  1. I'm scratching my head. Getting thrashed by Leeds and Southampton, yet pulling off convincing wins against Liverpool, Leicester and Arsenal. Two of those were away wins too!

We had a combined 4 points against the so-called top 6 + Leicester last season.

If he isn't a better player than Trez he's a waste of £19m.

I think he definitely motivated Trez. So I'd think of him being £9m and Trezeguet £19m.

Still kinda not worth it though. Lol.

I think a little bit of perspective is needed in the media/amongst pundits with Leeds. They are 10th having won two games from five against Fulham and Sheff Utd who sit 19th and 20th. They are hardly setting the league alight in the way the media/pundits/commentators like to suggest.  In fact in the five seasons previous to this one all of the best placed promoted sides had, like Leeds, at least 7 points after five games, only one didn't which was Norwich last year who took 6 points.

They play some nice stuff but having watched them on Monday for all their pretty possession and pressing they created next to nothing in terms of clear cut chances.

We match them tomorrow for effort then we will have too much for them in terms of quality and that should be the difference.

I kind of think the same. More worried about the Southampton game than this.

I've not seen a huge amount of Leeds but from what I have seen I think we need to not press high against them or we play into their hands.

I think we would be better letting them have the ball deep, invite them onto us as they've not a lot of cutting edge and then hit them on the break. I don't think they can handle it.

Might not be the way people want to see us play at home but I think it would be the best way to approach the game.

Exactly, just like how we played Liverpool.

I was kinda hoping he would rip into Southgate in his press conference.

But he just isn't that controversial Mourinho type. Very boring man, but respectful.

Wouldn’t say he’s boring. He’s the best dad figure that you can hope for. Talking of boring, you must’ve forgotten our previous manager.

I don’t think any supporters are against Mount being picked.  It’s honestly more to do with the utter bullshit that falls from Southgates mouth.

    See @Only2McInallyspost above.

He is beyond disrespectful now.  When compared to Gazza he’s quick to put that fire out as soon as he can.  When he’s man of the match he tells the world he’s not in a position where he’s supposed to be.  When he does something good, he finds someone else who apparently did something better.  When he’s in the championship he says he has no premier league experience (Even though he had a season in the premier league) whilst simultaneously picking Mount who is 4 years younger with no premier league experience.  He picks Phillips without any premier league experience.  He doesn’t like to compare players to other players (Gazza) yet he compared Kane to Shearer.  He doesn’t play players out of position (even though he wouldn’t be out of position) yet picks 3 right backs, and puts a classic no9 on the wing, and boasts about how well Mount played in a role that was completely new to him.
And today, he has the nerve to call him not athletic or quick enough whilst bringing on Jordan Henderson and DCL (who aren’t exactly Usain bolt) and Sancho (who isn’t exactly a pissed of Bruce Banner)

As for not playing him, I’d rather Jack remains the media darling, than have be labelled as Southgates toy boy.

Good luck with the Euros Gareth.

I should’ve pointed out that I posted the picture solely because I saw WhoScored crossed away Grealish’s name intentionally, which I find quite funny, and I think they’re mostly just mocking Gareth Southgate. Completely agree with you though!

For us non-finance people, how does issuing more shares work if they already own 100% of the company? Wouldn't they just provide a loan?

Correct me if I am wrong - a loan is a liability to the club that you'll have to eventually pay back whilst issuing more shares basically means injecting money into company "in exchange" of more shares, in this case purely injecting money.

  8. Looked forward to this game as I can finally watch it comfortably on a Saturday night.

Yet the game has once again moved to a Sunday night, which would be Monday 02:15 AM in Hong Kong, which also means I'll be sleepwalking at work for most of the week 😫

Yesterday's man, 30, bad attitude, not that good anymore. We are so done with these types of signings. It's like Drinkwater but worse

At least Drinkwater realized he himself is garbage.

I always thought the clause meant the club has to accept a 35m bid from Man City. After that point it would be up to Luiz to discuss terms and agree to the move.

    Is that not the case?

The club can also try to negotiate some sort of a cash deal to buy off the buy-back clause, similar to the Toby Alderweireld deal to Tottenham where A. Madrid seemingly paid Southampton to wipe off the buy option of the loan deal so the transfer to Tottenham can go through.

How do they know he is staying u til January. Surely they may still want to sell him. And we are in a prime position to snatch him with no other competition.

It sure looks like Werder is trying extremely hard to get cash immediately. We might be playing the waiting game all along and this might just pay off.

  12. Crazy things can happen in the transfer deadline. Paperwork not handed in on time, players pulling away, club comes in and swooped the player in a matter of minutes. Everything can happen.
