  1. As I said I have never said we are failing, I simply asked the question of other posters who they think are potentially those players and no one has yet come up with any real answers but seem to think we are generally doing OK all things considered. Unless we are successful with this new 'model' we will remain a very much bottom third team simple as that we will not be able to push on.
  2. I can see your point but could also bloody ruin him getting played at this level too early.
  3. But you can tell if a player looks to have the potential to be a great signing would you not say Sarr for Watford and Daniel James for manure look really great signings right now? I don't look at any of our summer signings and think **** yes so glad we brought him in everyone else must be kicking themselves for missing that one!
  4. And they have heaps more money than us!
  5. Agree with what you are saying surely you should aim to improve your team at every transfer window granted mainly in the summer, but make improvements in weak areas in January if possible. Other than improving on Wesley which in all fairness is not difficult we haven't (yet) improved the team. Sure the injuries have dictated what we have needed to address but we shouldn't be reliant on other teams poor form to keep us in this league just doesn't bode well for the future.
  6. I also think the board will have one eye on the Championship hence the signing of 8 mil strikers. But a loan deal wouldn't be an issue just who?
  7. Completely agree but fixed that bit for you.
  8. Not so sure he'd suit that role DS seems to like the 2 more defensive midfield players. Going to be very interesting when he does return particularly if we are playing OK would be a big call to change the way we play to accommodate him.
  9. I've not written anyone off just don't see any really stand outs that I think will develop and we can turn a big profit on so we can progress.
  10. Far from it Wes is a useless lump, I wish him a speedy recovery but he's never going to be a good player for us
  11. I think so too DL needs to develop (a lot) and is not ready for starting in that position yet DD should be a very good stop gap as long as he get's up to match fitness fast.
  12. Where would SJM play in this current formation?
  13. Firstly I have never said we are failing based on our current recruitment model, you seem to have read one thing and totally interpreted as something else. But there's also little evidence it's going to succeed based on last summers business. Mings has increased his value but surely he's not the sort of player we would be moving on anyway though, I've already said Guilbert has done really well but I do think he is at his right level and won't progress much further.
  14. I'm not pressing anyone? I've asked if anyone thinks any of our signings have been great. I've already said who I think have been great signings from last summer.
  15. Who's writing them off? don't be so precious I've asked a question based on what we've seen who has been great?
  16. Only if he develops though. We could be left with a player not worth what we paid for him (again).
  17. I don't give a **** about the 3 teams above us in the league you mention I only care about the signings we have made and make.
  18. We've signed direct replacements because of injuries and a youth team player? So no real additions or improvements?
  19. So who has been a great addition in your opinion bearing in mind the model of recruitment we are following?
  20. I didn't ask who had been OK or failures? I asked if we had made any great signings.
  21. I like Nakamba but DL no way not for me yet he cost 15 mil! AEG has 6 and 6 come on he's no where near Jota's level. Other than Wesley I agree with no real bad signings he was bad! But my point is there are no stand out signings that I think we can sell in 2-3 years at a big profit to fund future investment which is the model we are supposedly following.
  22. I know we had a lot of players to buy I'm not questioning that.
  23. I agree was always going to be difficult. When you say pretty decent hit rate I'm not so sure aren't we supposedly following the Borussia Dortmund model of reducing the spending by scouting better and finding young players who we can develop get a few good years out of then sell on for a significant profit and re-invest? I don't feel Konsa, Guilbert and Targett have been solid but they have been OK though, all have had good games but not solid imo, Guilbert would be the player I like most out of those three but him and Targett are probably at a level that suits them I don't really see them pushing on any further, I do think Konsa shows promise and can improve a fair bit. Nakamba shows some potential yes, jury is still out for me with DL some people seem to be always looking through Man City/Brazil rose tinted glasses when they talk about him but bearing in mind his age he could turn out to be a good signing if he develops. Wes was hit and miss? He was very poor worse signing of the summer for me, I think we would have done better signing two 11mil players.
  24. To add for me only Heaton and Mings.
