  1. For me he scored he most important goal of the season - against Leicester. Ok Sherwood technically wasn't the manager at the time, but for me it was the start of the turnaround, I got some belief that we could get back on track. Today he was always available on the right for an out ball and he was pretty effective with it. Looked good today, getting better with every game. Should be our 1st choice RB
  2. A true captain's performance. Well taken goal and linked up so well with Westwood and Cleverly, I was surprised how easily we could pass it through their midfield. It's a pleasure to watch when we ping it round so confidently.
  3. Just got back. First trip to Wembley. We destroyed Liverpool. I love Aston Villa!
  4. It was about 50:50 in chances, they managed to score one of theirs. On another day it might have been the other way round. We seem to be very shaky at the start of games, takes some time for that anxiety to settle. Some of the ref's decisions were baffling. Sanchez did ok for about 10 mins then disappeared from the game. Can't afford to have him in a 2 man central midfield, should have played 3 to begin with. Overall the team performance was good, but individuals made the odd mistake, wrong decision, missed a chance etc. Apart from Delph who was magnificent throughout. Wasn't a bad performance by any means, we pressed them right to the end, heads didn't drop after conceding. There's still encouraging signs, but we are leaving it late to ensure safety.
  5. It will be interesting to see if Tim changes back to the diamond formation, sticks with the attacking 4-4-2 or goes for three CMs. I think he has big enough balls to stick with last week's system, hit them hard from the start. It would be a shame to drop anyone from last week so I think we'll see the same faces lining up. Get the first goal and I think we can take them. I say 2-1 to us, but it will be the toughest game yet
  6. Whatever Sherwood has given him, I want some of it! Totally changed man Not running into blind alleys any more. Look like he got tired in the 2nd half, had done enough in the 1st anyway. Was linking up well with Bacuna who also had a fantastic game
  7. Quite simply one of the best performances of recent times. Pinging the ball round with such confidence, at times we looked like a top 4 team destroying lower opposition. All out attack plan worked like a dream. I was worried we would be very exposed but Nzog and Sinclair worked hard to get back on the flanks. Maybe took our foot off the gas a little in the 2nd half, but I think they're probably not used to playing such a high tempo for 90 mins. Ok, Sunderland were beyond rubbish, but like they say you can only play what's put in front of you. It wasn't a scrappy 1-0 win, it was a joy to watch.
  8. First post ever! First 10 mins we were very shaky, they had some chances but thankfully didn't take them. We then settled down a bit, even later in the first half it didn't look like we made anything hugely effective attacking wise and by half time I thought it was heading for a replay Complete change in the second, Sinclair, Gabby and N'Zog ripped them apart with pace -they are pretty slow all over the pitch Once they were down to 10 it was game over. We seemed to have retain some of the short passing but added more direct play, counter attacks which was our style before. Midfield more confident to make forward runs, in front of the play, which is how Delph got his chance - by the run Delph made himself and Sinclair who drew defenders with him. We took our chances, they didn't, fantastic win. Atmosphere was amazing. More importantly we're in the semi final!! Wembley here we come!
