Normally I wouldn't admit defeat in loosing a player, but he has done pretty much the same as mamouth did, in appearing in the papers saying he wants out. So I wouldn't give Young a send off. I hear Gardner has been training with the first team and is looking like he could start.

    A fan of playing 2 CM's, but think he is a poor footballer, so if we are selling sidwell, then yes I would play him over Salifou and Osbourne.

    From what GK said, we want an experienced manager who has managed in our league. So drawing up a short list should take an hour or so, put buy out prices against each name and then find out how much each would want to come. I'm guessing we are looking at around 10 to 15 names? Go for what you can afford

    Wouldn't the better managers be easier to find? they are normally well known to everybody.

    Maybe its not taking so long because the board don't want to spend money, but because they have no idea how to find the right manager for our club and are waiting for one obvious choice to emerge.

    The problem as someone pointed out on here, is who do the board go to for advice ? I heard the friday the Holte Pub got locked down they met to discuss who to get and Jol was top of the list with Hiddink, but isnt that just football club running by numbers, where is the insight coming from?

    Everything I've read and heard suggests we wanted and tried for Jol, and it is not possible for at least a year.

    It looks to me as Lerner would of liked Mac to have done the job, bringing on the kids without having to spend in the transfer market, did Mac just politely say no thanks.
