Oh ye of little faith.

Haaland still needs a one match ban for that outburst at the end.

Good that this strengthens ties with Unai but just hopefully there is no financial fair play shenanigans when it comes to his renumeration.

James Tavernier seems to score a penalty every week, its absurd!
Must be only be behind the likes of Messi and Ronaldo with penalties scored in career, one of the great benefits of playing for Rangers in Scotland. According to transfermarkt it is 59 scored 15 missed so he is no Jedinak either.

Benteke's bicycle kick against Man Utd was every bit as impressive than Garnacho's but never got the credit it deserved as he played for the wrong team.

We threw away our identity in the last Premier League season and have half-arsed trying to put together a new one ever since. We were clearly trying to put together a more physical squad but if you look at our central midfield position (Sara, McLean, Gibbs, Nunez, Sorensen and Foreshaw) it's clear we're not fully committing. We've been really complacent over the last couple of seasons, it's like the club just assumed we'd get promoted because it's Norwich in the Championship.
We really did stray from the original Webber/Farke squad building mentality though. I think we'll have 12 or 13 30+ players by the beginning of 2024.
Our new sporting director started yesterday so hopefully that can be the reset we need. Although our recent accounts show that we don't exactly have the money for a dramatic rebuild.
I honestly have no idea if we'll be challenging again any time soon. Will be interesting to see how Ben Knapper sees football, coming from a long stint at Arsenal I'm hoping we'll be a footballing side again. We also have an ownership change on the horizon so we'll hopefully be more financially competitive going forward.
How bad has Shane Duffy been and would a fit Omobabidele have been better?

Matt Lowton signed for 8th tier Witton Albion
That's a crazy drop, was he that bad for Huddersfield last season?

Phil Neville linked with the Portland Timbers job much to the dismay of their fans. It amazes me how someone so dim and with such an awful record keeps getting opportunities. It's not even like Steve Bruce who was capable of doing average jobs. Must be a masonic pull or something.

Corruption
The Saudi money will poison the game here.

Still find Gary Neville's Gnonto praise from last season amusing, he should be playing for Man City at this stage not a sub in the championship.

Liverpool used to have this obsession about needing a "Liverpool" man in. The boot room etc. Every top player was meant to be an understudy to continue the legendary manager link through history. They went years without winning the league.
It's bollocks though. The absolute last thing club needs is to be shackled by the thoughts and especially tactics of some 20+ year old regime.
Football is different now. There are so many top coaches all over the place developing new techniques and tactics to get a edge, constant redevelopment. The hairdryer treatment just isn't going to cut it today.
Worked well for them until Souness to be fair, even Roy Evans did a good job to repair the damage, built a team good enough to win a league if they had a bit more professionalism.

I'd rather us not. It's not worth the hassle.
It's the right thing to do though.

One of best value signings ever. He worth five or six times that now.
10 times and I still wouldn't want to sell.

I hope Villa allow him to train at Bodymoor Heath until he gets a new club. Probably won't though.

Looking at the team photo it is still a little astonishing how tall he is, easily 3 inches taller than Kamara. When he fills out he will be a nightmare to deal with. Could end up being a much classier Joelinton.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. This season Diaby will have more G+A than Jack's best PL season. He will do that his first year in with Vila. Diaby will then, baring injury, go on to produce at that level or beyond for multiple seasons.
No getting pissed on vacation, or hitting multiple stationary vehicles.
Diaby will do all this while being compensated at a fraction of Jack's current wage packet. Jack was great, and we all loved him, but I honestly believe we have moved on and found something much better.
And when Diaby is substituted he doesn't sulk and undermine the manager.

£70m+ for Hojlund and he is still to score a league goal for them, he might be young but I can't see him.being the answer there.

We got so lucky that money wasn't wasted on Bassey.
-
Nothing wrong with not getting in ahead of Tchouameni or Camavinga, he is a very good player but is a level below them.

I don't think they have ever been dominated as much in Guardiola's time there. In fact I'd doubt any Guardipla team has been dominated as much statistically in a game.
