Word on the Kingstanding "casual" grape-vine is that alot of the old thugs are coming out of retirement for this game...
Night game = more drinking time
More drinking time = higher risk of violence
4,500 Cardiff = Large hooligan element
Villa thugs coming out of retirement = Large hooligan element
Free tickets = Easy for younger wanabee "casuals" to get tickets
Uh oh
General,
Well done to you and everyone involved with the RV ticket scheme, what a great gesture to the fans of our grand club! Hopefully against Cardiff there will be a big crowd, a great atmosphere and hopefully a Villa victory to see us into the 4th round!
I don't know about that mate, when i've been drinking in the Manor it's normally just normal fans from what i can tell. I reckon i'll be going to the game either from the Manor Tav or the Addies. 11 days to go!
I wasn't saying its full of thugs before every game, but I was in there before the game in November '07 and I can tell you for a fact there were alot of the older yobs who had come out of retirement for that game...
Should be safe enough then :winkold:

General,
Sorry if this has been asked before, but are free tickets going to be given out for the Cardiff home League Cup tie to supporters who attended the home Rapid Vienna game?
Also, is there any truth that Cardiff will only be given an allocation of 1,400 to reduce the risk of crowd trouble?
Cheers
I know some Villa fans used The Manor Tavern before going to the Sty the last time. Although most of these fellows may have been of the "hooligan element".
Friedel - 7 - Not alot to do but he did what he had to well
Beye - 7 - Solid, strong in the tackle
Cuellar - 8 - Composed in the air as well as on the floor
Clark - 8 - Curtis who? Bit harsh but a promising debut from the youngster
Shorey - 7 - Great going forward but a bit suspect defence wise
Milner - 7 - Troubled the Fulham back line all afternoon
Reo-Coker - 7 - Uncompromising performance from big NRC
Petrov - 7 - So calm under pressure, the key to the side
Sidwell - 6 - Didn't show enough for me
A.Young - 7 - Improved after MON gave him a free role
Gabby - 9 - The best he's played for months and a great finish for his goal
