@tomav84 I was thinking the same thing. A squad illness would explain a lot. And if the option is name noone or a player that's got the shits on the bench then the latter will win. Imodium then up and hope they last 45 minutes if needed at half time.

lets hope they dont pick up the Dulcolax from the shelf opposite by mistake.

  4. the UK has been in decline for nearly 20 years now, and i dont see it changing any time soon, you could probably argue there has been a form of decline for 20+ years, but it wasnt as obvious.

Honestly, if i were younger, i would leave to find a future elsewhere, although tbf, a lot of the west is in decline to some degree, or varying degrees, some more than others ofc, but generally speaking.

I also dont seen any particular political party being able to fix it, its gone too far and any proposed changes would be fiddling around the edges, which our political class seem good at doing, ie: doing a lot of nothing, or even doing a lot of what is actually detrimental to us.

I also tend to think that we as a country have lost the ability to think strategically and long term, the past quarter of a century has just been running around putting fires out, and short term thinking, we have no ideology, or plan, or long term strategy i dont think.

The UK is done i reckon, at least until/unless some major, major changes are made, and by major i mean a major social and political upheaval, it will get worse before it gets better i think.

In his last post match interview Pep basically hung Grealish out to dry and put him on the transfer list. Now I wouldn't want to pay anywhere near what they paid for him, but if a fee could be agreed, would people want him back? Personally, if the money is right, I think he would fit in to that LM role perfectly in our system.

got a link?, cat find it.

  6. So, who is out of contract in the summer?, some i have noticed:

Mario Hermoso (28) - Atletico - CB/LB (some links to him already?)

Guido Rodriguez (29) - Betis - DM (some links to him already?)

Daichi Kamada (27) - Lazio - AM (he must have signed a short contract, he wasnt our of contract that long ago for his previous club?)

Felipe Anderson (30) - Lazio - RW (werent we linked with him in the summer last year?)

Gabriel Barbosa (27) - Flamengo - ST (is this the same Barbosa that was an FM wonderkid many years ago?)

Vladimir Coufal (31) - West Ham - RB

Ben Johnson (24) - West Ham - RB

    Joel Matip (32) - Liverpool - CB

Also, for interest, some players with only a year left on their contract this summer (could get some good value from short contract players?):

    Warren Zaire-Emery (18) - PSG - CM

Jonathan David (24) - Lille - ST (been linked with him before)

Mikel Merino (27) - Real Sociedad - DM/CM (been linked with him before)

    Frederico Chiesa (26) - Juventus - LW/ST

    Khepheren Thuram (23) - Nice - CM

    Frank Anguissa (28) - Napoli - DM/CM

    Denzel Dumfries (27) - Inter - RB

    Rayan Cherki (20) - Lyon - AM/ST

    Unai Simon (26) - Athletic - GK

    Lo Celso (27) - Spurs - AM

    Illing Junior (20) - Juventus - LW

Lascelles out for 6-9 months now with an ACL injury and apparently another of the players who went off injured yesterday is a long-term absence too...

so who are they missing long term now?

Tonali (banned), Joelinton, lascelles, Botman, Wilson, and the other player you mentioned?

Time to trot out ‘but had we beaten forest’

tbh, if you look at the data, it was the Sheff utd draw where our form has dropped off slightly since then, so the last 12 ish games or so.

its not a huge drop off, but it is defo a noticeable drop off.

In reality tho, you could argue the pre Sheff Utd form was far, far above what we could have reasnably expected, so maybe the post Sheff Utd form is more....realistic?, and the pre Sheff Utd form was operating at above our sustainable/expected level.

a bit of a wacky quote (the quote you linked - talking about cutting edge step advertising), you just need to go to a train station and see how they have adverts on every step up and down from concourses, to see how you can monetise steps.

surprised it isnt common place in football tbh.

  10. Last 12 PL games.

    Won 0, Drawn 5, Lost 7

0.4 PPG in those 12 games, they are lucky that the teams below them are terrible, or they would be in real trouble.

Havent won in the PL since 16th December, 3 and a half months without a PL win.

I wonder where it has gone wrong, because their first 17 games was 8 wins, 2 draws and 7 losses, they even won 4 in a row in early Dec, just before it went to pot.

Gonna be interesting, as they still have Burnely, Luton, Sheff utd & Forest to play

  11. Unprofessional imo, basically touting yourself out saying "i have a contract here, but its not a problem" etc etc.

Not saying he isnt allowed to want to move clubs, anyone is ofc, but to basically say you are open to leave etc, in an interview, is poor form.

Also goes on to say he isnt likely to sign a new contract, etc etc.

Looks like he is totally sold on his own hype, Brighton are the ones who gave him the chance to showcase his talents as a manager, and this is how he repays them.....nice.

If i was a club owner listening tot his, thinking about recruiting him, it would put me right off tbh.

Why is it alway HATERS when people say a player isn't doing the business. Has anyone been calling for his extermination? For his family to be persecuted and locked up?

It's perfectly possible to not rate a player, to say what you see without being a bloody HATER. The **** polarisation of the Internet boils my piss.

    thankyou!

stating a player isnt playing well, isnt performing or that they wouldnt buy them based on performances, that isnt being a "hater", its just stating an opinion.

Now, that opinion could be wrong or right, but its an opinion, as long as it isnt a personal attack or such like, its a valid opinion.

all this "hater" blah blah is so childish, society today is so polarised and extreme, only black and white, no grey, and we are worse for it.

  13. he looks like a proper rough diamond to me.

If Emery can knock off the rough edges, he will be a proper player for us.

He already shows moments of genuine quality that just cant be taught, he just needs some Emery tactical/system love over the next 6-12 months and it looks like he will be a top player.

    fingers crossed.

You say that but it's weird, again to fight the graphic comes up villa are the best team in the League for points lost from winning positions so typically we'd all say villa do this again and again... But this season we don't... It's crazy really

ye it is crazy, the stats do confirm that we are very good mentality wise this season.

I guess im just saying that that one game, was like a throwback to the poor mentality and buckling, that we hadnt/havent seen this season much, or at all.

4th in the league and only 5 points off the top. That is an outstanding achievement so far, I think we sometimes forget that, when we have the odd stutter like we did against Newcastle and Spurs. I know I do.

What he has done in his tenure to date, is amazing.

without being a Debbie Downer, the clubs above us have two games in hand.

It doesnt take away from the fact that Emery is the King tho.
