Ings is lethal. Sort of striker we need. Give them 40m if we stay up
He is a Bona Fide striker.!! I believe Southampton paid 22 mil for him.

My side for this match would be: Heaton
Guilbert Engels Mings Targett
McGinn Nakamba Drinkwater
El Ghazi Samatta Grealish (c)
Subs: Nyland, Elmohamady, Konsa, Taylor, Luiz, Trezeguet, Wesley
The fact that Drinkwater didn't make the bench for Sheffield leads me to believe that he will be returned to Chelsea at the end of the month.

He is done isn't he?
Saying that game probably would have suited him today. Slow pace and would have been nice to have someone pass the ball forward to feet
He has a year left on his Chelsea contract I think & I can't see any team wanting his contract on their payroll. I feels career is very close to being done. Its a damn shame because he could play at a high level at one point.

Completely forgot Leicester signed Ryan Bennett from Wolves when I was looking at some team news for the weekend.
I'd say he'd be a target in the summer if Leicester don't sign him full time. Been a regular for Wolves over last 18 months although I guess they want to upgrade CB in summer and feel he won't match up to where they want to be in next 2-3 years (Saiss has also done very well filling in at CB this season) but he has decent european experience now, used to playing in a back 3 and only just turned 30 so fits the experienced head I want to calm Mings down.
Should cost a bit mroe than Hause did but he's a lot better given Hause never got close to playing for Wolves in premier league. Apparently Leicester have option to buy for 5m so guess they might take that up.
Leicester were looking for short term coverage when they loaned Bennet so I feel he will be available when the Summer market eventually opens. I think he would be a good purchase for you.

Sam Allardyce, said recently, the teams that will stay up are those that concede the least in the last 10 games.
I think he is right.......whether, i like his football or not.
Fat Sam is right !!!
Learn how to defend first and that allows the team to create offence

Mate, I think you have misunderstood his username. He is not a football fan, he is just posting from his house in Spain.
He's a wind-up merchant ! My visits to VillaTalk have greatly improved since I discovered the ignore function.

I think Mahrez struggled his 1st season in Premier League as well from promotion and playing wide is not the easiest role
Mahrez did struggle to adapt to English footballs as so many overseas players do. He was not very interested in the defensive side of the game and needed a dedicated defender behind him.

Do you remember his performances at the 2018 World Cup? He was magnificent
He was decent. Very Good in the penalties but Magnificent is pushing it. He has a 6.35 rating this season so far & Tom Heaton was at 6.57 !
He has let in quite a few easy goals due to lack of concentration. Dean Henderson has been a far superior keeper (6.75) this season & should be starting for England based on performance.

I am sure you will find a way to be embarrassed even if we won 5-0
Regardless of what happens, he will manage to find a negative from the game.

For me, Pickford is the undisputed number 1 for me with Henderson and Pope as number 2 and 3 respectively
Pickford is extremely suspect. He has a f**k up in him that can surface when least expected. He wouldn't make my England team at all !

I think the remaining games will favour the best teams. We are good enough to stay up if Jack hits the ground running and he always performs after resting. For me the lockdown has favoured no one more than us. UTV
I agree 100%
Empty stadiums will favour the team that plays the best football for the most part. Less travel and stadium familiarity will help the home team a little but it will come down to skill and desire. I agree that the lockdown has favoured Villa.

And who we beat over two legs to reach the cup final.
Ya just had to remind me about that ... I've been drinking trying to forget.
Semi finals count but pre-season means very little.

IF we stay up, then I hope, as Chelsk have bought Werner, then Hudson-Odi or Pulisic might be available, the kind of signings we should be making
Pulisic is 50 Million plus & Hudson Odoi is 30 Million plus and both are 100 plus a week !

Agreed mate. We could do with 3 quality players to improve the starting 11 and then maybe 1 or 2 of the better players from the so called weaker leagues that don’t have to slot straight into the first 11 and instead have time to adjust to the club and players, a bit like Leicester have done with soyuncu and Justin, they have been given a season to get to know the club and soyuncu stepped up to fill the hole from slab head and Justin will likely do the same should chillwell leave.
I agree with you 100% !! Having said that it requires solid scouting to pick the right prospects to ease in to the team.
By the way, Justin can play left or right back & will almost certainly fill in for right back Pereira who is out with knee ligament damage.

I'd be wary of signing too many players from championship clubs and poorer premier league teams, I think if we want to progress we're going to not only have to sign better quality players but also players with experience at playing and succeeding at an higher level, ones that can set an example and set higher standards for the club, not everyone has to meet that criteria of course but it will help if we can bring in a few like that. That said wouldn't mind either of Eze or Benrahama.
I think there are some gems to be found in the Championship & what I like them is that they are used to English football. They are used to the physicality and used to playing on a cold wet windy night in November.

Nothing wrong with 4-3-3........but you have to have the right type of players to play it.
I realize that managers have their favourite formations but I always felt that initially the formation should be based on the players you possess. Then bring in the right players to play the formation you favour. Too many managers stubbornly force a system onto a team that don't have the capability of playing it.

Interesting detail on the five subs though is.
"While each team can make five substitutions, each team will still only have three opportunities to make changes throughout the match in order to minimize disruption to the game"

If the big clubs gets their with 5 substitutes which is grossly unfair in many ways With their bigger in quality squads we should be allowed to re-register Heaton (Was Steer retained in the squad ?) and Wesley. It’s not as if we would be using players who didn’t already start for us and a fair concession to the smaller clubs.
My understanding is that they can be registered but both are still injured and unlikely to be fit in time. Hopefully the 5 sub rule will allow some academy players a run out !

His performances in the months before his contract came up were more than deserving of a new deal. We got into a regular pattern where he would come off the bench, look bright in a crap team, then mysteriously not play again for a game or two, then repeat. I think Lambert must have already made his mind up that he was going to move him on, which was stupid and much less than Albrighton deserved. I've nothing but time for the guy.
He is not getting a lot of game time this season and I have wondered if he might return home to Villa to finish his career. He has made no secret of how upset he was to leave the club that he loved. At 30 yrs old he still has lots of football left in him.

I have nothing but respect for Marc Albrighton. He has been a class act at Leicester, never complaining and always ready when called upon.
