smith, Defoe and Vass are much better in the box than him. Yes, IMO, Vass is better in the box than Owen. Vass is more on form than Owen, at least he is playing. If Vass ever got dropped ahead of Owen, on current form/games played, then I would write to the FA and complain.

Owen shouldn't even be in the squad. Over-rated, over-paid, boring little shit. Defoe on the other hand, is a class act.

I do think Olly is one of the best in the prem, probably ledley King has the potential to be as good, King isvery very good, and certainly someone I would like to see in C&B. Those two have the potential to be as good as McGrath, oneday..

Interesting that quite a few people have voted for Ollie. I have to say I never saw McGrath make a mistake, his reading of the game was second to none. I think Ollie has the potential, but is a bit off at the mo. Does anyone know what Macca is up to these days and if he is well/in good health?

I'm intirigued to know what people think when comparing these two? I personally think McGrath hands down, simply because he was, in a word, unbeleivable. IMO, Barry has done 2 good things this season: 1) took a shot on goal vs Newcastle from which Cole scored on the rebound 2) scored the header vs Newcastle. Aside from that he has been constantly overpowered, lost the ball, made some truly awful passes, such as into places where no players are and none are likely to run into. Barry definitely needs to be dropped for Whitts IMO, and he needs a proper rollicking from DOL. I think the 65% of people who voted fr him would agree with that. It also doesn't help the fact that Laursen is injured and Delaney is having to play centre-half meaning useless is guranteed a right bck place.
