First game I've been impressed by Cleverly. Working hard and getting some nice interplay with Cole and others now that there's some movement ahead of him

No. Weimann and Gabby offers no movement off the ball. I can't see this working tbh. In the way Lambert plays football, players like Cole is not effective. Wiemann offers a lot of movement of the ball.

Looked to me like the only person who could win the header was Hutton so that was the target. We tried a short ball to okore for a while but it was copped into quickly any he was closed down

Clark motm, closely followed by Hutton. Some of the same problems as normal. Good work ruined by not being able to keep the ball and a general lack of composure. Wiemann the scapegoat this week. He was poor and missed a great chance but Southampton missed chances too. As for their goal that's what happens when you ask centre forwards to play as wingers in a team that sits back and defend

That kickout to okore is doing nothing. Southampton too quick to close him down

Okore started slow getting pulled out of position a bit but seems to have settled as the game went on. Some nice passes too. Does Clark have a black eye? Looked like it when they showed a close up after his knock down

The problem with the sub's for me is that they were either forced or reactionary. Lambert doesn't seem to have a plan of his own Baker had been injured for 60 minutes and looked unable to run for about 5 or 10 minutes before he couldn't continue. Instead of taking the initiative Lambert waited until he was forced. Clark did well when he came on and made some good blocks but it was reactionary. From about 85 minutes Gabby stopped chasing down because he looked wrecked. Why not bring on someone with fresh legs to put pressure further up the pitch and stop our retreat into our box.

Very much no he won't. He's not even that good of a player. I really don't think we've missed him in the past 2 games he hasn't played. Just doesn't do enough for me. I genuinely think we're his level. You're very much in the minority if you think he's crap and that we haven't missed him

I don't get why no villa player was contesting where spurs were taking that free from. Someone should have been in their face trying to get it moved to the correct position.
