Honestly dont think they have. At least 10 blatant errors not overturned which begs the question, what is the point in even having it ?

I can see a knee jerk reaction coming in the VAR shite show. They will over turn everything this weekend

If we lose this, we may as well book our Championship tickets for next season....

Its a bit early for that I think. Its more than possible to lose 20 and still stay up. Not saying thats what will happen but its early days yet.

Nope. I think 36 will give you a decent chance this season.

Only one team in the last six years has gone down having reached 36 points.

Forty points to be on the safe side. The points are a touch easier to come by at the start & become progressively harder as the season progresses

I don't think rotating and mixing it up too much is the answer here. It's a team learning to know each other. We just need patience and let them gel over the next few months. The only change I'd probably do is bringing on Guilbert and Targett mid-game.

I agree, I think it is way to soon to make a lot of changes. I think Dean Smith will tweak a little but he's too good a Manager to hit the panic button just yet.

At least we are creating chances.

Palace and Newcastle looks worse than us.

Newcastle are a train wreck both and off the field, they have to be favourites for relegation unless they do something big in the Winter transfer market.

Talked to a Brugge supporter before the season started & got his feedback on Wesley, Marvelous, & Engels.  He said that Engels wouldn't make waves in any of his games, but would be quietly consistent and rarely puts in a wrong foot.  Said he's an extremely underrated & intelligent defender who would make it in the Premier League and so far, he looks to be right on the money.

Also, he said Nakamba would be a superstar in a few years of Premier League football.  Called him the next Kante.

That is high praise indeed. Just to be compared to Kante is crazy.

Would be very surprised if he's still in charge by the time Newcastle come to VP in late November.

Newcastle's main strength last season was keeping things tight in defence so shipping three to newly promoted team isn't great for their long term prospects.

Ashley doesn't like to pay out contracts. He will stick with Bruce at least into the new year.

Lets be honest ... Villa fans should want  Bruce to stay as long as possible, he has a 28% lifetime winning percentage.

Performance is all that matters for me at this stage.

If we perform poorly and scrape a Win, ill welcome 3 points but be a little disappointed.

If we perform really well and lose unluckily, ill be fine.

Of course, what we all want is both, and I think we have a reasonable chance of both.

First season back in the prem the only thing that matters is winning. Whether ugly or pretty it doesn't matter. Forty points is the only thing that matters.

I think far too many people are thinking Bournemouth are easy. I think it will take us a while to get going. These were the sort of games Wolves struggled in last year

There are no easy games in the Premier League !!!

So much money at stake that every game counts. Villa need to put down a marker & take all three points from a possible relegation candidate

Looking forward to this game. It will give us a clearer picture of where we are re: Premier League quality. I have high hopes.

I agree. Too many clubs seem to play their best against the top teams but Villa needs to take points from bottom half clubs like Bournemouth

Not many teams will come away from Liverpool, Manchester City or even Spurs with anything this season. Some teams will concede three goals or more. Our season will be defined by our results against the rest of the league.

Anything gained against these three clubs would be a major bonus. For quite some time, despite the increasing pressure upon us, it seemed possible that we might unexpectedly hold onto at least a point. We were eventually undone by a striker that if made available for transfer, would cost more than all of the new players that we have just bought.

It is perhaps early days to judge how effective this new look Villa team can become. It will need to settle and quickly look to minimise errors that are punished more often than not in the PL. The two teams that did battle today have differing objectives this season. Spurs are looking to qualify for the CL again. Our initial target has to be safety. Today's game suggested to me, that both clubs may well hit their targets.

100% right..Taking points from any of the top six will be extremely difficult & unlikely. To survive in the Prem its all about taking points from the clubs like Newcastle, Sheffield & Southampton. Beat the clubs around you.

Dunk is also proven in the Premier League, there’s no reason why Mings can’t emulate Dunk or Maguire but he’s not quite on their level just yet, simply due to the fact that Mings has only played a handful of games in the Premier League

I certainly believe that Mings has a very high upside. Playing Premier league footy will definitely improve him.

Ignoring any stupid transfer fees i think given a straight choice between Dunk, MaGuire & Mings i think i woud pick Mings

Maguire is way ahead of Mings, not saying Mings can't get there but he still has some work to do.

Signs for £0, relatively low wages, plays a couple of cup games, does ok, doesn't fully make the grade, sold to a championship club for £5m

If all 4 of those youngsters do the same Leicester are £20 up and buying one playing who has made the grade

If even one of them makes it then happy days

    Smart, risk free

    I agree

It's good business by Leicester, he appears to have potential & British players are  at a premium these days. Maybe he can develop with LCFC
