Not as embarrassing as your complete denial that Smith can be at fault for things. Are you related to Smith or something as your refusal to accept anyone questioning Smith is highly strange if you're not.

I think people are underestimating how difficult it is to manage Villa, at Brentford it's a whole different ball game there you have a small crowd who are happy because it's the best they've ever known but at Villa you have 30k+ unhappy Villa fans demanding more because it's the worst a lot of them have known. If you look at Smiths managerial career it's crazy he was appointed tbh and it's confusing why so many Villa fans have been demanding him to be our manager for a long time. In my opinion it's only because he's a Villa fan that there was demand as if he was just a manager from any part of the country the fans wouldn't have been happy with his appointment for example when Steve McClaren was in line for the job the fans weren't happy but he's had a far far more impressive managerial career than Smith.

I have likened Smith to Lambert but I take that back now as even though Lambert was hopeless at motivating he was always able to motivate the team against his former club. It seems Smith can't even do that. I am really concerned. i'm kinda glad Smith didn't take us over earlier as my guess is he would have dragged us into a relegation battle had he come in any earlier.

Under Bruce this squad had it's faults (the defence and keeper) but it never lacked goals and it never lacked fight. Under Smith we have a good keeper but the defence is still a problem but it now lacks goals and fight. Lacking fight is unforgivable for me it don't matter how poor the squad is (imo this squad isn't as bad as some who refuse to accept Smith makes mistakes will have you believe) you should never lack fight and whatever Smith has done whilst he has been here he has removed the fight.

I'm supporting Smith but I don't believe he is beyond question unlike some (I know you'll say he isn't as well but then describe why he is beyond question). I hope he can improve things but at the minute it's blind hope as there is nothing to suggest he will. It's the fact things aren't working but he's not changing a thing that is the big concern for me and then it's the tendency to talk about the ref (like he did vs Wigan) even i who likes to blame the ref for a lot of things could see the ref had no bearing on the Wigan result and he has mentioned it twice once after the game and again on Friday and tbh it's making him look a bit daft.

I agree, it was grown men as well so they haven't got the stupidity of youth as an excuse. But there has been anger brewing game by game which isn't the picture to poster I was replying to was trying to paint.

I go to every game. And I don't who where you sit if you go but it's not as rosy as you are describing on Friday for example I witnessed 6 villa fans in a heated discussion which descended into a fight. Mass booing at Wigan (those who were still there) anger at Preston and Reading. Do you go to games and if you do, do you pay attention to what is going on around you as your post suggests you either don't go or sit there oblivious to what is going on around you. Maybe I'm wrong maybe I should accept 1 win in 12 but call me old fashioned but I believe football is about winning games.

It's draws that are killing us, we've had 15 minutes so far in 2019 where the performance can be described as decent where we scored 3 goals but it doesn't look so rosy when you consider 2 of those 3 were either a terrible goalkeeping error and a defensive mistake you wouldn't even expect our terrible defence to make.

We got torn apart by the mighty Wigan, they hadn't scored from open play for over a month before they played us and they could have had 5 yes Wigan could have scored 5. Smith moaned about the Ref in that game and he mentioned it again on Friday I think someone needs to tell him the Referee had absolutely no bearing on the Wigan game him complaining about the ref in that game is just making him look stupid. Regarding the bit in bold without promotion we'll lose Grealish, Abraham and possibly McGinn so we will have a squad with a huge amount less quality next season so just saying no promotion oh well is bizarre it's a mentality that says failure is OK. I'll keep my expectation of wanting to believe we could win every game we go into and the expectation that I don't think 1 win in 12 is acceptable, being so lax about the current situation is once again saying failure is acceptable. You can't be successful in anything sport or otherwise if you are willing to accept failure. The most alarming thing is Smith is doing the same thing over and over again despite it being obvious to anyone that it isn't working it's like he's run out of ideas, If he wants to show that he isn't just your average mid table championship manager things have to change and soon because if things carry on as they are I won't be surprised if the owners decide that he isn't the man for the job in the summer (I would like to reiterate that I will give him next season like i did with Bruce but imo if things carry on i don't think i'll get the chance to give him that time)

You want the fans to lower their expectations of wanting to see a team that tries to win a match. I've heard it all now, do you really think fans should accept the last 12 games where we've had 1 win and played football worse than the season we got relegated? The answer to that question is there isn't a football fan out there that would accept that well with the exception of you it seems.

The fans are going crazy because results aren't improving and the performances are getting worse with each passing game.

2 losses in 15 is good but how many wins have there been, it's the draws that are killing us. Where we Finished December meant that draws are worthless they are as good as a loss. I like what you did there though saying 2 losses in 15 as that makes it sound good but when you look harder it doesn't look so good.

I just hope that the last 15 minutes vs Sheffield Untied is the turning point

you can have as many Pre Seasons as you want if the players are crap they will still be crap after pre season, Remember the squad Monk has has been together for ages and have had season after season of last day relegation survival but this season they'll probably finish above us.

Stop trying the rewrite history. As i have pointed out I am giving him the same time i gave Bruce, i'll give him next season but he is making it a struggle. But just because i'm giving him that time doesn't mean i won't criticise him when we have won 1 game in 12 and the one we won was because the opposition was terrible.

That is what the people demanding Smith to be manger said he'd do, but have now moved the goal posts because it hasn't happened so now are calling the squad rubbish. Again you are clearly in the Smith can't do anything wrong camp. Oh and we aren't going up this season so we won't have our best player next season, neither will we have our top scorer and it's highly unlikely McGinn will still be with us. So using your logic it's going to be a whole lot worse next season.

This is the typical Camp 1 post I was on about. I think you find like me the fact we haven't won every game isn't why we are showing concern it's the manner of the performances absolutely no fight and looking like a bunch of strangers. It's funny you should mention the FFP stopping us from signing players. The last few weeks it looks like we've signed a whole new team because it looks like they've never played together before.

The last 15 minutes last night says different. As strange as it sounds the come back has actually made things worse for Smith and the players because where was that level of performance and fight for 80 minutes.

You mean the Whelan that when he was taken off last week we went from playing in Readings half to the edge of our box, and the same Whelan that came on yesterday and changed the game completely so we were able to score 3 goals, you mean that Whelan? I like Jedinak a lot but it was obvious that yesterdays game was not for him.
