Benteke had a good first impression though. He scored on his debut.

He did indeed but looked awful , scored a bit of a jammy goal i recall off the bench ,spent a couple of weeks before that on the bench . Don't think he really stopped scoring after that

  2. Watched the players celebrate for 15 min , then joined the tube queue where a fair amount of derby fans clearly wanted trouble with villa , being as they couldnt get a reaction due to us being hugely outnumbered , they proceeded to fight each other on the tube.No need at all there were loads of kiddies from both teams around.

  3. just a heads up to anyone travelling from tamworth train station , there have been a lot of cancellations today due to staff shortages , hopefully wont happen again tomorrow

Anyone getting the train from Lichfield and/or Tamworth and then Atherstone and Rugby just need to be mindful that this will be the same line that the Derby fans will be using.

I have done a search of trains from Derby, Its a change point at Tamworth and then these are the calling stations....

Tamworth station will be very busy with Derby and Villa fans. Unless they have put specials on for the Derby fans but i doubt it.

This will be the same for the later trains leaving as well.

Will also make the return journey interesting as well.

Last year Tamworth station was full of Villa fans who effectively filled the train at that point. So Monday will be interesting to see how the trains cope. I can see some of them being standing room only.

Great im on this , i thought derby fans would get the st pancras train straight through

    It's just the train fare.

Did you use the 20% off code?

booked on west mids trains , so code not valid .Still not too bad a price with tube passes

Read the regs handbook again, and be very precise when looking at the language.

It effectively says its only a free kick for handball if there is intent in the referees opinion, so by default, if he gives a free for handball, he's also saying he believes there was intent and therefore has to book the player.

Just to be clear, i'm not saying i agree with the rules, but in this incident, the rules were correctly applied.

I take my info from bbc's deliberate handball guide , i'm not clever enough to provide a link , so certainly can't find it in the rulebook 😀

I was looking at picking a couple up in the lower Holte...Apparently there's only a hundred or so left with no two together. How does that work, surely the entire lower hasn't gone to ST sales? Do they reserve loads of rows for general sale?

This seasons holders seats won't be released until the deadline has passed , usually in the summer june time

Funny, i thought you were talking about whether Mings should have been booked...

He lashed out after not getting a free kick he, and I, felt he deserved - definite yellow.

The ball does strike his arm, and were the same happen in their box, i would expect a penalty.  Unfortunately, the rules state that a handball is a yellow card - so both fair yellows and fully justified and in accordance with the rules.

Take off the claret specs, and objectively, its 2 yellows.  Can't appeal, as you can only appeal straight reds.  I have no complaints with those 2 decision - plenty of others - but not those 2.

Handball isn't a caution , Deliberate handball is. There has to be an intent to handle for a card to be given , attempting to chest the ball and it hitting the arm isnt a caution if we go by the letter of the law.

Smith clearly don't rate jedinak but I would rather see him than whelan.

Yesterday he looked out if his depth with his dreadful subs. Your chasing a goal and you bring a cb and dm on???

I mean seriously thats Sunday league management.

Spot on , i think smith gets a bit of an easy ride he is getting it horribly wrong. It was crying out for keinan davis to hold the ball up , and he made defensive changes

  11. Will watch his progress from afar , 3 goals from the bench in the 2nd half of the season for wolves , returned to chelsea and swiftly loaned out to recently relegated fulham . He could have got himself a big permanent move in the summer had he stayed here and scored goals!
