O.k 95/96 we also finished 4th and lost three of our final four fixtures. Were people slagging off Brian Little in those times because he was playing Scott Murray and Neil Davis?

We achieved one of our season objectives and we've looked completely done for the last month in regards fitness. If anything was riding on today then Bailey, Pau and Tielemans would've been out there I'm sure.

It really dosen't need weeks of crying about this result on here although from the "race to 4th" thread in last three months we've seen for some reason certain posters seem to revel in us having a bad result and then making endless posts about how Man. United/Spurs were just going to breeze past us so just in people's nature I guess.

I give credit where it's due. And criticism, I apply the same rule. I'm not one for petty hatreds either, with all that "Sky Six Scum" inferiority complex nonsense. That's just me. Like it or not!

I want the boys to have a laugh out there,

but would be amazing to break the 70 point mark, ollie breaking the 20 goal mark and Villa being the team to break Palace’s form

Who do you think will be telling the jokes? My guess would be, McGinn.

The Cross and the Axe (Bogdan Dziworski)

Elegiac documentary about Krzyżtopór Castle in the village of Ujazd, southern Poland. Built between ca. 1627 and 1644 by Krzysztof Ossoliński, it was occupied until 1770 when it was destroyed by the Russian army during the military actions against the army of the Bar Confederation. Nowadays, the castle is classified as a permanent ruin. The film is a powerful meditation on vanity and historical decline whose ghosts inhabit the ancient ruins. Modern times are really ridiculous compared to the magnificence of the destroyed fortress.

Very great, visually stunning, and good soundtrack which I think is some sort folk choral thing, and sound design is good too, I didn't even know what it was about as I watching, I just knew people rave about Bogdan Dziworski documentaries as being hidden gems, and this was definitely good, some of the cinematography was like watching Tarkovsky film or something, this one about Ice Hockey from the same director also looks interesting

What was that on? Sounds interesting.

It’s kind of got the feeling of the 3-3  draw at Goodison Park in 1989 about it when we came runners up. Graham Taylor’s claret and blue army was sang from the first minute until the last.

Still don't think it beats "Big fat Ron and his claret and blue Army" at Hillsborough on the first day of the 91/92 season.

I want to win this game...I want to breed the winning mentality.

Liverpool came to our place with nothing to play for, but winning is in their DNA, it's been bred in to them.

I believe that will be Unai's stance.....try to win every game you play in.

It's easy to fall back in to old habits......

I say, go out to win every game...don't succumb to slack attitudes.

Nothing worse than arrogance. You here on this site, time and time again, how they despise the arrogance of the "Sky Scum Six." To which I say, be careful what you wish for. Don't just talk a good fight, nothing more admirable in this game than "Humility"!

Old imagine he is absolutely stunning at chess

Lewis was a top player. That analytical mind, it's difficult to outwit.

I always regretted the fact I never learnt chess but, patience was never my forte, far, far too impulsive.

Don't mind a bit of Backgammon though. 😉

I stick by my thoughts after last night especially the fact that there were far too many voices being heard in Fury's corner. His old man continually talking over Sugar was very detrimental to the situation. I wouldn't be surprised if some harsh words were exchanged after the fight in the dressing room. The corner as a bit of a shambles which wouldn't have helped Fury at all.

All in all though it was a pretty close fight with many rounds being very subjective as to who won because it was very nip and tuck throughout.

I'm not sure but I also think the IBF belt may be relinquished due to the rematch clause which may leave this being the last undisputed HW battle for many a year. Who knows what the future holds for either but I expect both fighters to take a pretty long break from the sport and whether either fighter remains truly committed to running that back in October, who knows.

Yep. It looked like a lot of energy was spent by both fighters.

Totally agree with the Fury corner business. Too many cooks and all that.

Fury has definitely lost a step or two and that isn't going to change, on the contrary, he will start to tire even quicker as time goes by.

I struggle to see him beating Usyk now, especially with Usyk having that psychological edge.

Incredible really he looked a beaten man. He’s a lot better than I thought he was.

Annoyingly good. He just as a unique ability to outwit any opponent put in front of him.

I remember Chris Eubank Snr saying,  years ago, after Lewis had fought Klitschko how Eastern European fighters are the most difficult of opponents. It's so true.

Get on TikTok Paul and offer his old man out 👍

Putting all the nonsense to one side. As a spectacle it certainly excedeed my expectations. Once Fury dropped a gear, Usyk pounced and sensed blood, literally. I think the rematch is 60/40 in favour of it happening. Think you was spot - on in the decision. That ninth was decisive. Without that 2 point margin, we would have probably got a Fury win or a draw.

Have to give Usyk his due. To shift the momentum like he did was astonishing.

Don't think his wife will want him to. Too many boxers go on too long and end up with brain damage

And how many wives do you think, through the years, have been ignored by their boxer husband?

It's not like he was outclassed throughout the fight. He was in the ascendancy up until the ninth, when he strated to lose some bounce. That alone will be enough to inspire encouragement for the rematch.

Not sure the outcome would be any different but if it was, it wouldn't surprise me.

I think the turning point was Usyk landing on Fury's nose and bloodying him up. Until then I think Fury was pretty dismissive of him and in the ascendancy. It changed the flow and inevitably led to the big left hand in the ninth.

That's exactly what happened. Fury didn't have another gear. Whereas, Usyk pushed the "Turbo Button".

You could see the panic and confusion from the punch to the nose. Like I said, he should have stayed switched on enough to avoid that.

I said before the fight yesterday, he'd concentrate on the body with Usyk doing the headhunting. I agree, why he stopped working the body when it was obviously giving Usyk trouble is beyond me.

Some fighters have that indomitable will to win and Usyk has it in spades. I actually thought he was on the verge of getting stopped with the accumulation of those body - shots from Fury. Wherever did he find that second wind from, literally!

Thought that was a draw.  Very close fight

Well said, D. You couldn't have complained had it gone the other way, imo. The thing is, it's the fighter who looks the better in those last few rounds that usually prevails.

He was, the flow turned in his favour until the 9th and I'd have given him the 11th too. I think even with the count there was only 2 points in it.

Why Fury stopped with them body - shots is beyond me. All he had to do what was keep that jab with the distance. He just lost momentum after that ninth.
