Looking at it I think 34pts will keep you up
That would be a low number, I can see Watford & West Ham getting 36/37 pts

So I guess the points total to stay up gets less and less every week if the teams at the bottom of the league continue to pick up nil points?
What do people think is the total to stay up now?
I think 37 or maybe 38 points will keep a team up.

Newcastle are still in it, if they win one soon then it could calm them, otherwise they’re still in it.
Bournemouth went on two to three months with only 4-5 points.
The more I look at it I think Brighton & Newcastle should be safe & it will be between Villa, West Ham, Watford & Bournemouth for the last two spots. Watford & West Ham appear to have the most favourable run in out of the Four. Villa need to go on a run if they want to survive.

Five teams in contention for two spots ! Whichever team could string three wins together would distance themselves from the pack but no team has looked likely to do it.

If they can find time to criticise him after him carrying us all season, maybe it is time for him to go and join a team where players support him and he don't have to do it all on his own.
To have the gall to have a pop at him, while the rest of the bag of spanners, drift around aimlessly, beggars belief.
I have heard it all now.
Twitter is a cess pool for morons where no one is held accountable for vile, stupid or racist remarks. The shame is that shabby second rate hacks like to quote from twitter for click bait purposes. I ditched twitter about six months ago and do not miss it in the slightest.

Couldn't believe the price myself, either. The bookies are not wrong too often, but seem to want to bet against us this time. I hope they have the odds very wrong this time. Let's bust a few odds on punter's coupons, this weekend!
I'm a bit surprised at the odds myself. Southampton are 1.6-1 & Villa are 5-1. I'll be having a little flutter on this one.

He's either shitting his pants on the ball or is incapable of turning and playing the ball forward. I really want him to come good, but do we have time for him to find his feet? I'd rather see Nakamba play and bleed Drinkwater in off the bench.
I desperately wanted him to come good for you but I think his lack of playing time over the last 2.5 years has taken a toll on him. His passing percentage of 85% is nothing special and his lack of mobility is quite obvious. I agree with AV82 that he would be better used coming off the bench for shorter spells but my confidence in him has dropped drastically.

After an ok start yesterday he eventually got over ran and Struggled. I would have preferred Nakamba to start to be honest.
He’s a shadow of the player he was at Leicester.
I agree. He never was overly quick atLeicester but his positioning & passing made up for it. The big plus for him was that he had Kante covering for him.
I don't understand why at this stage of the season he is not in shape and why Villa signed him knowing that. I'm very disappointed with him & don't see much of a future for him other than running his contract out at Chelsea.

Although it's annoying, all this noise is good for the end of the season. Even if we go down, the bigger a deal he seems the more we can charge, it all gets added up.
As well as being an absolute baller, Jack is turning into a superstar. Playing for Villa, there's no way he should be the star of the England squad, but it feels like he's got the most eyes on him of any English player right now.
£65m starting price for me.
For me it would have to be 80 million or no deal. He's worth all of that in this inflated market.

It looks like six clubs are in the relegation race with Norwich having one of the spots locked up. Which of the five clubs can string some wins together is the question, it looked like Watford could but the wheels are falling off at the moment. I'm shocked that West Ham have are in the mix.

People laughed at them hiring Pearson, but he's doing a phenomenal job. They're not in the relegation scrap for long.
I'm fully expecting them to give us a kicking again on Tuesday.
He does best when Shakespeare is there to take care of the tactics but he is a wonderful motivator and brings discipline to the team.
In all fairness he took over a team that has lots of talent but seemed to lack leadership.

I suspect that by the end of the season he will be looking good, the problem is we don’t have the time to get him match fit. It’d be typical Villa for him to start playing brilliantly just after we’ve been relegated
I really want him to succeed but I think it would have worked better if he got the last 30 minutes of games until he got up to speed.

so we will only get 5 more points this season while playing an extra game to everybody else
Not too sure why because in my mind there are still lots of points up for grabs but Betway have these odds for relegation
Norwich 1.16
Bournemouth 1.53
Villa 1.72
Burnley 4.5
Watford 4.5
Im surprised at the spread.

Now knowing that we can’t stay up, I’d take £40M for him now. Playing him for rest of season just means we run the risk of him picking up an injury and not being sold in the summer.
Personally i feel that is just crazy.
The other thing that bothers me is that you value Jack as low as 40M. Maddison is being talked about at 60 to 80 & Grealish has to be close to that as well.

Mahrez £400,000 from LeHavre, I think.
crazy
we must be due a bit of luck.
It's funny. Steve Walsh was head of recruitment when Mahrez was signed & got a job at Everton based on his success at Leicester & proceeded to shat the bed.
It's hard to know what goes on behind closed doors at any club, who is actually pulling the trigger & who is just along for the ride ?

Slimani's injured, has a muscle strain.
It has been ongoing for Slimani the last few years, I would be careful signing him due to injury problems.

Don't really care about the results around us... Need our players to focus on the only thing they can influence, our own results.
That's funny you say that. I just watched a Nigel Pearson interview & thats what he said he told his players.

I wasn't sure about the foreign loans.

Anyone know how many loans we’re allowed?
Four per season but only two at any one time with the exception of a goalkeeper if it can be proven that injuries have created a need.

Yes Glen Murray would get ten playing with Marc A on the wing.

Sign Benteke, get Young and Albrighton and get crosses into the box. Put Jack in the middle to glue it all together. Top six before you know it. Cheap too!
Funny you should say that. Marc Allbrighton is fantastic at getting crosses in early but Leicester really do not have an aerial threat. Marc would look good with a target like Benteke to aim for.

What kind of player is he guru?
Was he England class back then or just part of an effective machine that improved him?
He was definitely England quality back then, he was very neat and tidy on the ball Not flashy but very efficient. I have no idea what you guys will be getting but I hope he shines for you.

It's very hard to disagree with that statement. For me Jack is a special talent and I can only imagine how good he could be playing with top class players.
