  1. Does MON realise there are other leagues outside of scotland? :winkold:
  2. Clicky 40 million for a keeper though, thats just stupid money.
  3. Some would say it is an Ellisian ploy to sell more ST's. :winkold:
  4. General, Can I give a quick thumbs up for Nicola Keye, who has been dealing with an ongoing query I have had. What an excellent representative for the club.
  5. Seriously, what is the obsession with Van Bommel? Over rated player if ever I saw one. Anyway, he is a mate of O'Leary's apparantly, maybe someone could get him to 'have a word'. :winkold:
  6. Looks like Distin is off to Pompey. Would have been ok as cover, but would not have been guaranteed a first team place.
  7. I'd say Walsall are a bigger club than sha. Come on give them some credit!
  8. What's with all this West Brom love-in? They are almost as inbred as sha fans.
  9. Wolves easily. More titles, more fans, and more history than all the other scum put together.
  10. Wasn't Ashley Young dead set on signing for Spurs as his dad was a Spurs fan? Hmmmm...............
  11. We've got to sign Barton, as he would provide us with exactly what we need in our midfield.
  12. Money talks. He is not a proven international. Would McClaren put him straight in the England team if he went to Chelsea? He would be competing with Lampard, Ballack, Essien, Kalou, Makele (is he leaving?) for a central midfield position. Terrible decision but I think he is over rated anyway.
  13. What about linking well with Laursen? Our best defender by a mile.
  14. How deluded are the noses. The One I work with reckons they are in with a good chance of signing Darren Bent.
  15. by TorontoVilla As an exiled Villan in the Canadian colonies, yesterday's news that Villa will be playing a friendly against Toronto FC of the MLS couldn't have brought a bigger smile to my face. Coming hard on the heels of our late season resurgence, our fantastic 25th Anniversary weekend and Birmingham City's failure to win the Championship, could it get any better? It was announced yesterday that on Wednesday July 25th, Aston Villa's summer tour of North America will arrive at BMO Field in Toronto to take on Toronto FC of the MLS. To the best of my knowledge, this is Villa's first visit to Toronto...certainly the first since I arrived from Sutton Coldfield, set up my shack in the woods and chased the polar bears away from my sledge dogs. However, there has been a long and gloried history of former Villa players gracing the grass and astroturf of Canada's biggest city. Well, not quite: former Villa youth player - and friend of Mark Walters - Trevor McCallum, did play for the Toronto Blizzard of the NASL in the 1980s. Toronto FC was created last year and this is their first season in the MLS. In a league in which LA's star player is David Beckham, Chicago boast Mexican international Blanco and New York has Juan Pablo Angel, Toronto's big name import is none other than the Hammersmith Horse, Danny Dichio. With Mo Johnson at the helm, the team has got off to the sort of start you might expect: 4 matches played, 4 losses, no goals for... 10 goals against. Needless to say, I felt right at home in the stands for their home debut, leaden grey clouds overhead, brutal April winds whipping in from neighbouring Lake Ontario and rousing choruses of "You're just a small club from Kansas" aimed at the mighty Wizards and their one supporter. For anyone planning on heading over this way for Villa's tour, rest assured that come July, the temperatures will have soared to the low 30s and the new stadium down by the lake should be a pretty nice place to spend a summer evening. Everything is very civilised at Toronto FC's BMO Field with beer served in the ground along with chip butties, scotch eggs and the ubiquitous pizza and hot dogs. If the first match was anything to go by, the majority of supporters are either British or of British descent and the atmosphere is actually very good...considerably better than the football, in fact! Toronto is a reasonably-priced city to visit especially with the strength of the pound sterling and there's no shortage of pubs and restaurants...CDs are also half the price of the UK. However, be forewarned that BMO Field has 21,000 seats...and Toronto FC have 16,000 season ticket holders. Season ticket holders have first access to additional tickets which leaves about 1500 seats for each match available to the general public. In short, unless Villa obtain a block of tickets for supporters, if tickets for Toronto vs Kansas, Columbus or Salt Lake are sold out, there's not much chance that there will be any left for Aston Villa! In the event that there are tickets left, prices range from $110 to $195 for this game (GBP50-90). If you think you're coming, best bet is probably to keep an eye on eBay for tickets. I'll see you there!
  16. Wouldn't mind Southampton coming up. I have a couple of mates who live down there and it would be the perfect excuse for a weekend away.
  17. WBA fans are a bunch of muppets. I couldn't get a ticket for the away end when we last played them, but had to sit amongst the inbreds of Sandwell listening to them moaning. Horrible shit team.
  18. Not WBA. They are horrible in bred yam yams with no concept of how to speak properly. Wolves for me, a proper old-style English football club with history to back them up and a decent fan base.
  19. Is Sidwell a dead cert for Newcastle? because with Roeder gone he might consider playing for a better team :winkold:
  20. Barton to Everton, is that a done deal? because we would be better off ith him here.
  21. General, it was a superb day, thanks to Randy and the board for putting it together. Have a great summer General and Up The Villa!!!
  22. I agree, but he hasn't exactly made a good case for a new contract based on recent performances. The pen against City, the cock up against Boro. :? Its a shame as I think he is a decent keeper.
