Man Utds income is something ridiculous. They can spend what they want, fail, rinse and repeat until they get it right. Seems unfair as we can spend, fail and end up in the championship for 10 years hoping our owners continue to prop us up. We simply have to stay up somehow

So its about shirt sales & sponsorship  ?  It's in place to look after the big six !!

  2. None of this FFP makes any sense to me whatsoever !!  Leicester ran afoul of it when they got promoted but only received a relatively small fine. Man U piss money around like sailor on shore leave but it doesn't seem to affect them. I find it all a bit dodgy.

Finally some fans are beginning to wake up to what I said weeks ago about Smith not being good enough for this league. His naivety in the transfer market not signing a proven striker has been instrumental in our failure to get results. Our owners were just as naive giving him a contract extension, a gesture which he has repaid them with by taking us into the relegation zone for xmas. Get rid now and get Poch in and give him a January war chest to keep us up!

I'm not sure that Poch is a relegation battler, probably better to give Fat Sam a contract till the end of the season. He wouldn't be cheap but he knows what to do.

I’d take Bentake on loan until the end of the season. Our situation is desperate.

His best before date has gone over. He couldn't score in a brothel with a big bag of cash in his jeans.

He is not the man to rescue the season. I would take Wesley over Benteke every day of the week.

If he can yes. That was the question with Maupay and we chose not to pay the price for that reason. Too late to change that decision now, sadly.

We really do need a striker early into the window and will need to pay enough to minimise the risk of him not getting the goals that we need in my opinion. Otherwise it's a high risk strategy to hope that a striker from the Championship or abroad, for less money can hit the ground running.

I may be completely wrong on this but I think players from the Championship  adapt to the Prem faster than players from abroad. Not saying its always the case but at least they've experienced football on a cold rainy Wednesday night with defenders having a kick at you.

Bowen should be around £15m. I don't see us paying £20m or £25m for him. I think £12m - 18m might well swing it, if not we tell them, that we will be looking elsewhere.

The January window is usually overpriced as the selling clubs know they are in the drivers seat. If Bowen can score goals in the Prem then 20-25 is cheap.

He's worth a gamble, surely? How much though £20m?

I get the feeling that Hull will try and get 25 for him. Always a big demand for a prolific goalscorer ... the question is can he do it at the Premier League level .

    Russia.

And tbf they pretty much got their money back when he moved to Saudi Arabia.

They might take a hit on Slimani thou. But he's having a great season on loan at Monaco so maybe not.

We will not come close to making back the 30 mil spent on Slimani or the 22 mil spent on Adrien Silva. We've made our share of mistakes.

Its an improvement on what we had for me....I suppose if you want a Ricardo Periera, you have to spend 25 mill Euros like Leicester.

I seemed like a lot of money at the time for a right back but he has been fantastic & probably doubled in value. Lets be honest though the transfer market in general is a mine field. I think Targett has been  a decent buy though.

If we look at a random team...let's say Leicester (😉) in your good start to the season you only actually kept two clean sheets in first nine games. However you only conceded more than once in the Liverpool away game.

To me if you just concede once in a game you should still be reasonably confident of getting a result as Leicester showed in the early weeks.

It's when you concede 2s and 3s on a regular basis that makes winning games very difficult and we're having a sticky spell at the back no doubt. Part of why I think Norwich are certs to go down as they've been conceding 2 a game since pretty much the first game of the season and they simply can't outscore teams like they did in the championship.

    I agree with you 100%

Would be fine if we had a decent striker. We would outscore most teams.

They score 2 we score 4. They score 3 we score 5

"Goals win games but defences win championships"

Attempting to outscore the other team is usually a very poor plan ! You can see what has happened to Man C with a suspect D and they have offence up the yingyang.

  12. Teams have been sitting back against Leicester lately and making them work for it. They have evolved into a possession based team under Rodgers but still like to spring Vardy on the counter.

I don't think Dean Smith will want to play too open a game on Sunday but I expect Grealish to play a blinder against Madisson. I think the game will be a dandy !!

  13. Striker is without a doubt the toughest purchase out there. Mitrovic from Fulham is proven but would probably cost 35+ while Bowen from Hull may be the real thing but it looks like 20mil to find out. Possibly a loan deal for Iheanacho from Leicester could be worked out as the lad isn't playing too much.

Would love us to sign Allan Saint-Maximin off Newcastle if they are relegated 👌 if he works at his end product he will be some player.

Also Jetro Willems could be worth a look to challenge Targett at left back . He is only on loan to the barcodes from Eintracht Frankfurt

I don't see Newcastle being relegated this year !!

Hate ManUre. Hate 'em and their glory hunting fans with a passion (mind you, those fans probably now follow Citeh).

What make it worse is that we never get anything against them....

... and, sadly, I don't see that changing this weekend.

I think Sheffield showed that this team can be got at !! I think Aston Villa have the ability to control the midfield and could definitely take some points from this. The key for me will be bagging an early goal.

20m? Don't be silly he'll have 5 months left on his contract come the end of Jan so unless Hull are happy to see him move for free in the summer I can see his fee being 10-15m.

My understanding is that Hull have the option of a one year extension. I think a few clubs will be interested in him.

  17. I think Mings is doing just fine. He is growing into the game & adjusting to playing with Maguire. For me he would be the starter with Maguire for the Euros.

PS .. Twitter is filled with morons who have very little idea of what they talk about. I quit it a while ago.
