  1. Let’s see how principled Alex Scott is. Yes, she liked Wright’s tweet. Not put anything out herself though has she. They’ve been massive for her broadcasting career - making her a cross over presenter into entertainment too. As the fella says “ might have her by the short and curly’s “ here.

I can see MotD being cancelled altogether tomorrow night, or maybe even just show the highlights without presenters whilst they use next week to 'sort' all this out and back down.

Not sure they can pull a show just like that. They would of bought a rights package from the premier league. Now, i don’t know if it’s at their own discretion when they put on a show or not once money is paid to the PL. Don’t know - not showing match of the day is a big thing. They’ve never not shown it ( excluding when they lost rights for a few years )

  3. Comes across as a very placid and emotionally straight down the middle bloke. If he didn’t go back, i don’t get the  impression he’d fall to pieces like Le Tissier did. He said in a previous interview with BBC radio that he has a few rules, never tweets drunk or when angry. I don’t think he was either when those tweets went out. If he was, he’d of retracted them by now. Nah, can’t see lineker climbing down here.

Complete back down from the BBC. They probably are looking to get rid of him to cut costs given his massive salary, and this was the excuse to do so.

And until an agreement has been reached? He has clearly said he won't apologise over it. I am not a lawyer but this could be a very costly exercise in sacking him.

He’s apparently freelance. I’d be shocked if he’s not tied into a season by season sort of contract, bit reckless if not but yeah by accounts, he’s freelance.

  5. The outcome long term is predictable. I don’t think he’ll be back. He’s gonna look weak if he climbs down. He’s freelance there, not contracted to the BBC so they won’t be getting into murky employment  laws if they let him go. I don’t think it hurts the match of the day branding necessarily if they didn’t use him again. Brand was built in the Lynam days. Great presenter and it’s all a joke really. BBC are the broadcasting wing of the tories.

Garcia is too emotional for me in the build up to this. Tank can give the verbals back but he stays in the middle emotionally. I’ve a feeling Ryan gonna fight angry and from a technical point of view he does so much wrong ( Campbell knock down ) that i can’t see how he beats Tank. And i still don’t think this happens until they both get to fight week.

That shot at the end haha. Love him for trying but if they’d gone up the other end and scored from the goal kick I’d have been less impressed.

Think Unai is using him exactly right.

Seriously ? That would potentially take them 2-3 ( minimum ) phases of play from the goalies restart for that to of happened . If Palace did that, i certainly wouldn’t be blaming Duran for a Hail Mary. A lot would of needed to go wrong by others in between.

Our left side attacking play fell off a cliff when Digne replaced him. He's a great little player.

And Moreno didn’t look great when he played in other games many felt. I thought he was good today but i don’t understand this “ I praised Moreno therefore i must slate Digne “ narrative not specifically by you, a few have said the same. Digne was excellent against Everton. Moreno played great today. It’s a good problem to have in my opinion.

  9. He’s very, active if that’s the word. Never quite know is he going to get dispossessed or beat 3 or 4 men, sprint into the opposition half and get a cross in. Doesn’t seem to plant his feet much ( not a criticism, just an observation ) always kinda bouncing on his heels and keeps moving , yeah.

Even Gerrard had a pretty spectacular start to his reign so it's always foolish to praise a manager too much early on - but I think 12 games is probably enough to firmly conclude Emery is the real deal given the results we've been achieving.

Hopefully he'll continue to rack up the points for the next month or so because it means him and the team will have much more credit in the bank when he inevitably has a string of bad / unlucky results. Some of the reactions on here when we lost three in a row (two against the top two teams in the league) were pretty over the top and hopefully in the future people will have the confidence to recognise a blip in form for what it really is.

I think the litmus test for any manager is when the emotional and adrenaline aspect is gone out of it from a playing point of view when the new guy comes in the door, versus what’s it like 4 - 5 months down the line. There was probably a bit of giddiness in the forum ( myself included ) with the first few Emery games. In actuality it was probably part coaching and part “ anyone but gerrard “ with the response he got from them initially. In the same way as it had got so messy under Smith at the end, that they were responding to just a new voice rather than anything spectacular Gerrard had done. And , when the emotion and adrenaline dropped ( invariably it does, novelty doesn’t last ) his coaching ability or lack there of came to the fore ) I still don’t think we’ve seen Emery even put a finger on the pulse here. Excited to see what he can do when he really makes it his own.

  11. I’m not sure about the lad. With where we are looking to go and we have money - could quite easily be replaced. Dribbling is his main asset but ya wouldn’t exactly call it worldly. Takes it forward at speed into areas where he gets isolated, comes to a stop, outnumbered and turned over. That happens often.
