But I thought the Saudi links were imaginary?! (I didn't believe they were imaginary—I'm taking the mick )

Van Dijk has dropped off massively since that injury.
Focussing on the positives Mings and Delph went on to become England internationals. Plenty others on the list continue to or played on at international level and top level football.
Has Van Dijk really been that bad? Liverpool as a whole were a mess. (I don't know)

I do not think it's nonsense and stand by it despite how many people seem to agree with you.
This is recency bias and "injured player is good" logic in my opinion. The entire time Buendia has been here he's fallen short of expectations, especially considering what he showed at Norwich and his price tag.
The fact is he needed to up his game if he wasn't going to be a bench player this year and as one of our most expensive players that's not good enough. He's fallen behind a £3mil championship signing and an academy graduate in the pecking order.
I really like him and his style but I still don't think he's done enough ever and he's now at a do or die stage in his career, he's definitely no prospect now, if he's got to come back from being out for a year too on top of it I don't expect him to continue his career here post injury.
I know this is very harsh but just how I see it. Love to be proven wrong.
I've appreciated him throughout his time here because of the way he plays—ever moreso under Emery (like with a lot of players). It's not recency bias for me, so you can rule that one out.
In my opinion the bit I've bolded is more nonsense! People have a different opinion to you though—that's enough tbh.

Courtois has done his ACL as well today.
Horrible injury. I always think that players never quite come back right and lose that spark which is understandable as it a major injury. Buendia is a huge loss to the squad and before this I don't think he ever missed a game for Villa through injury and so he was a dependable player to have whether he started or not. Was great in pre-season as well. It's a huge blow.As I mentioned earlier one example that always comes to my mind is Delph. The season he came back he didn't look great, but the season after that one was when he fulfilled all his promise, looked quick and dynamic and pretty great. It might just be a protracted process but there's no reason he can't come back just as good. But yeah it'll take some time.

I had the Emery police on me for suggesting Olsen wasn't up to it in the Olsen thread. I think it's becoming a thing, you can't criticise a player/decision it seems without insulting Emery. I think Emery is the greatest thing to happen to Villa since I can remember, I don't think Olsen is. Both can be true at the same time regardless of what Emery thinks of Olsen.
Isn't it more or less just people disagreeing with you/Rodders just like you disagreeing with them?

let's not kid ourselves. acl is game over at this level. ffs
It's not at all. Even Fabian Delph did it about ten years ago at a time when he'd never been good for us, then he came back and was twice the player, became an England international and macked us off for Man City and won lots of trophies.
Loads of players do it and come back fine. The list is probably enormous.

I still think there was a good player in their but I think he was a bench option that could easily have gone the way of Coutinho.
It weakens us slightly but we've got time to readjust to this during the window.
Overall I'm not bothered by this from a cold, supporting Villa perspective but obviously feel for the lad himself as he must be devastated, and also feel for whoever caused the injury in training as they must be reeling right now.
This is nonsense. He's consistently played well for us. He's not a superstar, but he's a battler with quality—he's been mostly effective for us and has had plenty of moments in a Villa shirt he can be proud of.

Strange one this, attitude issues, big injuries and he'll be the only (I think) Italian speaking player in the squad.
Humans can speak more than one language!

He's probably one of my favourite players. This needs not to be true.

We have been savaged by the telegraph's Thom Gibbs in an article about this seasons best and worst kits. We are 36th, only arsenal's away shirt has been rated worse than ours....
The Telegraph is all nonsense, and this just proves it. I quite like our kit (I didn't at first), and it's the best claret and blue kit in the league by a mile.

They always did well enough to finishing in the top 7
I remember looking mid season once and they were a bit lower than that, but I think 7th is pretty good tbh! I was working with inferior information there.

Emery is used to fixture congestion I’m sure we’ll be fine.
I wasn't paying amazing attention, but my impression was that Villareal didn't do very well in the league when they were doing well in the cups.
Hopefully we have a bigger squad to avoid those kinds of issues associated with 8 extra games.

It’s definitely a squad game now. The annual champions have £100m Jack Grealish on the bench and pay him over £300K a week to sit there. But then that’s a different story.
I pay little attention to Man City, but my impression was of him starting more often than not. I might be wrong though!

I couldn't get past the dumb Uhura singing episode. It was so crap, a plot strung together by the most nonsense contrivancies. I think it was episode 2. I've been tempted to give it another shot, but gah that episode annoyed me.
When I saw what you mention in your spoiler there I had concerns! That's not Star Trek.

Pathway for Ramsey here is blocked for sure. Sale with buyback clause seems right in this situation. What's a 3rd season going on loan to Championship going to do?
Although I more or less agree I don't think there's anything stopping him from going on loan in the Premier League.

Is that what I said?
I mean saying we're losing our soul is a bit much. As there's a buyback clause this isn't a permanent goodbye necessarily. Beyond this transfer in so many ways we are elevating and rebuilding a soul the likes of which we haven't seen for a long time (one fit for modern football, for good or bad). We also have plenty of soul...Ramsey, McGinn, Mings, Luiz and on and on.

If true the club really is losing it's soul. Pricing out local fans and cashing out 20 year old England internationals that have been at the club since 9 years old.
Woeful.
You're right. The club are in a terrible position right now. Has it ever been so bad!

1) Pay rise and tax free earnings. Swop grey rainy uK for sun & glamour of Bahrain
2) This is a myth
3) still all of August to go until the window closes so do you not want any new signings as it’s close~ish to the season starting ?
From my experience living in Madrid, give me a drizzly summer day at 20 degrees over a 40 degree oven (as it is in Bahrain today). Humans can only function properly in one of those temperatures.

So what if i posted the story? You can still post something if you think its a non story
The part about the bbc telling him off
Looking back at your initial post, BBC bosses described his comment as inappropriate. It is, of course it is. In that context it's obviously an inappropriate thing to say to a professional sportswoman. The interviewer made a mistake. Who cares.
We'll, it's you who seems to care. It would have no legs if you weren't posting it. If you didn't see the clip originally, but did see the 'story' elsewhere, was it by any chance from a source who doen't like the BBC? Is this in fact a story about not liking the BBC?

This is a no story for me. Didnt need to be made public
Cringeworthy things go on the internet. That's not a surprise either. Ironically you were the one spreading it around! It's your story. It is public because he did it on the TV.
