My point though johnny it wasnt the tactics rodgers was alluding to, it was our own shit play that gifted the 1st goal. You can say the same about 2nd and 4th too. Some absolutely woeful defensive indicdual mistakes. You rarely see the top sides make 3 like we have today. For me it was totally unacceptable

When do you see sours making three individual mistakes like we did today?

I agree with you yes - poor from Villa. Think we’ve come to a point where he knows the players that have the ability to play his way - and the ones who don’t. He has to know by now surely.

The 1st goal was because a shit pass by martinez then kamara had time  to just hoof it but theb tried to play it in the back **** it up and then the leicester  player tackles him and easy goal. It was more shit play by kamara than the tactics. Any team could have done that to us with sucidal errors like kamara did today

Just saying - Dewsbury-Hall still had to make the tackle and it was a fine one too. It was horrendous from Martinez and Kamara but Leicester didn’t not do anything for that goal. That’s not true.

    He is talking 💩

Bouba made the errors himself bit because of anything leicester did. After he made that error it effected him and he was just shit most of the match.

Rodgers trying to take credit for our own mistakes. Thats the reason we lost because of very poor indivdual errors nothing leicester did

Well, they pressed him mate. They did that. They made him panic and concede possession and they fought hard in the tackle to win it off him when he conceded it for the goal. If we did that to them, you’d say “ great villa pressure “ Yes of course he could of handled it better but to say Leicester did nothing for that goal is somewhat inaccurate.

  4. He had a mare. No two ways about it. Leicester look like they were the first team we played that actually did their homework on him. They blocked his pivot. He’ll need to learn that the ball has to move on a bit quicker when this happens.

I had wondered if Usyk would ever drop weights to fight a decent Russian fightee and sort of found my answer , cracking fight and shows how good Usyk is, Fury is not a clear favourite if they ever fight. I can see Usyk fighting Berterbiev again, once Fury sorted, one way or the other.

    Berterbiev V Usyk

Usyk fought and beat the brakes off an elite russian world champion in Gassiev, in Russia. I think he fights Fury and retires. Win or lose. Stands nothing to gain really from fighting and beating Beterbiev. If they fight, it will be at cruiserweight. If you are fighting at heavyweight you can’t just flippantly decide “ yeah im doing cruiserweight “ there’s a weight cut. Cruiserweight is 201lbs and under. Usyk hasn’t had to cut weight since he came to heavyweight and he’s bulked up some. He ain’t doing that at this stage of his career. There will always be someone else when you beat the perceived best out there. Fury and he’s out i think

  6. Not many times id side with Hearn but the fallout between himself and Okolie is a very bad example of when a fighter gets bad people around him and ditch what brought him success. I think he’s a very limited world champion who Hearn promoted brilliantly and manoeuvred to a world title. Now he’s there, ditched his management company 258 ( AJ’S management also ) and Hearn and now Shane McGuigan ( very capable and underrated trainer ) He’s brought on board a lot of hangers on who are giving him bad advice. Moving to Sky and Shalom - huge money offered , i get that, maximise revenues, short career etc but he’s absolutely ripe for that picking. He genuinely believes it’s his in ring ability and it alone that’s got him this far. He’s not naturally talented. Needed a lot to fall in line for him to get here end he’s eroding that now.

Callum Smith saying he could beat Berterbiev has got to be one of the funniest predictions I've heard in a long time. He got bullied by a guy who started out as a light - welterweight and has the temerity to make such a ridiculous statement as that.

If you listen carefully, you can actually hear the roaring laughter of the whole boxing World.

This guys “ career “ has been a hail mary punch against an absolute shop worn and past it , George Groves. How does he keep getting opportunities.

It’s a scouse thing in boxing. They all do it. His brothers. Bellew saying he’d “ decapatite “ Adonis Stevenson . Stevenson stood him on his head in 5 rounds. Fowler. Idiots and absolutely deluded. Callum gave it enough of the big talk prior to Canelo too. Fought scared. Was scared. Ryder beat him. Says it all. Beterbiev sends him to hospital.

This could be quite a smart move as can see him being like Edgar Davids at Championship level, will have just one year left on his Villa contract, some clubs might be willing to give us quite a decent fee for him at the end of the season, or at least more tha we otherwise would have got if he'd have stayed with us or gone on loan to a league with less exposure.

Not been crass here and it’s a legit question but what are you basing that comparison on ? Marv moves and turns like a bus.

  10. Seen their social media video. One way you know you’ve dropped down a fair few rungs on the ladder club wise is when you see videos of our gym facility which is vast and impressive to Luton’s who’s looks like it’s a blokes shed at the end of his garden.

Yet some of our fans thought he could come back off loan to help with our striker shortage but instead he’s going to Salford City.

Some of our fans think our kids are ready but I’m glad the club smash that out of the park.

Look at where Doyle-Hayes, Lyden, Vassiliev, Hepburn - Murphy have ended up, amongst others. We’ve had a fair level of incompetence at this club in the last few years but im safe in the knowledge that those we released, we made the right choice.

  12. If he wasn’t in Barcelona’s kids team a few years back, this thread wouldn’t be on the first 10 pages. The English Ryan Gauld. He’ll probably find his way in some nondescript lower league European team. I’m not been harsh but bloody hell you’d swear it was our own brother or son the way we go on here at times. He has had zero impact in 3 loan moves so far. Leagues significantly lower than his parent club are in. Archer was an absolute beast for Boro at the weekend and lit it up at Preston last year. The difference.

Fair but Fulham are newly promoted and heavily rely on Mitrovic so shouldn't just be patting ourselves on the back if we're more effective with what we've spent. And we're still 3 points off them. Newcastle have an insane defensive record, think they've conceded 11 goals so with that low a figure they can get away with just 1 goal a game. Even then Almiron has already scored 9 in the league from a wider forward position so they don't really need a CM to step up to contribute.

Fulham are the 2022/23 Sheffield United. They’ll be sussed out next season. People will ask “ why aren’t teams figuring them out now “ It’s a weird one. Mostly a mental thing. On their part - momentum. The opposition still compartmentalise them as the promoted team and don’t respect them despite their lofty league position.

We have Coutinho on the bench. He should be contributing before we start saying this 18 year old kid needs to hit the ground running.

Except he isn’t and isn’t likely to. I believed ( still do ) that Gerrard is/was woefully inept and that maybe coutinho was hamstrung with such a bad manager. What I’ve seen of him so far with Emery - he’s done nothing wrong but he has in no way effected games either. It’s a damming indictment of a once world class player when we are getting excited by him playing a 5 yard pass in a 10 minute cameo. Coutinho is done. Legs are gone.
