I said Maddison would be a great signing for us then got told by Kiwi he was rubbish and doesn't track back.

Been a fabulous signing for Spurs and exactly the type of player we needed.

Yeah. Callum Wilson, who’s scored 80 times in 200 PL appearances, is also muck apparently.

they said in commentary he's already having the conversation over switching to england

Changing the name on his passport to Omari Kelly would make him legally eligible for the Republic of Ireland as well.

Ha ha! Yeah, it is a good little pub. I imagine normal people as well as those interesting in ‘cottaging’ would also like it.

There was a barmaid who worked there 10-15 years ago who had blue hair, and I was absolutely smitten with her.

I hope she’s doing well, the little minx.

75% pass accuracy considering this is supposed to be his weakness.

Smashing it at Kamara’s shin was an “accurate pass”. That statistic doesn’t capture that when his passes are bad, they’re very bad.

  5. He wasn’t great and wasn’t obviously atrocious either.

    - Maybe could have done better with the goal, but it wasn’t his fault.

    - Decent save from a deflection, if he dealt with it a little odd.

    - Zero command the box in general. Came and got nowhere near at least once. Looked uncertain about whether he’d come or go at least one other time. There’s nerves there.

    - He was at fault for completely missing the Rodriguez cross. He misread the flight and we were very lucky not to concede. He was noticeably not head-on with the opposing player when contact was made. He was off by about 2 yards.

    - Horrible pass to Kamara could have been costly.

    - At one stage in the first half Emery lost the plot for him hoofing it, presumably because there was a pass on. I didn’t see a clear pass at the time, so I’d no complaints with hoofing it there personally.

    - Routine enough save to his right-hand corner at 2–1. This is definitely nit picking but he looked awkward getting down to it. I’m not criticizing aesthetics, what I mean is he looked like he had poor enough positioning/reflexes/responses to it. Could just be his style, but to me hinted at something bigger.

  6. Great away win.

Kamara very impressive. McGinn imperial. Cash and Digne provided a lot of the attacking threat, a great little adjustment to the formation by Unai. Moussa is absolute quality. Ollie should have had a couple. Promising subs.

Olson a worry. Came a few times when he should have stayed back and/or went to no man’s land. Pau deserves time to adapt but still has the turning circle of a medium-sized tectonic plate.

  7. Charles N’Zogbia says hello.

If we want to talk about pound for pound, we also need to adjust for our increased revenue. Zog was our highest earner on £60,000 at the time I believe.

£10m 18 months after we signed for 1.5x that wouldnt be good.

Particularly to Saudi, we should be aiming to make a profit (not against his Book value either before the FFP Gurus jump in). And settling for getting our money back.

.... especially as there's no way the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can afford his wages and we'll probably have to subsidize

Sunk cost. Need to make do with what we have, not make bad decisions based on the past.

  9. He’s a good player but this is another Ings situation. Sell him now and get decent money (say £10m), or wait a year when he’s lost a yard of pace and we end up subsidizing part of his wages while he goes on loan to Stoke.

Good player, always put in a shift, very professional. Good business by the club too. Best of luck if you’re off, Lucas.

Galatasaray are very savvy putting the 2m acl tax on this!

I don’t think the 2m cancellation fee makes much sense in the combo with an option to buy. People are saying it’s a £6m loan, with £2m cancellation fee if we don’t buy, and the buy price is set at £23m or whatever.

Thats the same thing as a £6m+£2m=£8m loan fee and a £23m-£2m=£21m buy option, i.e. the extra two million was already covered by the available options.
