I really don't care too much for Newcastle as a team, they don't play very attractive football & seem to lack any ambition other than avoiding relegation. I would much rather Fulham stay up & Newcastle get relegated.

That's the quickest I've seen Barkley run, shame it was going back up the tunnel.

I still think he's a decent player but too much of a defensive liability. If they could recoach into him some of his defensive attributes or mindset that he'd previously had in previous clubs he would be worth the 30 million. But right now, I don't think he should be starting unless we play something like 2 DMs to compensate.
Ross Barkley really hasn't changed that much as a player , he was inconsistent at Everton & Chelsea. Always had talent but never the thought process or the work ethic to be top drawer. He most certainly will not find a spot on a Thomas Tuchel team !

It has been said before, if you loan a player from the top clubs you pay a financial penalty if you dont play them
I don't believe that "play" clause was in place but I but I understand a return clause was in place. If you don't keep him you pay double.

Loftus cheek is younger and cheaper.
I like the idea of signing him but I would go for someone else personally
He has no interest in the defensive side of the game.! Very few teams can afford to carry that kind of player anymore. Most managers demand defensive responsibility from all players today.

Why he's throwing tantrums when getting subbed is beyond me. If he put as much effort on the pitch as he does sulking when coming off it, maybe he'd not get subbed to begin with.
If there is a Midfielder Chelsea deem surplus this summer that we end up buying, I'd rather we took a punt on Loftus-Cheek.
Go to the Fulham forum, they are very unimpressed with Loftus-Cheek. His defensive contribution has been poor & his touch around goal seems to have deserted him.
Personally I would call it quits on loaning Chelsea midfielders, getting done a third time would be really embarrassing .

I think Barnes is behind Grealish and Rashford - which is a pretty tough place to be - a pity for him as he's a really good player.
Probably showing my ignorance here but is Rashford really that good !
He is lazy off the ball & just blasts the ball at goal when he gets in. Very little finesse.
I wouldn't trade Barnes for Rashford straight up.

Southgate is an idiot. Barnes Grealish Maddison should be starting for England.

I actually think Barkley played a bit better today. But I love Ramsey. I love the way he was telling players where to move when to move etc. He looked so comfortable on the ball. Same with Sanson.
In the second half we looked better because Douglas Luiz didn't move from the number 6 position. He also improved as a result. Alex Scott picked up on it and I've been saying this for a while.
Harvey Barnes is the winger we need.
He's mustard isn't he ? The fact that Leicester are getting goals from him & Maddison has drastically improved Leicester.
Not sure if Southgate is convinced though.

No way that Barkley or Loftus-Cheek will get a look in at Tuchel's Chelsea team. Both will be on the market this Summer but I don't see either one going for big bucks.

That would be his dilema, uproot the family for glory or stay and plod along, you are bang on, every club that could afford him would go for it regardless.
People don't think about it too much but not every player wants to move his wife & kids away from family & friends. Or live in a hotel room in Manchester & get home once a week.I see him as Spurs player for life.

This is very true but I think Kane is a happily married family fan earning more then he can ever spend already, wouldn't surprise me if he is a lifer at spuds.
I guess it just depends on his ambition, I'm sure at some point in time he would like to win something. Not many clubs would drop 150 large on a 27 year old striker with bad ankles.

Would like to see Ings playing for the Villa.
Not if it meant less playing time for Ollie !
Apparently Ings is looking for European footie, preferably Champions League .

Funnily enough, watching Chelsea yesterday, I thought they were quite boring.
No one really driving through the middle etc.
I criticise him quite a lot, however it must be said, If Deano and the board decide he is worth spending good money on, at seasons end, I'll be ok with that.
As afterall, they seem to know what they are doing.
They certainly do whereas I find I'm wrong time after time.
I just don't think Barkley or Loftus-Cheek fit into that Chelsea team.

If they're asking that much they must want to keep him - half that would be right IMO.
I don't think they want to keep him at all, he is not making Tuchel's Chelsea team any time soon. I think some one has tossed out a number & the press have ran with it.
There is no denying his talent but he has always struggled with consistency.
As to making the England squad, who knows what Southgate is thinking. He struggled to recognize that Jack is a baller but thinks Winks is mustard.

just remember, Everton lost to Newcastle the other day. These games happen in the PL -- we aren't at the level of Man City yet, we can't be expecting to win every match. We will have off days
The League is very different this season with no home advantage without fans in the stadiums. There are no easy games for any team right now & any club can win at any time. Man C are on a different level to the rest of us .

think it's fun for the kids. I really don't mind too much as a supporter. Let Klopp get a clean shot at the trophy he ironically doesn't even want XD. him playing a near full strength team after all his bitching just puts him in the poor light really.
It's fun for the kids to get a start but not fun to lose by double figures. Lets hope for the best !

Ridiculous that this is going ahead. A black eye for Football

Most clubs are missing the gate revenue and won't have too much cash to splash unless they sell first. I think it could be a very quiet window.

I am a big fan of Ollie Watkins & I think he is adapting to the Premier League quite well. I have no doubts that the goals will come for him.

I personally believe that Dean Smith is a way better Coach/Manager than Steve Bruce and that reflects in the way the teams play. Jack Grealish is a one of a kind baller but without him Villa are still the better team.
