  1. Moyes ended his time at Everton with a solid squad but his early days were far from great with a number of relegation fights, including Evertons lowest ever Premiership points tally. They were also very inconsistent in where they finished and I'm not sure he is what we need when we go down. We need to come straight back up so that we don't miss out on the TV money and I think he would need a few seasons to sort us out.

Have you tried the Weekend at Bernies series?

Didn't realise they were on Netflix? Seen the first and it is good but heard very bad things about the second.

Is "Never Let Me Go" on Netflix?  If so, that.

Just googled it and the blurb makes it sounds like something my wife would enjoy more than I would.

Plus I can't stand Keira Knightley.

Never forget the gym owner mopping the lifting platform between my squat session....absolute moron

Could've been worse, imagine if you were mid-squat and ATF and he did it.

Converse are fine, the lites are kind of based on them but have a lip on the side of them as converse blow out on the sides eventually. But you'll be fine.

desdliting bare foot is fine, I use to pull that way. Wouldn't squat in socks, unless your gym floor has some decent grip...sitting back in socks on a slippy floor isn't a good idea.

Socks and slippy floors is not a good idea, socks and pads/mats is fine though.

If the floor is slippy go barefoot.

  6. If you have any doubts then just take your shoes off and do it in your socks. You might feel silly the first time you do it but you'll be suprised by how many people squat this way.

Wait on spending £50-100 on lifting shoes until you have been doing it a while and want to make a proper commitment.

I don't think anyone in my gym knows anything  It's full of young housewives doing yoga.

    Sounds good to me ;-)

I watched that video this morning and practiced at home. I'm definitely not doing them properly that's for sure, I'm getting better at keeping the weight on my heels and keeping myself, but for the life of me I can't get below parallel, even holding on to something so I don't fall on my arse, I'm thinking I should just keep going as low as I can and it'll get better as I loosen up a bit over time?

Spend some time stretching out and your flexibility will improve. However if you are just starting out it might help to raise your heels by standing on something whilst you are developing strength and flexibility but make sure you are not wearing running shoes.

I used to struggle with achieving the correct depth and needed a wide stance to do so. I looked into this when JB recommended it and have realised that my femurs are long in contrast to my body proportions and that is why I always went to far forward. Even on body weight squats I struggle to sit back properly as my centre of balance is not where it should be. If it sounds like it might be you then there is a bigger discussion about it in the next link.

  8. Widening your stance or raising your heels by putting them on a small plate or something similar can help with achieving proper depth and stopping to lean forward.

Especially if you have longer femurs than usual.

  9. My main gripe with the trailers is that Jesse Eisenberg does not come across as a good Lex Luthor. He doesn't give off a sense of power, ferocity or charisma.  His hair also looks awful.

  10. I think Ian McShane's comments abiut his role are interesting. He confirmed that he is bringing back a fan favourite that people think they'll never see again.

To me this could be The Hound, Jon Snow or Ned Stark.

Bringing the Hound back serves no real purpose in taking the story forward so I doubt it's him.

Jon will come back but Melisandre will sort that.

To me, he will be involved with Ned Stark. He says he is only in one episode and a flashback story fits with this. I also think that he physically looks like a weird mix of Jon and Ned and could easily play a Stark. I wonder if their could be an earlier flashback than the tower and he could play Ned's dad Rickard, the writers are going beyond the books and he will get a meaty role. This would also explain why they are keeping his characters name a secret. It also links in that there are two new actors playing Ned and that Sebastian Croft is playing a teenage Ned, so at that point Rickard would be alive.

I noticed that. He always seems to do it, though. He quite often picks England to lose as well. In fact I can't remember the last time he said that they would beat Wales. Perhaps he's afraid of being accused of bias.

I can kinda understand the not wanting to be accused of bias thing (it's nonsense but can understand the worry), but am really suprised by the five Irish players. They did not have a good tournament, he also only picked two Welsh players.

Started watching 'Justified'. I like it so far. I hope it lives up to its potential.

Very good show and doesn't lose quality as the seasons progress.

The guy playing Boyd Crowder is fantastic, as is Raylan's wife but that might be for different reasons.

Trust me, the big, 'capitalist' as you call them corporations are all for as much taxation as possible. Taxation means that no small company is able to break through anymore. Did you ever wonder why there is no more new car companies that make it big? It's because the taxation and regulations are killing the everyday bread eating Joe. Big corporations have no need to support capitalism, as capitalism would enable the small companies to have a go at them. Today, through numerous government interventions, those big companies have monopolies in many areas of the market (auto industry being the prime example).

The principal reason why you don't see new companies breaking through in industries such as automotive (or oil/gas, medical, aerospace or any other high end engineering) is due to the strict level of regulations involved that make supplier and quality assurance incredibly expensive and difficult to deal with. If you are not already set up to deal with these costs and have the necessary qualifications that let you operate in these industries then it will cost you an absolute fortune to gain them and this must be done before you can legally sell your products; let alone convince an established company to risk buying from you. These regulations govern the entire supply chain all the way back to the companies making the base materials to the finished product.

13 days on citalopram and little anxiety and no panic attacks, thought I was over the worst of them until yesterday afternoon had an huge panic attack, knocked me about for the rest of the day, hardly slept because of it and now I've spent all day anxious about having another panic attack

its a viscous circle and when its like this it's really impacting on my life, FFS I had walk out of asda earlier because I kept thinking "what if I have a heart attack here"

i know these tablets take some time to work but right now I feel worse than i ever did

Things can and will get better. The first step is realising something is wrong and the second step is doing something about it, you've already done this and are on the way to feeling better. Don't forget that. Not all treatments work for everybody, give it a try and don't give up on it but if you are really struggling in a few weeks then talk to your doctor about it. Just make sure you keep taking them until you are your doctor find something else to try.

Don't let the panic attacks get you down. My last one (that I can remember at least) was the worst I have ever had and came when I thought that I was on an upward curve. It affected me so much that people tried to call an ambulance for me as they thought I was having a heart attack or something. It really scared me and took me a while to get over, not just mentally but physically too. But that was over a year ago now and I am an awful lot better today. You will get better too if you keep working on it and talking to people about it.

  15. One of the lads from my rugby team has just been involved in an interesting gym challenge for charity.

    http://www.harrogate-news.co.uk/2015/11/30/59329/

The group of 12 people planned to lift 1,000,000kg between them within 24 hours.just doing bench, squats and deads.

With the guy from my club (one of the PTs) doing his bodyweight (125kg) x 1000 reps in total.

Don't know the full details of how they got on but I believe they achieved it.

I got half way through the pilot episode of DC Legends and couldn't carry on. As you say it was terrible. DC LOT seemed way to hammy for my liking, I ususally like to give tv series a few episodes before writing them off, but I just couldn't do it this time.

I was hoping it was because they had too many characters to introduce in the pilot and that it would settle but episode two was worse than one. The characters are all morons as well and I feel it is being aimed at kids (hence the hammy acting and awful dialogue).

  17. Watched the first two episodes of DC Legends of Tomorrow and far from impressed. Bad acting, direction and writing. The Marvel shows are so much better.

I think I'll add Better Call Saul to the list as everybody appears to be raving about it.
