There's that but there's also the fact this isn't Iran going '**** it, war', they've chosen to attack quite carefully with a sharp hit everyone knew was coming without going all out. If they wanted to go for it seriously you'd have seen every Iran aligned proxy actor firing everything alongside the direct Iran based attack, attempting to overwhelm the defence system with numbers. They've not done that, and their comment about the attack essentially proves that - they've said they have retaliated for the consulate attack, and they consider the matter done. So the defence system might not stand up quite so well if Iran fancied really escalating.

i think this is the point many might be missing.

I have seen numerous reports that Iran basically advised America and Israel exactly what they were going to do, so as to be able to show they retaliated, but without the actual risk of escalation as what they were doing was effectively advised in advance.

obviously, who knows what is true, but as you say, if iran actually wanted to do a proper attack, this isnt how they would have done it i dont think.

a couple of hours ago the reports were "drones on the way to Israel, they will arrive in a couple of hours", no way any serious attack would have been done in that way, its like telegraphing exactly what you are doing.

  2. Weirdly, i would say Newcastle are more of a threat now than Manure, if you had to say which one of them was a threat.

Both teams on same points and same games, but.....

Newcastle's run in is Palace, Sheff utd, Burnley, Brighton, Manure & Brentford.

Manure's run in is Sheff Utd, Burnley, Palace, Arsenal, Newcastle, Brighton.

tbh, both have a much easier run in than us or Spurs.

  3. Arsenal have zero chance with the man, the legend, the true hero and elite generational player playing against them, that is Eric Dier, Southgate must be salivating at the thought of bringing him back in to the fold once he puts Arsenal to the sword.

In terms of UEFA coefficient is it worked out on a by game basis, or as a result of the tie? I’m guessing if German sides get knocked out and English teams go through then England can still add to the total but Germany can’t? Is that how it works?

game basis, points for a win, draw etc.

if all german sides are knocked out, they cant get any more points.

if we still have clubs in europe, we can add points via results.

think of arsenal vs bayern as a 6 pointer.....cus if they can knock bayern out, and pick up points from both legs (win/draw etc), then that would be super dupa.

  5. they way he took the ball, turned, moved, shot, scored.

    just pure quality.

if he can develop his wider game to suit Emery, he will be an absolute diamond.

  6. he speaks sense tbh, talking about that we concede silly goals when we should have killed it off, that we seem to relax when we go 2-0 up, and he questioned whether we have the game intelligence and play smart, to manage games at times.

I would be interested but I have zero intent in actually going through the number of times we’ve pissed away a two goal lead.

Today probably doesn’t even break the top ten since I’ve been following them. At least we ended up coming back ourselves and earning a point.

It says something that when I try and list the number of times we’ve come back from two goals down, I’m stuck on that Arsenal game with the falling Santa. Whereas there are plenty of examples the other way around.

any links to watkins comments?, vid?

  8. before anyone loses their mind, im not saying we wont get 5th, but the data for our recent performances is really poor, and its been on a downward trajectory for a while tbh.

    • Over the last 5 games, we have averaged 1PPG.
    • Over the last 10 games, we have averaged 1.7 PPG.
    • Over the last 15 games we have averaged 1.5 PPG.
    • That is a big drop off from the first 20 games, which was consistently 1.8 to 2.2 PPG on avg.

You just need to look at this, to see how our form has slowly dropped off, and its dropped in a steady, consistent way.

Maybe we are just tired and finding it hard to drag ourselves over the line, dunno.

There will be some interest in this lad in the Summer. He’s top, top class. He’d suit someone like City perfectly. Would cost a small fortune and doubt we’d sell.

will be an interesting summer, i do wonder that if someone offered 100m for one of our key players, i would imagine we would sell one of them.

Funny really, i never thought i would say that i could imagine more than one of our players being worth 75m+ lol.....what a world.

then again, depends on if this spending tax comes in (in place of FFP), in that scenario, we wouldnt need to sell at all.

That's illogical. You're saying Manure are going to win 4 of last 8 and turnaround 18pts GD and we'll lose every game or some variant of results as ridiculous as that

its illogical to say it not over until its over?

thats about as logical as it gets.

Statistically i agree, its highly unlikely now, but it isnt over, until it is.

We just need to do our business and it will be done soon, hopefully.

    Surely that’s top 5 confirmed?

the optimist in me says yes, but the pessimist in me says we need to keep doing our job, and just get as many points as we can.

its isnt over till its over, and the better we do, the sooner its over.
