It's the team slow unbearable downhill demise from the back to back wins over City and Arsenal that's broken me. The loss at Old Trafford from 2-0 up and I knew, this is the moment we'll look back on where it all unravelled
It's been that unravelling slowly but surely that's just unbearable. It's just an inevitable event we have to live through. Slow painful death basically
I used to be very positive. But sometimes you just know what's going to happen and when it eventually comes to pass.
Being mid table all season is beyond better than being a win away from top of League at Christmas and then collapsing to 6th.
tbf, West Ham will only be a point behind Man Utd if they best us on Sunday.
Could be 7th......

If we had to rank the 7 teams from hardest opponent to easiest opponent, what would the order be?
According to the betting sites:
Fiorentina, Lille, Fenerbahce, Club Brugge, Pizen, PAOK, Olympiakos.

We need 3 wins, assuming we draw a couple of the others, to get 5th
i reckon we need 12 points from the last 10 games tbh to be sure of 5th, assuming Manure dont go wacky and massively over-perform in the last 10 games.

4 goals in 659 mins, or 1 goal every 1.83 games.
erratic but effective.

re united.
They would need to average 2 PPG for the last 10 games to hit 67 points, we would need to achieve 1.2 PG for the last 10 games to hit 67 points.
We have the goal difference advantage currently, so in all likelihood we would need to drop just below 1.2 PPG, while manure maintain 2 PPG, for us to lose 5th.
Anything is possible ofc, but fingers crossed we dont drop off that badly for the last 10 games.

I know their stature is long gone, however I love that we knocked out a huge name in European football
ye, regardless of how good they are right now, Ajax is one of those genuine glitter names in football, they are a club steeped in history, spanking them is always special.

he's basically Traore, without the skills, but with muscles, speed and a rocket shot isnt he.
excitement 11/10, WTF are you doing 11/10, off the wall 11/10, erratic-ness 11/10, mental balance and knowing what he is going to do next 1/10.

For 24/25 in terms of sponsors is this accurate:
Kit Manufacturer - Adidas
Front of Shirt sponsor - Likely new sponsor with BK8 dropping?
Sleeve Sponsor - Trade Nation
Training Kit sponsor - Likely new sponsor
That right? Lots of opportunity for additional revenue there?
BK8 dropping?, i thought we signed a 3 year deal with them in June 23?, so it runs out in June 26?
-
im assuming it will be Christmas/new year before we see him back fully fit?
If so, we defo need a DM in the summer.

Here is a thought.
Salary cap based on percentage of Broadcast and ticket revenue only.
Eliminates efforts having to deal with related party sponsorships, makes it easy to audit revenue figures, allows better ran clubs to actually make some money by having good commercial deals.
that would be much too logical....

thanks.
obviously i dont know what 89% is money wise, but i did a graph not long ago, implying that just getting rid of our dead wood, fringe players, or second string players who earn too much (if we can), would save something like 900k per week, and something like 45m a year in wages, im guessing that would at least make our position a lot better salary wise, even if we reinvested a good portion of it?
Obviously, that means actually being able to offload the dead wood.
edit: here was my table.

Sky Sports video about the new rules. Hopefully get full rules at some point
so, if its a salary to turnover % type thing, where are we in terms of turnover compared to other PL clubs?, we are probably mid table?
(so, unless we can increase revenue massively, this will limit us as well)
is this type of limitation, better than the current FFP tho!?

Didn’t we have 8 teams qualify for Europe this past year?
not via the league i dont think?
7 from the league, 1 from spam winning the conference league?

Can i just confirm.....
5th spot CL if we get top 2 in the CL thingy ma bob.
Does the league also get a second Europa League spot if the winner of the FA Cup has already qualified for Europe via the league?
So in theory, could there possibly be a scenario where top 5 is CL, then 6th AND 7th Europa League, and 8th Conference League?!?!
edit: i see something about 8 PL teams can never qualify for Europe directly from the league.
so what happens if we get the 5 CL places in the PL, and a team qualifying for europe wins with FA cup, where does the Europa league placing go?, to the runner up?

Villa park needs to be a Cauldron.
Unfortunately, more often than not, its at best bubbling water in a small saucepan.
I know Villa Park "can" be a Cauldron, but so many times its just luke warm, almost inviting, and not hostile.

They just beat us 4-0 at Villa Park. They have everyone back now. There is no way they are throwing away 4th. We need to get 5th.
i checked the 5th/6th thing last week, although after the recent weeks game the information has changed slightly, it is as below now.
Man Utd would need to maintain 2 PPG, for the last 10 games to get 67 points.
We would need to drop to a 1.2 PPG scenario over the last 10 games, to also get 67 points.
Manure, so far this season, have averaged 1.7 PPG, so a slight performance spike might allow them to get the 2 PPG they need to reach 67 points.
We have averaged 1.96 PPG so far this season, but with all the injuries and a bit of a drop in form the last 10 games or so, i personally think we wont achieve the near 2 PPG for the last 10 games of the season, however, it would be a real, genuine drop off for us to drop to the 1.2 PPG we would need, to have a 67 point finish.
Even then though, we have an 18 goal difference buffer on Manure (Manure - 0, Villa +18), so in the above scenario, we would still finish above them, as long as we maintain it.
So really, Manure need to maintain 2 PPG for the final 10, and we need to average less than 1.2 PPG.
for reference, 1.2 PPG over the next 10, would mean something like 3 wins, 3 draws, 4 losses, or 4 wins, 0 draws, 6 losses......etc etc)
Anyway, in a nutshell, it would be a real collapse by us, coupled with an amazing end to the season for Manure, to pip us to 5th.
We are Villa ofc, and anything is possible.

what i liked with him, is he played at least 2, maybe more of those defence cutting through balls that Tielemans does so well.
Granted they didnt entirely work, but the fact he can see the pass and try to make it is a really good sign for me, once he settles, learns Emery's ways and gains some confidence, i think he is going to be very good.
he also looks comfortable on the ball and driving forward with it, the lad looks like he has oodles of potential to me.
