i dont think i have ever seen such a red carpet for a contract extension at Villa, they literally opened the stadium just for him, and put all his best bits on the main screen while being interviewed.

i think any CB we sign will need to be quick, agile etc, with the way Gerrard likes to play his full backs so far up the pitch, the CBs will likely need to make a lot of recoveries and close down sprints etc, as well as Gerrard wanting to play "possession" football, which will mean the defenders probably playing higher up the pitch, meaning a pacey/agile defender can recover better from balls down the sides / over the top etc.
I really dont expect us to be signing a Tarkowski type, who although a good defender, isnt really speedy/agile or a recovery type defender.
Who knows though.

Damn wish we could have loaned him to them
so he can sit on their bench?

will be interesting to see if he can force his way in to the starting 11.
Bidace is 20 next month (Feb 8th), so he really needs to be showing he can play at decent Championship level if he is to fulfill his potential.

Gonna be a legend here
i think you are exactly right, he has the chance to be a proper legend here i think.
If he continues to play like he has, and stays here for many years, he will be in the discussion for best ever Villa keeper imo.

brilliant that he bigs up Cutler, shows how important that relationship is.

5.5 year contract, sweet.

BRILLIANT!!!

it would make zero sense for Manure to loan Lingard to anyone for the rest of the season.
Lingard has 6 months on his contract left, so Manure need to either keep him in their squad (for depth), or sell him in Jan as this is their last chance to make money on him, loaning him out makes literally zero sense.
If Lingard wants his pay day, he will run his contract down and get his last big payday in the summer.

Yeah he was good in our game against them.
I stated a few times I ended up catching alot of Brighton games by default, and it's why I had a soft spot for them as I saw them play teams off the park and lose or draw, last season that was.
He was alwaysbery good IMO.
To me looks more like a proper box to box who is extremely strong and intelligent defensively.
I don't box him into just a DM as he looks useful going forward and encouraging forward play as well.
ye, when i have seen him he very much acted like an 8.
I would imagine he can operate as a pure 6, but tbh...once again, as with many players we seem to have/covet, they arent pure 6s.

good piece of business, means we really only need to spend decent cash on one centre back, to offer actual challenge to Mings/Konsa.

Shows you how crap the Championship is with Fulham scoring 70 goals already.
lets not be silly, we as well as anyone that the Championship isnt a poor league.
However, it does show that Fulham are like Norwich, a class above in the Champ, but struggle to be good enough for the PL.

I got confused and thought we were loaning him out to Roma, my bad. Decent cover I suppose. Is Kalinic still technically a Villa player?
Yes, until June 2023.
He is Hajduk Spilt's 1st choice keeper, and also their captain!
we really need to get some reddies for him in the summer.

Being run like me on football manager
Next they'll be offering £100m for German players when they get 10 caps...
hey hey hey now....
Offering a central defender 5,000,000 for hitting 30 goals in a season to bolster their contract offer in a "fair way", is a perfectly legit thing to do IRL ok.........

He'll be a good squad player when he gets back into shape. A possible super-sub?
if he can stay fit, coming off the bench for the last 20/25 with his rapid speed and the tired legs of the opposition, would cause some teams nightmares!
Probably best for him also, as with his long absences, they will probably want to phase him back in slowly anyways.

are manure gonna collapse again, 2-1.
edit....haha forgot manure had 3, maybe not.
-
would he get in the stoke first 11?
-
Ronaldo is no good for Manure, he is so up himself and is always throwing tantrums and giving out bad vibes, i wouldnt want to play with him now, he isnt the player he was (although still good), but he acts like is is still one of the best in the world.

Derby have only lost 7 games in the league this season. Same as QPR, who are 4th
Only conceded one goal more than Fulham and Bournemouth
yeah, amazingly they would be 12th without the points deduction, tbh with the summer they had, the players they lost, and the limited way they had to get new players, they have done really well this season.

hasnt it been made clear in the news, that this isnt happening in Jan?, and even if it does, it would be in the summer?
January Transfer Window - 2022

the good thing for me, is we only have 1 PL game left in Jan, so we can make the moves in Jan, get them up to speed and have more games towards the latter part of the season with the new signings.
1 more PL game before the window closes, then the next game isnt until 9th Feb, so plenty of time to get 1-2 more big signings in, and get them settled! (pls )
