We definitely looked undercooked for the season which is disappointing as on paper we have a fairly easy start.
We should have got rid of Nakamba and Conor already this window and reinvested this plus 10 odd million to get a quality DM in.
Its going to take time to bed in for the season, hopefully after 3-4 more games we will be up and running and Smith will know his best XI is.
To whom? Is it really that easy in this market to just sell players…

NSWE out, Dr Tony in! I want a real rollercoaster, not this.

too many players not match fit.
I wonder if a manager like Tuchel would have taken off targett in the first half. Sarr won the game in the 1st half. 2nd half looked better. Ramsey made a difference and traore/bailey looked bright.
This is why we should be cashing in on el ghazi if we have the chance.
Sarr looks so much better than two years ago. He'll be off to City/ United/ Chelsea for 100mm within a year...

Nakamba is powder puff
Buendia looked a million miles off it
Bailey looks ace
Traore looked bright.
Smith got it completely wrong today. He got the first half completely wrong, agree. But his changes worked and we looked much better.

We messed up the first half. Underestimated Sarr, Targett wasn't fast enough.
Much better second half - "we won the second half" is a comment I hate, but we did (technically). Looked much better after all the changes.
Sucks, but not going to get too upset. We looked weak against counterattacking football.
No need to dwell on this for hours. Onwards and upwards!- 4

Well maybe we'll go and spend the 100mm now???

The Common Potato on the stream I am watching summed it up - Villa struggling on the counter. Sarr is just too much pace for Targett today.

Settle down, settle down. Give then chance!

Looking at the bench, I think Dean and crew are expecting some big youth output this season. It’s exciting to see those three on the bench.

Everything about the club is growing, not least Dean Smith.
Until we have photos of him eating a chippy tea in full training gear, Mr Potato Head gets to retain the title of most out of shape Villa manager.

Glad to see our feeder club doing so well!

Pretty cool we have a 15 million player that most people have written off to 0 coming back. Exciting to see if he has the potential we saw in him.

It’s good having a squad with genuine alternatives if we get injuries, suspensions or dips in form. Who would have thought such a thing.

Sending out Wes on loan with recall potential in January seems sensible to me. Traore/ AEG could step up short term it we lost both Ings and Watkins.

You gave AEG a 6 and he scored quite a few… what’s the scoring system?
It’s the “I Pulled It Out My Ass” scoring system. You learn it when you do your Coaching Badges

Really? Can you imagine the meltdown in Small Heath if we’d signed Bellingham?
They'd unretire his shirt...

I can confirm this is true.
Juan Pablo Angel gave birth to him at the age of 15. Carlos Sanchez is his father.
Checks out. Have to imagine JPA would only need to look at a woman and she’d be preggo.

It’s us and Spurs in for JWP apparently.
We’ll win then. In a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Levy, you always win with Rock (bid over half what the player is worth).

Danny Ings

What in the hell am I reading in here… Ings didn’t have a great game because he had close to zero service. It’s that simple. The guy is a monster at converting opportunities if you create some for him.
As ever, VT going into insane over drive from one bad result making stupid conclusions.
