  1. Jeez before the season started most of the ones having a moan now said that we'd not pick up a single point because we'd lose to Bournemouth cos of new to premier league boost. Loose to Utd and palace as they are miles ahead of us. So that doesn't transpire then it's something else. No game is guaranteed 3points. Who'd have thought West Ham would beat plop, palace beat Chelsea, boggies beat a better team in Stoke.

We will be fine this season. Once we get grealish traore (and gabby- he'd have done well yesterday as he always does against Sunderland).

The negativity is mind boggling this early. The team will get better once they gel and get to understand each other.

Take a chill pill it does you good. You'll have a better life.

  2. It's a shame he turned down Celtic. It's clear Tim doesn't really fancy him and is looking to free up some cash to get a new striker. If he stays he will be a bencher most of the season and we won't get the extra forward we need.

    Lose lose.

    :(

Hang on in a post just a few above yours the poster said sherwood was asked about him and said he is staying and working on his fitness but then you say sherwoid had no plans for him ??? Bizarre. !!
  3. That's funny because I swear I saw him make some good tackles - even after he lost the ball he ran after the player and won it back. He linked up well. Decent game. But what do I know.

  4. I don't like him. Felt he could have done better with first goal. He didn't move.

But my main gripe was that he was so slow in releasing the ball. He seems to miss the obvious throwout to give it to someone who wasn't in a position to move forward.

Felt very uneasy every time the ball went his way.

It took a bloody deflection ffs. Suppose you could have saved it even if it took a deflection too. Not at fault for the first. Second yes a penalty and third was a great shot and not even Guzan would have saved it. This goal keeping lark is easy. Oh yes he also made some decent saves too but let's ignore that.
  5. We're not done, although there is a chance we are #StevoITK

Whoaaaaa, you're starting to sound like Richard.

That said, he's regarded as a god on here for his 'If I say something that cant be proven right or wrong regarding a signing' approach, so it could be worse.

No its because of my legen wait for it dary sexual prowess

    Oh. You mean you're a wan.... !!

    Just kidding!.....

Showing my age here but i always thought Zaza was a frog?

Nah - she was an actress (and a bad one at that) her and Eddie Albert in Green Acres (and no I don't mean THAT kind of Green Achers)!!! - showing my bloody age now!!
Wrong. Green Acres was EVA Gabor, Zsa Zsa's sister.

The Zaza I remember was in Hectors House

Hectors House  - memories - I preferred The Hector Heathcote Show, Banana Split Show! Capn' Pugwash Deputy Dawg!  - Jeez No I am showing my age

  8. It's ok to debate but when said 'fans' call sherwood clueless and other things beside. That is having a go at the manager not debating or discussing. Opinions could be made without resorting to calling the manager clueless or he's got no idea etc. In the end the manager was proved right and the fans clueless. That match last night was exhilarating, remember when fans used to say they'd rather lose playing good football than win a boring match? They don't half change like the wind after a bad curry!

  9. I think if you're Basque you're Basque. That's judged from my Basque friend - and it does cover some of the south of france and some of the north of spain. Occupied countries don't tend to associate with the occupiers' nationalities I reckon!

Yeah but I know quite a few Basquewards  -  some of who post on here! My dad used to call me one when he was angry with me.

  10. The chances of Pato coming to Villa are 0. It's not Shaqiri to Stoke remote, it's me bedding Sofia Vergara remote.

Poor Bloke - didn't know you needed Viagr....... sorry my bad - bit dyslecks, dixeslic, .......  can't read the words properly!

    :P

  11. that was still an awful line up.

yet another game where we have severely struggled when in reality, it should of been a walk in the park (no pun intended)

if we are going to struggle against smaller teams then we have no hope against teams who are on par with us, and as for teams superior to us, well, our lads might as well go play golf and concede the 3 point.

however maybe im being harsh, it is of course the beginning of the season and we have a new manager with new ideas with a new squad...

Rubbish - cup games are notorious for the 'smaller' teams to up their game - nothing to lose mentality. Walk in the park? - try telling that to Stoke - taken to Penalties and Sunderland 3-3 against a walk in the park Exeter - came out on top and scored just ONE goal more than us. Wolves (a big club) lost to Barnet!

We had to work for it (like all the other teams) - however we have a NEW team with 9 not having played much this season.

  12. What did he do wrong? Nothing he could do about 2 goals and had to rush out for the pen thanks to baker being so out of position and giving it away.

This. Could do nothing about the 2 goals but there will be some who say they were easy saves (who probably played in goal and saved everything that came their way) . Penalty was no need to do that but apart from that he made some decent saves and caught the balls when county attacked. But other than that he must be shit cos he let three goals in.

We can't afford to keep buying strikers just because the ones we have bought appear to be shit.

And we can't afford to buy another CB just because we bought a load of players elsewhere and thought richards could do a job.

They do see it, they just haven't got the cash as TS says.

Giving players time before saying they're shit is underrated

Do you believe we need a ST Stefan?

Dunno about Stefan but could we give Ayew and Gestede a bit more than 180 mins max before we decide they are shit? If they have been poor, does that mean, as they are both pretty young, they will never improve? Will a striker hit better form when the team around them gels and gives better service?

FFS Roma - don't talk sense on here please you know it doesn't work that way. Time is what some fans cannot grant players (be they young or experienced). That is an alien concept to some to allow a decent amount of time (more than 3 games or so).

  14.

It staggers me how all of us on here (well most anyway) agree on similar things, I.e, drop gabby, buy a cb, buy a striker etc. As of yet there has been nothing to say we are definitely on for a cb, despite wild, unconfirmed reports of lescott, no confirmed interest of any strikers and to my knowledge gabby is still starting each week.

My point is...are we somehow genetically different to Tim, Lerner and the board? How can they not see what we see??

Maybe they have seen what we have seen. Maybe that's why they bought Gestede and Ayew.

    Then realised, oh shit...

No THEY didn't realise oh! Shit - it was some fans who just said it without being a little patient (more than 3 games).

  15. Is Hippo a troll?

How many points after 3 games last season?

How many points v the same opponents last season?

If you aren't a troll then can you please explain exactly what relevance that has?

You can have 9 points after 3 games and still have 9 after 38...

Nah - last time I looked Hippo's live in Africa and wallow in Mud - has a huge mouth and does **** all all day except eat and shit! (in this case talk shit!) :P

  16.

Sherwood says we deserved a point. What **** game was he watching?

Probably the one where we missed two really easy chances in the first half.

Or the one where we committed suicide three minutes from time at 1-1?

Or the one Pardew said Villa were terrific and they won by the skin of their teeth.

We deserved something out of the game.

Sorry but the way Palace dominated the second half almost from start to finish makes me have to disagree. Yes we shaded the first half but imo we deserved **** all

I'd rather agree with the opposing manager (and ours) who was at the game and who looked relieved at the end of the game and gave us a lot of credit - but what the hell do professional managers know - bugger all it seems - of course some  'fans' know better. Over BOTH halves a draw would have been a fair result, but let's focus on the negative - what fun would it be to give the team a bit of credit and  time to gel. Not even in the real lower end of the table (12th on GD) and were destined to struggle.

  17. You can't really base an awful lot on what anyone's delivered so far. If that were the case Leicester would be shoe-ins for the title and Chelsea, Southampton and Spurs are all surely relegation candidates.

What we can see is a new team full of new talent. Some of that talent is quite raw - see Ayew and Traore, some of it needs time - see Veretout, some give us a certain dimension - like Gestede, and some have largely hit the ground running, although are finding out that the PL is a ruthless place to play football.

Injuries, form and suspensions mean that we'll see a multitude of starting formations across the next 35 league games but I think we'll take our fair share of point once the team starts to gel.

We are crying out for a striker. Think if we had Adebayor or Austin in place of Gabby yesterday and we'd be on a 4, if not 6 points today i reckon. I think Ayew will ultimately take Gabby's role with a new "number 9" looking to start ahead of Rudy.

I don't think Randy is going to give us enough money for Austin, but I still hope a deal for EA can be done.

I'm not sure on Lescott's pace, but he'll certainly give us more presence at the back and from set pieces.

Hoping for some activity this week.

Jeebus Stan don't try and talk sense on here. Three games is more than enough to judge each player and decide we are relegation fodder. Surely you should know that by now.
