Anywhere in Erdington available . As big a Villa area as there is ain’t it?

Yep. As a former Pype Hayes boy I’d confirm that. Then of course there’s Kingstanding room only. Anywhere in north Birmingham is Villa land! UTV!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m more worried about the parking around the ground, I’ll be buying a monster truck next so I can park on top of other cars.  Plus I’ll have sleep in it because it’ll take a week to get away from the ground with all that traffic.  Feel sorry for those looking to get a pint at half time.

Which is one of the reasons why the future isn’t in bums on seat, it’s all about selling the club to the world not to a few thousand locals. People live their lives on the sofa these days, everything is available on line now, that’s just the way it is and NSWE are savvy enough to realise this. Covid proved that fans at grounds are no longer necessary to keep the money rolling. We need to get ahead of the game not stuck in the mud of the 1970s/80s. Before moving away from Brum I had a season ticket, so I don’t get to games very often now and so I’m probably less bothered about the subject than I was. Ok my situation is not necessarily the same as those who do live within reasonable traveling distance of B6 but the world has changed since I saw my first game at Villa Park when we were a third division club but it has definitely changed a lot and continues to change, with or without my permission. The future isn’t the same as anyone can reliably predict either now or what we thought 20 years ago. So I’m not claiming any wise vision of the future but spending millions or billions of pounds on bricks and mortar infrastructure, I would guess isn’t likely to happen. There has to be a better way and hopefully the decision makers at the club make the right decisions or we could suffer for a long time in the future. I’m reasonably confident that the digns seem right at this important point in our history. At least we’ve stopped appointing rubbish people to run the playing side, which I’d like to think will always remain important no matter what the future holds for us. Aston Villa Football Club will remain a football club for another thousand years. By which time we may have even won the FA Cup again!! Fingers crossed UTV!!!!!

Quick look on Rightmove at houses for sale withtin half a mile of VP, including a few in that group of roads behind the Doug Ellis. They range from 170k to 200k. So it's not far off

Fair enough, I wouldn’t pay it though!!

    I haven’t counted all the houses. Let’s says there’s 400 houses at 200k each. Offer 10% over. That’s £220k per house. That’s 88 million right there.

£200k for a house in Aston? You’ve got to be kidding! Besides I don’t think the future for increased revenues is bums on seats, it’s all about TV and sponsorship deals which can be increased globally, which is why our new partnership with Artairos  is happening I assume.

Dave....Then you should know better than anyone......You and I was not brought up on that defending....Ron would turn in his grave, watching that puny offering, from 2-0 to 2-3

    It was truly shocking.....

I don't think it's fair, to deny any fan a moan after that debacle of a collapse.

We all have to move on, because we have no choice, but to dismiss that, with any mitigation, is a bit rich, for me.

I’m sure you understand what I’m aluring to my old pal. I completely understand and agree that people will complain after a poor performance of any kind but for me there are limits and a modicum of support should be aforded, after all it’s a unique form of entertainment and our support is all we have to contribute, since I doubt many of us, me definitely, aren’t good enough to put on a pair of boots,! Apologies to anyone offended,  who could do a job for us when called upon. I’m not sure I have the energy to run the length of the tunnel these days myself!!

The reason why me and others have this fear of Man U pipping us no matter how remote is because of these defeat from the jaws of victory events, over literally years, especially to those fetid cysts. It feels like you can never relax no matter how far the goals or points lead as we always have the ability to commit seppuku it seems. It wasn't so long ago we were 8 ahead of arsenal in a race for 4th and finished behind them. We were even 12 ahead of Everton and finished below them! That trauma lingers 🤣

    If you let it.

It's a club mentality thing. When the pressure is on we can't handle it, it was the same in 2009, 1999, 1993. Not sure why we choke and bottle it with the things we've won in our history but we do.

That side we put out today was good enough to beat Brentford so it's nothing to do with not being good enough or injuries. We rested players on Wednesday so we could play our best team against Brentford and it's backfired as I expected it to.

Not much we can do about it as fans but suffer.

I think you’ve been reading the “Slippy G Psycology guide to football management” and putting too much store into it. I’m not sure it works particularly well!! UTV

Incidentally, we've now scored 93 goals this season, with at least eight more games to play.

let’s round it up to 100 by the end of the month! Or even the week !

Pau Torres defending today was some of the worst I've ever seen in a Villa shirt. Beyond pathetic. Having said that, Konsa was also utter dogshit. It's unnecessary losses like this, that'll surely make the difference in the end. Hopefully we see an instant reaction next game.

Rogers sublime move and finish a positive. Watkins masterclass once again.

Nice to see someone taking the positives, in this otherwise sea of misery, which we’ve come to expect in this place after any backward step. Yes from 2-0 up to going behind is disappointing but that was a game thst from there we would have lost in the past so getting a draw wasn’t as bad as it might have been. A good performance and result on Thursday will lift spirits once more. For Villa fans anyway. I’m old fashioned from the Ron Saunders era of , “would you bet against us ?”

sadly there aren’t many of us in here anymore, the depression if everything isn’t perfect straight away, generation have taken over now, sadly.

It's been a while since we were screwed by VAR. Probably going to get some dodgy decision go against us that miraculously keeps Man City right in the title race.

You might be right but the people who administer the PL tend to favour teams in red, often in the same part of the country though………

  10. I’m not saying you’re wrong but I am an eternal optimist so I’ve got my fingers and everything else crossed while staying realistic. I’ve been pleasantly surprised plenty of times before, including for the reverse fixture. As others have mentioned Pepe losing it with Joe, show’s he’s losing it a bit and public fall outs are never good for a team, not a thing you’d see from a top manager, Saunders kept it all behind closed doors when the bollockings were handed out, perhaps Pep has lost his cheque book?

We can't and they will totally overrun us in midfield as a consequence.

There's that, and the fact that if we do manage to get the ball into dangerous areas there will be no Watkins.

I'd love to win this fixture more than any other as I hate the b******, but without McGinn, Kamara and Watkins plus them having Rodri and KDB back, I cannot possibly see a way to nick a point.

This is a game we just need to get out of the way with minimum damage.

I can see us getting something at Arsenal, but not here.  They will be out for revenge and they will get it.

Just hope it's not a proper tonking.

Glad to se you’re fully embracing the possitives and not just sinking into deep and depressing thoughts. It’ll be tough no doubt but let’s not raise the white flag before a ball has been kicked! We have an excellent manager and a decent squad who are capable of getting something out of this game if everything goes right for us. UTV!!!!

I’m very pleased to say I was there in the Witton Lane with my Dad. He’d bought a ticket outside the ground for face value off a bloke who pointing up at the Holte End said, “the lad won’t see any thing in there today, it’s a madhouse. “ he was probably right and the chap did us a favour. The atmosphere was incredible, as was the result although the neutrals will remember their goal, which to be fair was a great goal by Ted McDougal. How  things have changed since then!! UTV!!!! I remember Ray Graydon giving their fullback a hard time and after winning a free kick he picked the ball up and handed it to him with a smile. It was a great moment that probably summed up the spirit of the team back then under Vic Crowe! Wonderful times!!! With more on the way beyond anything we could ever imagine back then and perhaps a reason why we can afford to dare to dream  now!  UTV !!!!!!!!

I can add that I remember Andy Lockhead saying he believed that the Holte actually sucked the ball into the net for his goal. Remembering matches like that puts me firmly into the never leave Villa Park crew but times change so we can’t dismiss the idea totally. Sentimentally plays a part and we should never forget those times but we shouldn’t miss any chance to build some more memories, for those who haven’t been so lucky as those of us who have been previously!! UTV!!!!!

The systematic review referenced below states that:

"Removal of internal metalwork was not routinely undertaken. Twenty cases in all had removal due to prominent screw heads."

    and then:

"The pooled results need to read with caution—although the overall rate of metal removal was <10 %, the rate of secondary surgery to remove painful screws can be almost 50 % .

Stay strong, having a screw loose doesn’t make you weird in here!  You’re amongst friends, rest assured!!
