  1. The ridiculously camp sounding one. How very dare you sir!
  2. Seriously? Bring in NRC for Heskey for me and I think we'd have a great chance. Yeah I mean I'd be happy if we did that but I just can't see O'Neill not going 4-4-2, I'm sort of accepting that fact, therefore I'd go with the exact same team. Like someone said, did okay there last year, Vidic will be back but they do have a shit defence. Cleaned up your post for you
  3. Is that what happens? I thought our posts had an effect on how MON chooses the team
  4. i couldnt have said it better, petrov was suspended, which was his own fault. in his abscence we demolish bolton 5-1, its now his turn to sit and wait, also i think reo-coker is a better captain, he's more vocal and the players seem to respond to his authority, not only did he have a good game at the weekend but for once you knew who was the leader on the pitch. ThisThisThisThisThisThisThisThisThisThis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I hate to flog a dead horse but he was Im-****-mense against Chelsea. I hate to state the obvious but Chelsea could of won that game 5-2 but they couldn't a cows backside with a banjo. All there one-on-ones came because our midfield got overrun. They were going past Petrov like he was Stan-ding still, same as when Ireland came on for Man City. and several other games in the last 30 mins when Petrov looks stuffed
  6. Petrov= All show without doing anything. You forgot the crab like movement and 360 turn he alwasy does when he recieves the ball under pressure. Petrov is a luxury who should only play in a 5 man midfield. When it comes to unlocking defences he doesn't come close to Barry or Berger for that matter.
  7. Yeh, after he left they won the SPL in 05/6, 06/7, 07/8. Clearly, utterly trashed. financially crippled they can only compete with championship clubs for playes like Fortune and Fox In fairness thats got more to do with the state of the sponsership of the SPL than any manager.
  8. The thing I think with Villa fans is we've been starved of success for so long. Seriously closest we've got to winning anything major was the F.A Cup under Gregory. We've had some dodgy managers GT Mk II DO'L and now MON comes along and we get back to back 6th place. This may seem amazing but we have Randy and MON has spent a lot pf money putting HIS squad together and after 4 seasons in charge its obvious he's incapable of getting a team to play anything othe rthan one style of football. It's very crap style of football and if it's not working we don't have an alternative. We can beat Liverpool and Chelsea just like Bolton used to under Allerdyce with there similar crap style of football but like them we'll never have any consistency. I understand why I get abuse for stating these things and being accused of being a bluenose, not knowing anything about football and such but I think I'm just arriving at the answer quicker than some people.
  9. His decisions restrict him from being big time. We are stuck with him for better or worse as far as I see. It won't get much worse but I don't see it getting any better. 6th place favourites year-in year-out.
  10. MON said he has a squad and will make rotations. He said he didn't realise we had the smallest amount of substitutes last year until it was pointed out at a managers meeting. He said on MotD last season that he didn't realise we had the same starting XI for the first 10-11 games until JR pointed it out to him on the sidelines. He blames the last result on tiredness and doesnt rotate. Hes played players recently with niggles until they became injured. Its unacceptable and the tip of the iceberg of why were inconsistent.
  11. Klinsmann is useless. Germanys success in 2006 was down to Jogu Loew. Klinsmann got the boot from Bayern because he was found out to be rubbish. Trappattoni got sacked from Stuttgart after about 6 weeks and went to Red Bull Salzburg before Ireland. He's too defence minded and not cut out for top level club football anymore IMO
  12. The difference in Petrov in the last two matches from I can see is he seems to be a lot fitter but there is a doubt and always will be of him lasting the full 90 in a 4-4-2.
  13. We kinda did switch to 4-5-1. Gabby went out right and Milner moved in for the last 10/15 or so. Also, switching to 4-5-1 doesn't neccessarily close out the game. IMO, it allows the opposing team to sit higher up the pitch which doesn't always "relieve the pressure". I think MON got it right, as the result, not speculation, proves. It is true though that in last third they had three one-on-ones that were failures more so because of abject finishing than anything else. Those runs all came through central midfield.
  14. I said sometime last year, perhaps not on this site, maybe to a mate in the pub, that Petrov somtimes makes the most uncoordinated looking passes but very effective. This is how'd I'd class the pass for Gabby's penalty that should of been. Kinda ugly looking but very effective
  15. I wasn't able to see the match but by the highlights I saw and from what I've heard, I've a large slice of humble pie to eat with regards to Petrov in a 4-4-2. Never said he was shit but.
  16. IMO he would. also, we won 4-4-2 against pompey with stan and sidders the CM 2. Pompey who are tearing the league a new arsehole and honestly had justification to be disappointed with the amount of clear chances they had after Petrov faded.
  17. If you took the probable top 6 teams of this season he wouldn't make the first XI, not in a 4-4-2 anyways.
  18. Umm sorry but have we won a league match with Petrov/Sidwell in 4-4-2?
  19. Which is quite strange, as he has been comfortably our best midfielder for the last nine months. Therein lies the issue highlighted by this post I guess. Half of the respondents to this poll - who think he can't play in a 4-4-2 - would appear to disagree with you and half probably think you are correct. Well considering he won both the supporters and players 'Player of the Year' I guess that the overwhelming majority would agree with the fact that he has been our best midfielder over the last year or so. Just shows how much was Barry holding is hand. I didn't know how shit we would be with Stan in a 4-4-2 without Barry but now I do. If he's a DCM where the **** was he when City scored the goal. I couldn't see him in our half at the time the ball was slipped to Adebayor!
  20. It's not about formation. It's simple maths. I have done an equation to illustrate the season so far: NRC + Sidwell equals win Petrov + Sidwell does not equal loss Petrov - (NRC + Sidwell) = loss You can clearly see from this that Petrov is indeed the weakest link which I knew anyway. I thought Petrov had his best game of the season last night but that's not a compliment. He was adequate. Gabby, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Friedel had better games and Sidwell because Petrov was at fault for the goal.
  21. Yes you cant blame Emile for being rubbish and being made look good surrounded by Englands best players against countries that end in 'stan'. I blame the manager who bought him and continues to play him in the abscence of any end product. FFS Luke Moore was better and MON had no problem getting rid, and WTF did Marlon ever to do to not get the chances that this pile of shite gets???
  22. In fairness to Emile he was only on about 2 minutes before he fell downin a heap in the box so to his credit he's consistent
  23. Petrov was brilliant with two other CMs against Liverpool but I've never slated the player, just said he's not got the legs to play 4-4-2 and MON is more the fool to keep gambling on this.
  24. He said at the football awards after Carews goal won goal of the season that he'd teach us about the game of football. Was that last night? I was at a concert.
  25. I posted these comments on another site after the Wigan game but before the Liverpool game. You'd think I'm a **** clairavoiyant or something... I remember that. I was like where the **** is Petrov. He was about 40 yards away in our own half too stuffed to move. QED No more Petrov in a 4-4-2 please Mr O'Neill or are you too **** stubborn to accept the bleeding obvious. It's not a matter of fitness, Petrov doesn't have the legs anymore. He's not th eplayer you had at Celtic and Heskey is not the player you had at Leicester.
