The refs during the AFCON games I’ve watched have been pretty good. Certainly the best I’ve seen in a competition for a long time.

I remember that game, I think i switched it off and went to play FIFA or something. Then I got a text from my uncle to say what a game well done Villa lol I was confused but so happy. We definitely need a moment like that in the second half

Also I’ve noticed in our build up that we only have Diaby and Watkins forward, I’m sure Tielemans/McGinn/Bailey normally get closer to the front two?

Last time we’ve come back from 2-0 down and won in the PL was against West Brom when we won 4-3 apparently?

I think it’s a combination of our players heaping pressure on ourselves and maybe our own fans? I understand why us as fans want some more recognition etc but I always think whenever we do get that spotlight we go to shit a bit. Hopefully we can come back and win this.

Teams want us to beat them on the wings instead of the inside, with this box midfield we need to rely on Moreno and Cash. Moreno hasn’t been that great since coming back and Cash is not great at beating his man. Diaby is so low on confidence he can’t get going, Watkins doesn’t have service and Luiz may need to be pulled away from Alisha. We haven’t been good for a few games now.

I’m sure Neuhaus is more like McGinn rather than an out and out DM. I think he’s played as an AM but can play CM/DM, either way I remember a few years back he was rated highly.

In front of Drogba as well, it’s really embarrassing on them. They also spent around $1 billion to host this competition. They can go through as one of the better 3rd place teams but it’s not looking good for them at all, it’s crazy how quickly Senegal overtook Ivory Coast as the best west African footballing nation
